What's better than a dyson?

Hi, not posted in this topic before. I currently have a "DC44 Animal" Cordless Dyson. I remember it cost about £300 when we bought it several years ago. I've never been hugely amazed by it - it does the job but I'm wondering if there is actually something better available, preferably cheaper too? Dyson keeps cutting out so think it will need replacing soon. Thanks.

A Sebo.

JaneEyre70 · 25/08/2017 21:41

My DD has just bought a Shark hoover. It's absolutely amazing, literally pulls the carpets up off the floor. Very powerful suction and well designed to remove centre part for hoovering stairs etc. I've just bought an AEG cordless but tbh it was the same money as the Shark and it's like an electric carpet sweeper in comparison.

A vibrator

TheScottishPlay · 25/08/2017 21:42

Sebo.

YellowLawn · 25/08/2017 21:44

miele or bosch

Crumbs1 · 25/08/2017 21:46

A cleaner that brings the hoover with them?

Mulch · 25/08/2017 21:47

Zvandelle Grin

Mrskeats · 25/08/2017 21:47

Any old Hoover as he supported Brexit Wink

LtGreggs · 25/08/2017 21:51

Recently bought a shark (to replace aging miele). Very good.

Allice · 25/08/2017 21:53

I have the same dyson, it's at the menders as it keeps cutting out and apparently needs a new battery ehh he will cost £90, it's 5 years old and I'm just going to replace it I think.
I'm going to take a look at the Shark

Wenchelda · 25/08/2017 22:47

Allice we've already had the battery replaced once on ours (when it wasn't very old at all) and now it's doing the same thing again. I like how light and easy it is to use but it needs to actually do the job properly too!

Shark is amazing, sebo is good as is miele. I'm a cleaner so I use different hoovers all the time and definitely prefer the lighter ones that don't fly towards you when the hose touches the carpet for a few seconds

Sedona123 · 25/08/2017 22:55

Another vote for Sebo.

e1y1 · 26/08/2017 08:09

Anything is a better than a Dyson, sort of joking.

Sebo - I luvs mine.

ParadiseLaundry · 26/08/2017 08:16

Going against the grain here, I never understood the fuss about Sebo. I had one about ten years ago and while it started off good it seemed to lose suction quite quickly. I also think it with heavy, noisy and cumbersome. It was a long time ago so they could well have improved though.

I have a cordless Dyson V8 I think it is. I bought it when they came out a couple of years ago and it's about £500. Worth every penny and it's my only vacuum in a 4 bed house with a mix of flooring.

321zerobaby · 26/08/2017 08:50

Snap, I was going to say the V8 cordless dyson too.

SpamHeadedBastard · 26/08/2017 08:52

Miele. The auction is so strong it almost brings the floorboards up.

sanasa · 26/08/2017 08:54

Shark all the way.
Previously had a Henry and dyson. Both nothing compared to shark.

Littlewoo · 26/08/2017 08:56

I just bought a Shark last week to replace my Dyson. It's amazing, love the lights at the front so I can see all the grime and multiple dogs hairs on my wooden floors, my Dyson wasn't the best. Love the lift away feature for doing the stairs. The Sharks suction is awesome, I had to reduce the level as it was almost glued to the ground and I couldn't push it! They've got a lot on offer on amazon at the moment.

frogsoup · 26/08/2017 08:57

Miele, miel, Miele!

Hulder · 26/08/2017 08:59

Any hoover that isn't made by a man who loudly supported Brexit saying it was good for British jobs when it reality he had outsourced all his production to Malaysia.

And it now moaning Brexit might be bad for his country estates and wants to make sure he gets all his subsidy. Angry

Literally any other hoover.

Ilovewheelychairs · 26/08/2017 09:01

We adore our new Shark. Never had anything so powerful!

JamOrCreamFirst · 26/08/2017 09:02

Shark.

Rebecca75 · 26/08/2017 09:04

I've just bought a mile c3 cat and dog (after posting on here the other day). The majority of replies from my post were for the miele. It arrived yesterday and it's bloody brilliant!! I too had a Dyson (biggest pile of overpriced crap on the planet).
I got it for £199 from Freenet electrical.
It definitely lives up to its fab reputation.
