How often do you change your bed?

Think I have a fetish about clean sheets, I have to change my bed about twice a week, more in the summer, cant stand 'sweaty sheets'. Nothing better than getting into cool clean ironed sheets. DH says I'm weird.

musicalbox · 25/03/2007 17:46

ShoshableEggEater · 25/03/2007 17:50

Once a week, twice in the summer for the whole family (we do live in Cyprus though so they do get sweaty!)

musicalbox · 25/03/2007 17:52

Loved ironed sheets but have given up as DD (and dcs come to that) just throw themselves on top of the covers and ruin all my hard work.

shouldbe · 25/03/2007 17:52

once a week but never iron any bedding (much to my MIL's horror )

Boobsgonesouth · 25/03/2007 17:53

weekly.....

DANCESwithaTruckLoadOfMiniEggs · 25/03/2007 17:54

not as often as I should

saltire · 25/03/2007 18:04

I change ours once a week, and the DSs as well. Have to agree with everyone else Shosha I'm afraid, I don't iron sheets/duvet covers either. You childmind loads of kids, have a rest, don't iron sheets.
Having said that, I am paranoid about getting into a smooth bottom sheet, this is possible caused by DH's ability to twirl round in his sleep like a spinning top and every morning without fail he ends up lying on the mattress, the sheet and mattress cover are usually ruched up in between us, or he's under them lying on the mattress itself. Every morning i pull the sheets of and re-make it.

snipersmum · 25/03/2007 18:06

shosh, I think you're quite normal compared to my mum, who irons socks, pants, and her nighties every night before she goes to bed....

littleEasterlapin · 25/03/2007 18:08

I've had the same bed for 10 years...

MrsSpoon · 25/03/2007 18:09

Once a week mostly here. I don't iron the fitted sheet (I figure it sort of irons itself when you stretch it over the bed) but I do iron the duvet cover and pillowcases, it only takes a few minutes.

ShoshableEggEater · 25/03/2007 18:13

just bought a memory foam ma tress a few weeks ago, ooohhhh ironed sheets sooooo comfy

Pure cotton ironed sheets are fab!

I love freshly made beds too!

Polycotton sheets are scumsville and I can never understand why so many people buy them - I can compromise on lots of things in life, but somethings are sacrosanct!

aol · 25/03/2007 18:19

Cotton topsheet in summer, linen in summer. Iron them and the duvet cover if not crisp line dried. Am fetishist about it. Change ours and kids weekly.

Liberty sheets are fab - get them in the sales.

MrsSpoon · 25/03/2007 18:22

Inthehouse, have you tried the White Company? I bought some from there in the sale and they are gorgeous. However you just can't put White Company bedding on unironed, it just wouldn't be right.

tortoise · 25/03/2007 18:23

Probably not as often as i should!

mousiemousie · 25/03/2007 18:25

I think Alibubbles changes hers daily!

aol · 25/03/2007 18:25

Who was the mumsnetter who changed the bed everytime they shagged? I can't remember if it was daily, weekly or monthly?!

saltire · 25/03/2007 18:27

PMSL at little lapin!

ShoshableEggEater · 25/03/2007 18:37

God if I changed mine every time we had sex, it would be the same sheets for a year

And the White Company ones are beuuuuuutiful.
