Good morning

Not sure how much FLYing will happen here today - I still have this nasty head cold and dd woke up at 6.30 with a very heavy nose bleed and temperature

HAVE to do some jobs so will be back wth a list once ds is dispatched to pre-school.

Thought I should come make my excuses [blushh]

DS has german measles (though a fairly poor excuse for yesterday as he is sleeping it off so not about much ), but today I have pulled a muscle in my side and even sitting still hurts

Hope you feel better soon shouldbe

staceym11 · 20/03/2007 08:07

well potty training continues but should be able to do yesterdays and todays mission ok! oh and gotta go to baby clinic with ds as he was sick this morning and there was blood in it so not sure whats happening,!!

hope people fell better today!

shouldbe hope dd's temp goes down!
flame hope ds gets better soon and so do you!
jelley thanks for the mission!

shouldbedoingthehousework · 20/03/2007 08:55

Hi flame hope your ds is better soon - and that your pulled muscle improves too
stacey my ds is sick quite often and occasionally has blood in it - it's very rarely anything to worry about - lo's often burst a blood vessel while straining to be sick so that may be the cause...hope he's ok

My main job for today is to sort out the spare room/office/dump. It's soooo bed in here I'm planning an intensive couple of hours work this morning and then dh can help with some more later (it's his office really after all!) Trouble with working in here is that I end up browsing MN for way too long so please feel free to boot me off if I hang around too much!

Bin bags at the ready and off I go.......

OP posts:
staceym11 · 20/03/2007 09:02

thanks for the reassurance shouldbe, think im just worried coz hes only 5month and he didnt strain at all so its a bit odd! sure its nothing tho!

oh and get on with your housework!!

JustIvor · 20/03/2007 09:02

Is that shouldbe, bin bags in hand, disappearing into the depths of the office I see? Yes, it is. Look forward to you posting on your success later!

I'm at home today as ds is sick. I'm not going to be on here much as I want to do lots seeing as I've had to take a day off work.

Done list:-
~ showered and dressed
~ breakfasted
~ loaded d/w

To do:-
~ light fire to keep ds snug and warm
~ do a load of washing
~ lots of jobs!

JustIvor · 20/03/2007 09:02

Hi flame. Good to see you.

glassslipper · 20/03/2007 09:05

hi all.

hi flame. my dd had the same a few weeks ago. felt rotten with it.

my dd2 is still ill after a week and now it has moved down to her chest and her eye is all puffy. as she's only 3 1/2 months old i cant really leave it any longer so we're off to the Drs this morning.

means no housework this morning. although by coincidence i've done kelly's missions by myself in the last few days [swot emoticon]

Sorry i've not been around, my FIL died suddenly on Thursday morning so i've not had a chance to do anything, MIL is staying with us, so we've really just been trying to get throught the days, DD also has a weird rash and swollen face (slapped cheek ??) So had to keep her off nursery as well, sorry to moan, won't do a list, just trying to keep on top of stuff

Be back a bit later going to try to sort out some ironing .. dd watching Monsters Inc and i have to hold her hand during the "scary" bits !!

shouldbedoingthehousework · 20/03/2007 10:19

HAVE to do this today, was well motivated earlier this morning but am finding it all too difficult now
There's too much furniture in here and yet the storage is a nightmare....motivation please FLY ladies....

Hello to all. yadd So sorry to hear of your loss. {{hugs}}

shouldbe You are getting there, you know. As FLYlady says, it didn't get to be that way in just one day and it won't get better in one day. I plod on and keep going and see the difference even though it is slow going, I know I'm getting there. Be kind to yourself! You are doing what you can!

Jelley · 20/03/2007 13:10

yaddah shouldbe You are doing well, just keep going and it will get better.

ipanemagirl welcome, & lol at flyfoetus. We all had to start somewhere. I'm sure FL has paperwork tips, I will hunt and do a link.

My method is to sit with it on the floor and sort into recycling pile, need to file pile, and need action file. Bin pile one and start on pile 3. I have bills written in a book as I don't do dds unless I have to so I have to remember to pay things.

Back in a bit with a link to something more useful. Anything is better than ignoring it for another day though

Jelley · 20/03/2007 13:19

FLY financial missions Not sure how much it will help, as I can't be bothered to read it all

ipanemagirl · 20/03/2007 13:20

Jelley - yes thanks for link!
I'm building piles.........

NineUnlikelyTales · 20/03/2007 13:22

Hi all Yadd I'm bery sorry to hear about your FIL.

{{Hugs}} to all those poorly people, grown ups and DC alike.

DS up at 6.20 this morning after a bad night so I went back to bed with him for 2 hours nap! Not likely to get too much done but hey ho!

So far done

Made beds
Bought veg etc for tonight's dinner (quite a fancy one, actually!)
Bought ingredients for apricot and walnut cookies (Tort you inspired me! - and also inspired by having fancy pantry so I can actually see what dry ingredients I have)
Load of laundry on and drying
Been to library, returned book and ordered one about easy-to-grow plants for the garden

To do
Ring vicar re DS christening
Contact B&Bs in Wales for wedding we are going to
Collect up items to return to friend I am seeing tomorrow
Tidy kitchen
Vacuum

I am ahead of flylady on the missions this week as my bedroom is the one room in the house that is really clean and tidy, and my mattress cover is quite new and lovely.

Have a good day everyone

9nut

Jelley · 20/03/2007 14:05

pantry.

grouchyoscar · 20/03/2007 14:09

Afternoon All

A huge hello to Ipanemagirl Glad you've stopped by. As you can see, everyone here is terrific

BTW re TDPC...don't panic! I'm afraid it's been a bit of a speciality of mine for many years thanks in part to years working in admin and looking after DH's affairs.

Basic storage/sorting tools. A pile of carrier bags and I recommend getting some of those A4 file flexy waterproof pockets that are dirt cheap. Oh and some post it notes Once you've sorted it out then you can think about useful storage solutions.

OK tackle your TDPC...ready? The tip is (like all flying) break it down into bite size chunks. You can tackle each stage 1 at a time

Put everything into one big pile

Stage 1...Rough sort...2 piles, 1 to keep, 1 to shred (I bet you find loads of open envelopes, inserts and ads that you don't want/need) chuck this pile I managed to fill a large washing basket at this stage

You now have a smaller pile, doesn't look so daunting.

Stage 2...Specific sort...Organise into specific piles. eg I named mine as Bills, Household stuff, Bank Accounts, Insurance, Guarantees, Legal stuff and Other. These piles can be stored into carrier bags until you can get around to tackling them.

Stage 3...Finest sort...Deal with each pile when your ready e.g Insurances breaks into Buildings, Contents, Car, Pet, Health, Life etc. Slide each catagory into one of thos file pockets and label, you can put these pockets back in the carrier bag

At this stage you have an organised set of paperwork. Continue with each bag of fine sorted stuff until it's all done.

Now it's all done. Do you feel better? Treat yourself to some nice storage ideas (expanding file, card wallets, A4 box file)

I'll post my done list later. Sorry to hijack the thread but if there is one thing I can do, it's sort paperwork!

glassslipper · 20/03/2007 14:39

hi all.

not much done. dr gave me some eye drops for dd2 but said her chest sounded ok so we just have to wait for the cough to go by itself

ipanemagirl. agree with everything GO said. If you have loads of stuff get a filing cabinet. it reallyis wrth it - i kep mine in the garage. if only a bit of stuff get one ofhose boxes which holds foolscap files.
