Afternoon All
A huge hello to Ipanemagirl Glad you've stopped by. As you can see, everyone here is terrific
BTW re TDPC...don't panic! I'm afraid it's been a bit of a speciality of mine for many years thanks in part to years working in admin and looking after DH's affairs.
Basic storage/sorting tools. A pile of carrier bags and I recommend getting some of those A4 file flexy waterproof pockets that are dirt cheap. Oh and some post it notes Once you've sorted it out then you can think about useful storage solutions.
OK tackle your TDPC...ready? The tip is (like all flying) break it down into bite size chunks. You can tackle each stage 1 at a time
Put everything into one big pile
Stage 1...Rough sort...2 piles, 1 to keep, 1 to shred (I bet you find loads of open envelopes, inserts and ads that you don't want/need) chuck this pile I managed to fill a large washing basket at this stage
You now have a smaller pile, doesn't look so daunting.
Stage 2...Specific sort...Organise into specific piles. eg I named mine as Bills, Household stuff, Bank Accounts, Insurance, Guarantees, Legal stuff and Other. These piles can be stored into carrier bags until you can get around to tackling them.
Stage 3...Finest sort...Deal with each pile when your ready e.g Insurances breaks into Buildings, Contents, Car, Pet, Health, Life etc. Slide each catagory into one of thos file pockets and label, you can put these pockets back in the carrier bag
At this stage you have an organised set of paperwork. Continue with each bag of fine sorted stuff until it's all done.
Now it's all done. Do you feel better? Treat yourself to some nice storage ideas (expanding file, card wallets, A4 box file)
I'll post my done list later. Sorry to hijack the thread but if there is one thing I can do, it's sort paperwork!
