ellihsmum Blimey you poor thing getting up at 5.30! Hope you get some rest later.

My bathroom is pretty much under control at the moment but I may do a spot of shwishing and swiping the surfaces and de cluttering the windowsill where I have spied a few of ds little men (soldiers and dragons and things) creeping about.

Am off to work all day today so will not get much flying done but am going to try and do some meditation for me when I get home.

Take care everyone.

THanks you too. Off to do lunch boxes which seems all wrong in the holidays!

Lazylou · 12/02/2007 07:15

Morning! Same here, off to work I'm afraid and I was just getting back ino this FLYing thing .

Woke up at 4:00am this morning, so have been doing uni work before I get DD up and get ready for work. But have woke up with a nasty cold and feel quite rough. I'd rather not go in actually, prefering to stay swaddled up in bed with DH running around me for a change, but hopefully I'll get sent home...

Have a good day all and I'll try and pop in later (although I don't finish work til 6

EllieHsMum · 12/02/2007 07:23

Morning all.

Good on you for starting the threads/ keep doing the links EHM
I hunted for the mission this morning, and now I've found it , I wish I hadn't!
My punishment will be to actually do it!
"Nothing says I love you like a clean toilet when you have your face in it"

You don't want to know what time I've been up since
Not helped by dp asking in an accusing tone what is wrong with ds, as he is "always" crying. If I knew doesn't he think I'd do something about it?

Rant over

Bread maker is on.
I need to put on more washing, hoover the whole house, and set up playstation in kids room so I can shut them out of our bedroom today.

ludaloo · 12/02/2007 07:39

Morning Ladies

EHM You were up early again! Do you think Ellie is going through a wake up early phase?
I know my youngest did...for about 6/7 months

Lazylou and Glitter have a good day at work both. Lazylou, hope your cold doesn't get any worse.

I didn't manage to get back on the computer yesterday, but I did quite a good job on the house. I left the Bathroom out on purpose, as I knew we were in the bathroom this week. (that came round very quickly didn't it!?)
I'm doing the bathroom...and my one other room is the Big Cupboard on the landing (GULP!)and the Airing Cupboard (Combined together..they'll take me as long as another room would!)

FTS New cats!!! Great! I love cats...we did have 5 cats in our old house. One ran away shortly after we moved to Wales ..never to return, so then we were down to 4. Then we moved to another house in the same village but the landlord would only let us bring 1 cat with us so we re-homed the other 3. Luckily, they are not too far away, and they all went together to the same family, so I can visit when I miss them
Oh...and it really, really doesn't matter how much FLYing you get done, some do loads some days..none the next...don't feel bad Hun, you are doing brilliantly!!

Jelley the pictures are cool! The card looks fab!

Right well, upstairs is my mission today...I have to go into town and food shop (should have done it Friday, but we were snowed in)So our cupboards are looking very sorry for themselves! Dh did a small shop...which, although I'm eternally grateful for, consisted of mainly, Mini Rolls and Popcorn

Have a good day ladies xx

ludaloo · 12/02/2007 07:48

Morning Jelley

Nice mission!!! NOT!

I love Kelly's justification for having a clean loo!!!

Husbands really do have an uncanny knack for saying completely the wrong things don't they!!!! TUT!

Oh and I forgot to say...my treat for today is a bunch of flowers (I didn't make a list...but I'm going to treat myself anyway )

Fattytwoshoes · 12/02/2007 07:58

AWwwwwww thanks all. I feel so welcomed

The new cats are soo sweet, my dp was late for work this morning. I have only just got up, so i'll browse mn for a while and then try to get something done!!

satinshoes · 12/02/2007 08:28

Morning everyone.

Sorry i havent read the weekend thread so hope everyone is ok.

We're ok. Both DDs have the cold/sore throat/cough I've been trying to fight off all week. Which means DD1 misses pre-school and i dont get a break. And DD1 (who is now 9 weeks old - where is time going) breaks my heart every time she coughs.

On a positive note I'm getting a new car tomorrow My current one has a dodgy sunroof and exhaust and due for service/mot next month. We worked out for an extra 2k i could replace my 5 year old failing car with a 1 year old nice one

Fortunately i did my en suite bathroom from top to bottom yesterday. Need to do the main bathroom as parents coming to stay on wednesday. I promise to do the mission

have a good day everyone.

shouldbedoingthehousework · 12/02/2007 08:32

Good morning everyone

We're having a slow start this morning but I have managed to empty the dw and put the last load of washing away from yesterday so that's OK. The house is still reasonably tidy from yesterday so there's not too much to do really and with the kids at home nothing much is going to happen anyway! I'll try to recruit dd to help in the bathroom (though obviously won't make her clean the loo - or maybe...) The airing cupboard was done a week or so ago and the utility room is managing to stay in a reasonable state too
We need to pop into town today to run some errands for dh so will probably get that over with once we're dressed and breakfasted.

EHM Poor you! Get yourself some rest today

DimpledThighs · 12/02/2007 08:34

......(((((hello))))))

DimpledThighs · 12/02/2007 08:43

oh dare I show my face here?

remember me anyone? The one who had a hard time settling her daughter at school so stopped flying for a while?

Well my beloved dd is doing so much better and it was slow but she hardly ever cries now. Thing is that I am yet to pick up my abandoned flying. I have been lurking and reading your threads but have not really posted or done anything!

It is now half term so I am out of excuses. I have the dcs around, both ill and miserable but the thing that is making me most miserable is my house. I was doing so well with flying and now every room I walk into makes me depressed. there is mes everywhere and I really was on top of things a while back. I don't want to go back to babysteps but I cannot remember how to do it!

What do I do to get back with it????

elliesmum early start, bet you are tired. Hope your day goes well.

glitterfairy lazylou have a good day at work

helley my dh says things like that sometimes, kind of a bit accusiative but innocent at the same time. Put it behind you, he must have been in a bad mood about something.

ludaloo like your dh shopping skills! Hope you get some healthier supplies in today

satinshoes we have the lurgy too - horid isn't it. Hope you tiny baby is as lovely as I imagine - will you get soem extra help with your in-laws around? (not that you need it - you always amaze me!)

shouldbe oh it is you that makes me feel most guilty as we started flying at about the same time and you are the sucess story and I am the failure sulk Have a good time in town - I have so much to do here I cannot begin to explain!

fattytwoshoes lovely to see a new name and cats too! HOpe your flying is going well (it is brilliant I have just fallen by the wayside!)

staceym11 · 12/02/2007 09:04

hi!

i have never flyed before but have been lurking and attempting for a few weeks (got a 14 week old ds and 2yr old dd so its hard some days) but iv acctually managed this one before she said it! i did the toilet while dh was home yesterday (coz he made a mess of it, dont you love men!!!) so im ahead!

also don't have enough space for clutter of laundry boxes etc. so just my normal today which is:

get kids dressed
load washing machine
do washing up
unload washing machine - load tumble
empty nappy bin
take rubbish out
tidy dds bedroom

oh and i need to clean my window ledges today too should be fun!

shouldbedoingthehousework · 12/02/2007 09:11

OH no, dimpledthighs don't let me make you feel guilty! I'm not really that good at all - just had a big blitz recently! We all have good spells and bad spells with this FLYing lark
Although I do find I'm generally settling into more of a routine around the house, it's still only the basics that get covered and they take up most of my time - when am I going to be able to clear out all the cupboards etc - the bloomin' understairs cupboard has been bugging me for weeks!
How old are your lo's - can they be given some jobs to help with? Dd loved helping sort our arty stuff on Saturday (and now has making projects planned for this week!)

I'm really pleased your dd is settling more at school - I haven't had any of that extra worry which is bound to have made everything difficult for you for a while. Maybe just start with one room (the living room perhaps or the kitchen - wherever you spend most time) and have a little blitz on it? I find that as long as the living room is tidy then I can relax in there in the evenings

The children are arguing downstairs - I'd better go and see what's going on

shouldbedoingthehousework · 12/02/2007 09:12

Hello staceym11 Welcome!

staceym11 · 12/02/2007 09:15

thanks for the welcome, i should get on really!!

vwvic · 12/02/2007 10:05

Hello everyone. I've been such a slattern this weekend . Both children are at home as well, so I'm not sure how much FLYing I'll get to do. However, a thorough clean of the bathroom was on my list for today. I don't have an airing cupboard or utility- I did all the washing machine stuff last week in the kitchen. So, my "list":

-clean toilet
-clean bath and sink
-wash bathroom floor
-put away junk in living room
-survive first day of half term.

Back to check in later.

lucy5 · 12/02/2007 10:05

Hello all,
another lurker here! I've had a look at the flylady site and have a couple of questions, hope you don't mind.

Do you spend all week on one zone?
Where do I start my house is a tip since having my ds 11 weeks ago, it was messy with just dd but now there are two, it's gone out of the window? Is it just general tidy up and concentrating on one zone?

Thanks

DimpledThighs · 12/02/2007 10:07

hi vwvic looks like we are in the same boat with children at home - I am determined to get going though - let's both check in at the end of the day to see how we do!

lucy5 when you start you work on baby steps to get yourself up and running and then there is a kind of cycle where you are in a different place each week doing a 'zone' clean whilst keeping on top of everything el;se - a more dedicated flyer will explain it better than that though!

DimpledThighs · 12/02/2007 10:08

babysteps

DimpledThighs · 12/02/2007 10:09

this kind of explains the routine and ethos

Jelley · 12/02/2007 10:15

Hello again, and welcome to stacey and lucy

If you check the babysteps on the fl website, that is the best place to start - shine your kitchen sink.
We gradually added to the basics, then on to the weekly zones, and on this thread, we check the daily mission each day (but its cleaning the toilet today [bleurgh]).

Lots of us find a list of jobs to be done helps, as you can come back here and say - I mopped the floor - and get a round of applause

My dds are at home too, but they are big enough to help (with a little bribery).
We have friends round later, and for the frest of the day, then days out planned tomorrow and Wednesday, so if I can stop the kids trashing the whole house today, we should be ok this week.

There will be 4 under 1s, and children of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6, 7, 8, 8, and11 here this afternoon. I don't really rate my chances much
