Hi all!

Welcome to a brand new month in which we (in a very casual way) follow the FlyLady method to try and banish CHAOS (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome), and to declutter in order to remove an excess of STUFF (Something That Undermines Family Fun).

A daily BabyStep, plus missions, daily focuses and weekly zones break our time into manageable chunks - all helped by lots of supportive chat and a Naughty Corner stocked with goodies.

All welcome!

Well done babble! Bet you never want to feed anyone in it again now! That's how I feel when I get mine clean anyway lol

Stilllivinginazoo · 10/11/2016 12:48

Congrats babble
The burning question now is will you be dirtying oven later or having takeout?!Grin
Bathrooms my clean Haven. Only place that's not a cluttered crapheap.my kitchens not fit fir purpose tbh.its housing association and falling apart in need repair, but I not good at coping houseful workmen at best of times so that's shelved til I feel stronger

dp is cooking as we speak, I'm half temped to make a start on the living room but feel obliged to stay in the kitchen just to make sure he's not messing it up, although it has to be said hes a much tidier cook than me, despite me having chef experience. Hallway is now also clear, got that done in 10 minutes!!!. But I do need to sort out the tumble dryer cupboard, bablets have decimated it looking for socks this morning.

Babblehag · 10/11/2016 13:26

zoo I'm also in a housing association house, kitchen isn't in bad nick however it is dated so I have to wait until we get through this next inspection, then they will put us on a lifetime tenancy and we can start changing cupboard fronts and interior doors. Cash permitting of course. were not likely to get a new kitchen until 2020 at the very earliest. I desperately want to change interior doors as they are those horrid brown paper/plywood ones, I want pretty white ones with naice handles.

Sweepingchange · 10/11/2016 16:02

Hello all , haven't caught up properly with thread, just place-marking really as I have certainly done no Flying!

It's been a very sad week here for reasons I won't elaborate on, but just particularly wanted to dive in to send Flowers to Grey and to say that sounds incredibly tough (especially when you are the one at home keeping the wheels turning as it were).

Hope you can replace the boiler soon Whoknows as, I don't know about where you are, but it is freezing here atm!

Great to hear that you are feeling better in yourself Babblehag and congratulations on shiny kitchen!!

Newchick · 10/11/2016 21:39

Busy day running errands here. Ta das:

Shined sink
Swept kitchen floor
2 mins hot spots
Binned old newspapers
1 load laundry on

foxessocks · 10/11/2016 22:26

Hi all! I'm a bit behind on the thread so will catch up properly tomorrow! Been out most of the day so didn't get much done apart from the usual bits and bobs.

Cagliostro · 10/11/2016 22:34

Hi everyone. Sorry not being a good thread leader at the mo! Am a bit all over the shop.

Another early start tomorrow, so here's the links before I forget:

Baby Step 11 - add an inspirational page to your control journal. Or not.

Friday Mission - last one in the kitchen this month, clean that floor but no perfectionism allowed!

Friday's focus is decluttering bags, purses etc. I need to do this again already, how does it build up so fast?!

Right, I should tidy up a bit. Happy Friday one and all!

SC and Cag, hope you are both doing OK too.

Done a bit of detail cleaning today, operation get-straight-for-Christmas is in process I'm thinking long term here Grin

qazxc · 11/11/2016 09:55

Hi everybody,
just recuperating from a nasty bout of gastric bug so things have slipped.
I feel half human today so hopefully will be able to get a few things done.

foxessocks · 11/11/2016 10:59

Ta das
Dishwasher emptied and loaded
Half the washing hung up before ds started screaming!
Kitchen tidied a bit
Living room tidied a bit

Got lots to do but not feeling that motivated at the moment! In a bit of a housework slump I think.

PurpleDaisies · 11/11/2016 11:03

Morning. Thanks for the links.

Ta da's so far
Er, I am out of bed and have eaten breakfast

To dos
Patch test for hair dye
Pick up letter from post office
Quick shop
15 minutes unpacking
Think about dinner

Afreshstartplease · 11/11/2016 11:16

Also in a housework slump here too

So far I've got me and all the DC up fed and dressed. Taken big two to school. Ran some errands and come home.

Can't work out if I have a headache or I'm tired?
3 year old is being extremely wingey which isn't helping
Baby ds just fed and trying to get to sleep

So, I've managed to empty the dryer (and left the dry stuff on the floor) and reload it again

I will move soon ....

Stilllivinginazoo · 11/11/2016 15:15

afresh must be slump Friday!! I've been struggling with my depression all week and done very little.today the day pull it back I said to self.ERM,maybe?!
Decide tackle living room in 10min bursts,I divided room into 6.done 20mins,just put aome music on to try motivate a third attack-thatll be half room sorted(bear mind other half involves sofas and dining table,so thus half gets far messier, other half just has hotspots!!)

Afreshstartplease · 11/11/2016 16:42

Think I've been slumping for atleast a week!

On the plus side I have sorted through dds drawers so over 50% of her clothes , nearly filled a bag for charity and thrown out some tatty things

foxessocks · 11/11/2016 20:47

I managed to do the mission and mop the kitchen floor!! Didn't do much else but still...

Just eaten a lot of biscuits but have stuck to my ten minutes of pilates a day this week so that maybe cancels out a couple of the biscuits at least?!

Newchick · 11/11/2016 21:23

Dickering about on Internet far too much today...

Sink shined
5 mins hot spots
2 lots bedlinen washed and back on beds
2 loads laundry put on
Sitting room hoovered (by DS tho so does that count??!!)
45 mins clearing up back yard

fromwesttoeast · 11/11/2016 23:49

Let me join you in the housework slump! Had a very intense work week so kitchen cleaning didn't get too far, however tonight I've done the cooker hood. So far I have been maintaining the sideboard at the improved state I got it to in half term.
Not slipping back is also a sign of progress!

Cagliostro · 12/11/2016 01:45

Friday slump? Pretty certain I am in a 365 day slump (no wait, 366 this year). :o

I have caught up with the thread now, I don't get a chance to read it as often as I'd like at the moment.

I'm so sorry that many here are struggling in various ways. Sending hugs and a whole lot of ice cream to the naughty corner. I don't like gin either so make a Malibu.

Tomorrow's baby step here

Saturday is family fun day so no missions. Last day in zone 2!

I should sleep.
