Of course, if it doesn't, it's due to my inability to follow simple instructions!

Thanks justivor not got much time to do anything today. I have my work's leaving do at 5pm til I drop tonight and fitting work inbetween. Not gonna get hung up on it though, will just do some tomorrow.

• vacuum downstairs
• nip to shops for milk etc
• make get well card for friend's dd
• bring ds2 to mums and tots this morning

I've done naff all flying really this week so the house is a tip. Off out to a friends this morning and then out to lunch with DH.

Also have a 3yrold birthday party to go to tomorrow so not likely to get anything done. I'm taking the rest of the week off and starting again on Monday.

Havent caught up with the threads. All i see is very long lists , but i hope everyone is ok.

Chloe55 I don't envy you going to a works leaving do. I don't enjoy them myself. Far too often others say things they shouldn't and because I'm sober I remember them whereas they don't as they are drunk!

laloop Good list! I sorted out our card making stuff at Christmas time and I was so embarassed at how much stuff we have though we rarely do anything with it! Dd likes that sort of thing though, so I think I'll encourage her to do some card making.

Dd has finally gone back to school today but I'll probably collect her at lunchtime cos I expect she'll get very tired. It was lovely to see her beaming with delight at being back with her friends - she's really missed school this week. Her cough is still hanging around at night but she's just a bit snotty in the day...I hope she'll be OK...
Ds is at home (but he is anyway on a Friday) and seems much better so far. He's lounging on the sofa watyching Cbeebies atm.

I eventually got the house looking really good last night and yet still by the time I'm home from the school run the place is a tip again! How does it happen?! At least none of it should take long to put right....so, my list is~

~make beds
~clear breakfast table
~empty/reload and run dw
~washing in my new wm x2
~make-up spare bed (PIL threatening to come this weekend )
~change snotty bedding from kids rooms
~quick once-over in kitchen
~mission in porch (really not too bad but will have a quick look)
~sort some work for tomorrow
~make chicken and leek pie for supper
~sit and cuddle kids and watch a dvd

That'll do There's always more jobs on the way so I'll be busy I'm sure.

Well I have sent ds to nursery but dd1 is still poorly, and dd2 is now very snotty and generally not a happy bunny!

My carpets look great this morning! Next time I have a spare £100 or so I might invest in a Bissell!

~Restock the medicine cabinet
~Food shop
~PICK MY CAR UP HOORAY !!!!!!!!! (only took about three months!!!!!)

Hello there everyone!

I have been sulking about my dd not settling at school and it is still not great but getting better. TBH it really got me down and as always I let everything slip including the housework - hence not posting on the threads (but I lurked like crazy!)

satin I think you should take the rest of the week off - bu tthen I would say that! I hope you enjoy the party tomorrow.

shouldbe am guessing you have had a sick dd - poor her and poor you. Am glad to hear she is back at school and things can get back to normal - did you get cabin fever?

ludaloo hi, can't work out what you are talking about - do you have new carpets or clean carpets Happy you are getting your car back - I don't have the car duringt he week and it is very rustrating sometimes - esp. if I have to go to supermarket at 10pm because I am too disorganised for online stuff.

Yay! done almost everything! I have to say that my house looks lovely and perfect today (just don't open any cupboard doors ) I would like to do the clear-out of the understairs cupboard but can't see me getting it done with the lo's around. Otherwise I'm very pleased with myself Getting on top of the housework and it being a lovely sunny day here really does help my mood.

Been to dr's with Dd1. She has chest infection so on antibiotics. Hopefully she will be better soon now.

P.S. I tried describing this thread and its benefits to a houseproud friend on the phone this morning and she didn't get it at all. She said "Why don't you just get on and do it instead of talking about it?" I had to explain that some of us need motivation and we get it from each other.

OH HOW I HATE FOLDING AND PUTTING AWAY WASHING!!! It means I never do it and so always have a HUGE pile to tackle and it took me 40 mins - it is still in the living room in piles as I was so fed up came to check mumsnet before putting away.

d/t my dinning room table is covered in clothes to be put away!! although i did start ironing yesterday boy do i hate it. only tip of iceberg but atleast it is a start.

~ Tried to put washing on line but there is a horrible sewage type smell outside so I've had to bring it all in (about 3 loads that were already out plus the load I was about to put out) and t/d it instead. [cross face]

~ Took sticker off notebook for dd. Tried to do the same with stickers left on bedroom door and wardrobe. Limited success so will go and try again.

Brownies cooked.
Pie in the oven.
Fingers crossed its yummy and DS's like it. They do like shop bought ones!

Oh dear! Brownies are a small disaster! Stuck to the pan so broke apart when taken out!

tort I think broken biscuits eaten fresh are much nicer than perfectly formed ones! Have you tried them? Are they edible?

I got the stickers off the door and wardrobe. I'm currently putting more washing in the machine, tumble drying some then folding it etc etc. I might do some ironing or sewing whilst listening to Neighbours.

They are very edible! Just in broken pieces instead of cut into squares! and the bottom was stuck to the tray!

As predicted dd came home at lunchtime and is now flaked out on the sofa. Ds seems fine so far - I just hope the cough stays away tonight.

Forgot we have to deliver the parish newsletter along our street (should've been done before Feb 1st but it's tough) so we're going to wrap up and have a little walk doing that. It shouldn't take too long and I think we all need the fresh air.

I love choc brownies tort - you're v good at all your baking I've only just remembered to take the pastry for our pie out of the freezer so I hope it'll defrost in time for supper. Kids can have pie filling as a casserole if need be and I can make it into a pie for dh and myself later.

dimpled I hate putting away laundry too - it has to be my least favourite job...never know why cos it's not that hard and everything is clean and lovely. I moaned at a friend about it recently and she said she always hated it and then started to use some lovely smelly water in her iron and now her washing smells so lovely she's happy to cart it about the house! It may take more than that to get me feeling enthusiastic about it though

I love brownies too. Trouble is the kids love them too!
I used frozen pastry for my pie. Defrosts very quickly.

Another one here who hates putting washing away. pile on the stairs that needs to be put away. DS's have a pile to put away too. Expect i will end up doing it!
