ludaloo · 30/01/2007 08:28

morning

I have been meaning to do this for a while so its a good mission for me today.
My other mission is to clean the windows on the inside.

Have to dash as kids need shoes putting on.

See you later xx

shouldbedoingthehousework · 30/01/2007 08:33

Good Morning

I've been up bright and early cos both children have been coughing all night - poor ds was sick he was coughing so badly ( = more laundry - must order wm today or I will go mad)

Both lo's will be off school again - they're fine just now though, running round and playing together...I think it will all change when they burn off this little burst of energy though cos they've been really quite poorly over-night

I'm hoping to get some jobs done today~

~dose kids with Calpol
~make beds
~change bed in our bedroom
~quick clear-up upstairs
~mission in living room
~clear-out understairs cupboard
~ironing
~hoover downstairs
~mop floors
~clean shoes (still haven't done from last week)
~household filing...?

That'll do for starters. See you later

Morning.
D1 home from [re-school today because of cough and slight temp this morning.

Totally ran out of gas now.
I have £27 in the bank and need gas, elec and bread, milk(free with milk token),cheese, crisps, eggs(to make cakes),potatoes, rice crispies and probably more! How the hell am i going to do it? £20 will go on gas/elec.
Got 4 dc to feed tonight and lunch boxes for tomorrow.

Kitchen is a bit messy.Emptied DW. Lots of pans etc to be washed but out of DW tabs. Suppose i will have to boil kettle a few times and fill sink with water and washing liq and wash by hand!

tortoise · 30/01/2007 09:54

shouldbe Hope your dc are better soon. Sorry had a bad night.
Get on and order that wm.

laloop · 30/01/2007 10:04

hi
Hope your lo's are better soon, shouldbedoingthehousework.

I've been quite good so far today, dd and ds1 back to school today so just have the toddler under my feet this morning

  • dishwasher emptied and reloaded
  • worktops, cooker, kitchen table all washed down
  • kitchen floor swept (still needs mopped though!)
  • beds made
  • recycling out for collection
  • have started to de-clutter the living room but that will take considerably longer than 15 minutes, help!

Still to do, but enjoying sitting at pc with cup of tea instead...

  • dusting and vacuuming downstairs (can't be bothered to trail hoover upstairs so that will have to wait another day)
  • more laundry to put on and clean laundry to sort
  • bathrooms to be cleaned

And I really want to fit in a walk or swim before I pick lo's up from school.

shouldbedoingthehousework · 30/01/2007 10:05

Hi tort
Can't order wm without dh Need to find time for him eto come to appliance shop with me - am hoping he'll have a lunch break today when we can go (but it may mean dragging poor dc with us so I'm not sure about that now..) Sorry your dd1 is poorly too - just that time of year I guess...
Sorry too about your money issues - xp1 needs to contribute more when ds's are at your place

I've been getting on...doesn't look much but it's taken a while!

ludaloo I've checked & BM does have dough setting & receipe in book for pizza dough.Thank You
GrouchyThnaks for the tips about pizza toppings. I've had my breadmaker for years. Long before we had Ellie we had visitors most weekend & found it very handy for fresh bread for breakfast. Also used because we both worked long hours.Leaving house 630 most mornings(i only worked 10 mins walk away) and returned 630 at night. Great in the winter, would set timer for bread & have soup at night if very cold.
HN We don't get any free mags or newspapers?
Tort Hope things are better with you today.

EllieHsMum · 30/01/2007 10:15

Tort my post & yours have over lapped. Sorry about that. What if you made a big pot of rice pudding instead of cakes? When you get your mik, Do you have pudding rice, sugar? This is warm & very filling? I always have beans on toast when funds are running low. I am not sure if this of any help.

ludaloo · 30/01/2007 10:16

AAAAHHHHHHHHHH I got momentarily sucked into Isketch...must go do some work!!!!!

EllieHsMum · 30/01/2007 10:16

Hi laloop

EllieHsMum · 30/01/2007 10:17

ludaloo I've not attempted Isketch because I spend enough time on MN.

EllieHsMum · 30/01/2007 10:19

Tort I've just read my post hope it didn't offend. I just wish I could help & give helpful advice. Or offer solutions to money worry.

shouldbedoingthehousework · 30/01/2007 10:22

ludaloo! tut tut! I try very hard no to switch over to isketch until much later... (maybe see you there later - didn't have time yesterday...)

OP posts:
ludaloo · 30/01/2007 10:28

tort I find Pasta very cheap, very filling and goes a long way, when I'm strapped for cash. You can have it with all sorts... The kids eat it with just grated cheese and mayonnaise some days.
Buy potatoes too...you can make loads of meals with a bag of spuds. Jacket pots, potato bakes, wedges, chips, mash...have a good route through for things you have lurking in tins. We had baked pots and a tin of ravioli the other night! (not brilliant but It did the trick.

Not meaning to sound patronising...but it might be something you haven't thought of???

laloop · 30/01/2007 10:30

Lol, don't mention the isketch word, far too addictive , have spent entire evenings on there

Going to have a quick bite to eat (as no breakfast yet) and then get on with my list

grouchyoscar · 30/01/2007 10:51

Morning All

I'm having a maudling day today. I've put on loads of fave but ultimately moving or depressing records and I'm just sitting down.

My Done list today is
Up and washed
Bathroom S&S
Loo S&S
DS up and washed
Make DS bed
Put basket of wet washing to dry
Check rails for dry washing
Empty DW
Make breakfast
Put away
Get dressed
Sort out soaked beans for soup
Clean school shoes

Then...

8:15 and I'm cleaning his shoes, DS is whimpering 'mummy please help' and sobbing
Go to him and he says through tears and whimpers....'sorry mummy, I've done a poo and a wee wee in my pants'
PANIC STATIONS....he starts school at 8:50!!!!
He cried all the way upstairs that it hurt and felt yucky Strip him, wipe up the worst on him, empty pants in loo, chuck them away, get him in the shower, sort out uniform, fish him out, downstairs, gry him, dress him, finish buffing shoes. shoes on, coat on and round to school.

Get home exhausted and start making soup for lunch. Lots of mindless whizzing of the processor and bung it in the pressure cooker
It's hissing away nicely which is quite comforting.

Load dw and run
Take medication for mega wobbly leg occurance and sob my heart out to records that make me think of Chicago.

S*T I've let the soup boil dry....better sort it out

byeeeeeeeeeeee

tortoise · 30/01/2007 11:07

Thanks for tips. No one will eat rice pudding unfortunatly!

Pasta is not a fave in the house either but they do have it sometimes.

No beans in the house.
Right, i will make a list of all the food in the house!

tortoise · 30/01/2007 11:29

tortoise · 30/01/2007 11:53

Washing up by hand done
TD on done
Thats all so far!!

ludaloo · 30/01/2007 12:22

Oh good lord....Had to get Ds from nursery...he had fallen asleep on the cushions! Got him in the car and he puked He is sat watching Pokoyo...with a bowl next to him
Great! I have phoned Dd1's school to see if she is ok...her teacher said she seems a bit pale, but is ok...she'll ring me if she is sick....

My nephew had been sick all weekend...he arrived friday night and was very sick all night. We thought perhaps it could have been travel sickness as they got lost and eneded up being in the car for nearly 8 hours!!!!
Obviously it was a bug! I have just phoned SIL....she has been sick all night...and her Ds is not at school today

I am just hoping we don't all get it all at once! I DON'T WANT TO BE SIIIIIICKKKKKK

ludaloo · 30/01/2007 12:28

tort do you have enough veg and pots, parsnip and yorkshires to do a roast...if you bought a small chicken, you could save the left overs for sandwich fillings or a soup??? You have a chicken stock cube too...that could make some gravy / soup base ???

Sounds crazy, but could you defrost the value cottage pies....mix them together in a big dish and add cheese or gravy...then cook, might make them a bit tastier??

satinshoes · 30/01/2007 12:33

wow. DD2 actually slept well last night and didnt cluster feed all evening. Maybe the growth spurt is coming to an end or it was a one off but it really helped. She slept 8pm-10pm then 11pm-3am then 4am to 6am. My best night so far. She's also been a dream today while we've been out.

DD1 also just been to the loo by herself for the first time and asked for 'carrots & peas' for lunch so I'm feeling like a very good mummy

Before anyone asks this isnt really a bragging post (not too much) but one to say that even when you really low you can have a good day that seems to make everything look a bit better

Tort - what about a fish pie with the fish & frozen veg. would they eat that?

ludaloo · 30/01/2007 12:37

satin Brilliant! Lets hope you get a few more good nights and days...and you aren't bragging...you deserve it!!!

I have hoovered under the sofa, under the cushions on sofa, under the armchair and cushion on there, under the tv cabinet and behind it (eeewww) I only have the computer table left to pull out and get under and behind If I can pull it without dislocating any limbs!!!

tortoise · 30/01/2007 12:52

Oh no Ludaloo, I hope he is ok soon and no-one else gets it.
Yuk!

Don't know about fish pie. How would i make it?
Roast i suppose is possible but don't think enough veg for all.
I think i'm ok for tonight.
Just DD's to feed tomorrow then Thursday i get £70(ish) CTC. Won't be much left after paying other stuff though.

Thanks for trying to help though. Its good to have people i can tell.
