Ok, so stealing Einstein's OP from last month, summer mode hereby continues.

This means:

  1. You are still welcome to join and post
  2. If you want there to be links and no one has posted them, feel free to post them.
  3. As technical thread leader I shall be hanging out in the naughty corner bar when I am around, and there'll be other people in and out too, I'm sure.
  4. We'll still answer questions for anyone wanting information on the fly lady system and support each other. It's just a little more relaxed.

And with that, bring on August and yet more crazy pants school holiday stuff...

Wow still what a busy day.

We had a lovely day out yesterday.

Today's ta-das:

physio visit
hoover and dust living room
sweep kitchen floor
put file of washing away that's been sitting on a chair since Monday or was it Sunday?

MercuryRising · 10/08/2016 14:07

Still I feel tired just reading your list!

Yesterday was pretty much a right off due to ds2 being up every 90 minutes in the night. I was in my pjs most of the day, although we did go and buy weaning supplies ready to start today. He had sweet potato at lunch today and was very eager to try it.

Ds2 is currently having a nap on me so I am catching up on watching recorded programmes and mumsnetting.

This mornings ta das
Washing up/ drying up
Cleaning kitchen sides
Washload done and hung out
Living room chaos tidied
Downstairs hoovered

This afternoon I plan to clean the bathroom and go for a walk with dm and dc before my dad comes over for dinner.

BlueEyeshadow · 10/08/2016 19:06

Big waves to all. Back from amazing translation event/conference/workshop thingy in Cambridge, and not quite ready to get back to reality yet!

Got to get the house straight - boys have been staying with MIL so there are bags and papers everywhere. Also lots of cat-related mess to clear up and garden to water.

Cagliostro · 11/08/2016 12:59

Hey folks. No flying whatsoever here. Took DCs out for DD's circus workshops, they were great but I am in epic pain now. Bah.

I HATE dealing with finance stuff Sad

Waves to all!

CotswoldStrife · 11/08/2016 23:57

Hope the pain eases soon Cag and Sequential - it is so exhausting, it takes all your energy just to get through the day.

I made the mistake of starting to clean out the hall tardis cupboard today, I'm not even halfway through and I need to take some stuff to the tip! Remind me of this the next time I am tempted to stash and dash tidy!

BlueEyeshadow · 12/08/2016 18:58

Sorry to hear your back is bad again, SC.

Got the kitchen vaguely straight yesterday. Today we have been to the beach, so the house is full of sand!

celeste83 · 13/08/2016 07:53

Morning everyone, We've been away for a short break to London this week. Sounds like lots of others on here have been doing holidays stuff mostly this week too Smile We're going swimming today and then doing the weekly food shop. I left the house looking tidy when we left but i need to blitz the bathroom and kitchen at some point this weekend aswell as do the usual weekend chores. Hope everyone has a nice weekend Smile

celeste83 · 13/08/2016 07:57

Oh and inspired by the 'what do you look like' thread on MN last night here is a pic of me. Just wondering what you all look like?

Fledglings flutter vaguely into August - summer mode continues
Cagliostro · 14/08/2016 13:17

Hello Celeste! Nice pic :)

I'm not sharing one of me as I will 1. out myself and 2. break the computer with my ugly mug! :)

I have done pretty much fuck all the last few days. It's taking me a long time to bounce back from our day out on Tuesday, I'm still pretty achy although I'm feeling a little better today so I've put a wash on. DD had a mega meltdown yesterday too, so the day was largely spent trying to prevent the DCs killing each other Hmm. We have played a few board games though and that's been nice.

Stilllivinginazoo · 14/08/2016 16:06

cagare you living my life?I too have done naff all past few days,am struggling and zoolets are pistols at dawn 24/7!!

Celestegreat photo.I have general aversion cameras, but if ever pluck up courage be in photo might be brave enough post as no one i know in real life goes on MNGrin

So ta dad
Empty bin that's overflow in kitchen
Look at laundry moundand choose ignore it
Hear zoolets raising voices see no blood so chose ignore it
Wonder what time is acceptable to go to bed........

celeste83 · 14/08/2016 18:02

Well not much more got done yesterday after swimming and not much has been done today either. I blame the warm and sunny weather. My housework motivation levels go by the way side at the slightest bit of decent weather....this week is forecast to be a cracker too which doesn;t bode well lol.

todays ta ds:

  • stripped the beds
  • put bedding in the wash
  • made the beds
  • put another washing load on
  • washed dishes

There is a huge ironing pile building up in the lounge, the kitchen floor is disgusting, the bathrooms haven't been cleaned for over a week, and ds room looks like it has been ransacked! Blush

Cagliostro · 14/08/2016 18:32

Mercury I'm just catching up on the thread now, I saw your mention of family game night! Yay! Games are very important to me, and it makes me happy that the Caglets are enjoying them too (well, nearly 7yo DS is really really keen, 9yo DD is a bit hit and miss as she finds it hard to concentrate/strategise). What kind of games do you all like playing?

Been enjoying Olympics over the last few days, currently hooked on the gymnastics. Just wow!

I've got 2 loads of washing in the dryer, that's it for Flying, although I've done a bit of (Olympics-themed!) maths and some reading with DCs too. And planned how we are going to make a model of Giant's Causeway. Hmm :o

Sequentialchoring · 14/08/2016 20:55

Hello lovely fledlings!

Thanks for kind words about my back (sorry to hear that you suffer too Stilliving glad to hear you are having a bit of a rest atm - it is your summer holiday too).

Lovely to hear about sand in the carpet Blue and all the summery days out!

Beautiful pic Celeste!

Have been enjoying gymnastics tonight too Cag

Sorry for continuing tale of woe but back having recovered quite substantially, now seem to have some sort of virus (very sore throat, dizziness, nausea, shivers etc) and feel utterly miserable Smile. So frustrating because we are meant to be having second attempt at holiday mid-week (without furry one this time!) Hopefully will be better by then but makes prep a bit harder!

Not helped by dh working all hours (eveyrone else in office on hols!), dd being a complete pita over summer revision (procrastinating and fibbing about it - grrrr) and strange incident last night when police helicopter circled overhead for 40 mins or so, back and forth over our immediate area, with search light on our garden and behind our garden Confused. Lots of sirens and police in street. Dh, given recent events, thought there might be terrorist on the loose, and made us turn off the lights and the telly so we just sat there in silence in the dark. They all went away after a bit though and we have heard nothing since ... .

Here's to getting away for a bit. This holiday is starting to feel quite long first world prob.

Big waves to everyone I've missed!

Oh - as to Flying - in minimal ie "survival" mode atm! Achieving not a lot!

BlueEyeshadow · 14/08/2016 23:22

Ooer, sounds alarming, SC. Hope you feel better soon.

Have a humongous ta da list, because got fed up with the house being a tip just before going on holiday, so between us:

Went to early service (usually do as it's the family friendly one)
Laundry done and dry
Cleaned litter tray
Loads of recycling out to bin
Swept floors x loads
General tidying up throughout
Dusted everywhere
Wiped down units etc in kitchen
Wiped kitchen surfaces
Cleaned bathroom doors
Cleaned boys' bathroom (yuk!)
Cleaned our bathroom (not so yuk)
Cleaned bathroom mirror
Hoovered everywhere (except DS2's room where floor MIA)
Mowed grass
Tidied edges
Dug up loads of thistles Confused
Thorough watering of garden
Cooked roast dinner
Cleaned kitchen again!

Also various family games and phonecalls and a pop to the supermarket got squeezed in there!!

Tomorrow have to call vet, take the car for service and MOT, and do various errands while in town.
