Sorry, I was rushing earlier so I didn't write anything to those who had posted before me.

satin Thanks for starting the thread. I'm glad you had a good sleep last night.

shouldbe You're getting on well with your list. Well done!

Skribble I wondered where all the snot had come into the thread. Reading it back, I can see!

Hello also to mistletoemania, Flame, Jelley, luda, bewilderbeast, DT and EllieHsMum. I hope I haven't missed anyone out.

JustIvor · 19/01/2007 14:32

Thanks EllieHsMum. I feel so much better now that I'm showered and dressed and that the washing up is done, the d/w has been on, the w/m is on, the downstairs has been hoovered a bit etc. Now I just need for the policeman to come and then go so that I can relax! (It's only to talk about people speeding through the village if anyone missed that bit.)

Skribble · 19/01/2007 15:05

Afternoon all,

Sorry about the snot, sheet now washed and about to be hung up.

*So managed to clean my taps and did them with Sheila Shine so they look fantastic and will for a while as it sort of coats them.

  • Cleaned bath too as it had started to develop a sort of grey scummy coating.
  • Cleared out cupboards too and found DH has 12 deoderant sprays on the go and the same amount of aftershaves, chucked 3 empty ones and 5 empty hairgel tubs, argh!!!! *Emptied car of rubbish but still to tackle the melted sticky mass in the rear door pocket.
  • picked up all the rubbish blown into front garden. *pUt cheque from CDhristmas in the bank.
  • Went for a walk and ate home made veg soup for lunch.
  • Phoned up to apply for a couple of jobs.

Not bad for me, feeeling a lot more positive and productive too.

Again sorry about the SNOT references.

JustIvor · 19/01/2007 18:40

EllieHsMum I did witness an assault some time ago, funnily enough. I was shopping in town. I couldn't believe that everyone was just standing watching it happen. The person who did it walked past me so I told him that he shouldn't have done it etc etc. Luckily he didn't wallop me or anything. I went straight to the police station to report it and the person in front of me was the person who had been assaulted and he was grateful that a witness had turned up. I think they caught the chap but I didn't hear what the outcome was.

Dd said on her return home from school "The kitchen looks tidy, Mum" My efforts weren't in vain, then.

I haven't done as much as I'd like to elsewhere and I need to make the kids' beds up, so I'll head off.

Hello luda. Where do you get your coal from? I might have asked you this, before; sorry if I have. I'll write the answer down this time.

ludaloo · 19/01/2007 18:52

Oh Sorry ivor How could I miss you off!!!!??? sorry

I get my coal from several places...last winter we got it from um.... can't remember his name...he's based in the next village up.
He delivered to us every Friday...but he had big sacks he would tip into the bunker in the shed and we found the dust completely awful...by the summer everything in the shed was covered in black sooty dust!!!

We buy it by the bag now...either from our nearest garage (next village on or Stags Head...if you know where that is) Today though I got it from the garage in town...the one on the roundabout by the train station. Less dust in the shed this year!!!!!!! We use Anthracite (sp?) as the fire is enclosed (Parkray)

satinshoes · 19/01/2007 19:19

Bathroom floor looks lovely No more soggy carpet underfoot.

Evening All

Blinking flip you've all been busy.

EllieHMum Mark Kermode does the film reviews on Radio 5, The Culture Show and is often on Newsnight Review. He's the tall bloke with the 50's teddy boy haircut and the Exorcist obsession. He's doing something on the bbc for the Oscar nominations this week. His film reviews are pretty much spot on and this strange MNer thinks he's rather easy on the eye.

This aft jobs

Made bread dough done
Kitchen hotspot sorted done
Tidied utensils away done
Dishwasher on done
DW emptied
Garlic butter made done
pizza sauce made done
Ds dinner (Pizza and garlic bread made done
Ds to bed and story done

Weekend tasks I'm in two minds, Do I take advantage of DH to football/Ds to MIL's for me or do I tackle the touching up of paintwork while small fingers are out of the way?

Well have a plesant evening and a wonderful weekend y'all. I've finished for the day and I've earned my drinkies tonight
