How often do you do these chores......

Ok, so I'm not a complete clean freak but I am also not a slob. My MIL seems to think differently though. I'm just curious as to how often you clean:

Behind/under sofa
Oven
Fridge
Under beds
Scrub skirting boards
Hoover
Mop

Hoovering ever day or 2, but only because I've got dogs. The rest of it... Not much! They're all sort of "deep clean" type things. I try not to let them get too dire though!

When the kids have lost too much and I need to rescue it. Less than once a month.
Twice a year.
Twice a year, or when something has leaked.
Stuff hover under when I hover that room. Pull beds out... couple of times a year.
Errrr, never, unless something has been spilt on them, then patch cleaned.
Once or twice a week.whole house (all tiled) once a week. Plus kitchen, dining room and kids bathroom another once a week.

I vacuum every day, mostly due to cat hair, and also because I think it makes the other mess look a little better.

Steam clean/mop the floors every 2/3 days.

I tend to vacuum the skirting as I go to get the hairs off. Scrubbing the skirting is not something I do as a job, but if I were cleaning and saw marks on there I would wipe them off as and when.

Fridge and oven, once a month maybe.

under sofa - when it needs to be moved for some reason and I see the dust colony/cereal mountain/pen stash thats under there, I clean it then. But not as part of a routine.

Apparently I should be be cleaning:

Under the sofa once a week!!! I've just looked under it, she may have a point!! I haven't been under there in over 6 months

Oven after every use I should give it a wipe down to save the dirt building up.... Really??

Fridge - once a week. I only do it if something smells or I've spilt something.

Under beds - Once a week. I haven't done this since we moved a yea ago.

Scrub skirting boards - Everyday when hoovering
Hoover - Everyday (I do this)

Mop - Everyday - I am ashamed I probably only do this once a fortnight but my MIL has now bought me a steam cleaner (hint hint) to make my life easier!!

Under the sofa everytime i sweep maybe 3/4times a week dog hair is like tumbleweed if i dont underbeds ive been here 6 months and urm never Dd had a bedstand she does it whenshe is hoovering her room i wipe the hob every day and mop as and when . My mum scrubs her house daily like your mil mine looks a tip compared to hers

I wipe the fridge out before we do a big food shop once a month

Behind/under sofa: What do you mean? The sofa doesnt actually move does it?
Oven: when we spill stuff and maybe once every 6 months
Fridge: Inside, once it gets so dirty i think i'd better clean it
Under beds: Is where monsters live and i'm scared of monsters
Scrub skirting boards: < these are english words but ive never seen them in this order before.
Hoover: how many times do i clean the hoover? when its full. how many times do i hoover up? every other day.
Mop: change the mop head every 3 months, mop once a week.

Behind/under sofa - maybe every 6 months
Oven - DH does this about 3/yr
Fridge - I do this about 4/yr (veg drawers get more frequent cleaning - maybe monthly)
Under beds - never under ours (divan), DD's when it gets desperate (she plays under there)
Scrub skirting boards - never! Hoover them occasionally (when deep cleaning)
Hoover - about once/week
Mop - about every week/10 days, more frequently if very muddy and wet weather

I'm not a slattern, but I do work FT as does DH.

We work FT so aren't there to make much mess!

Behind/under sofa - once a month-ish
Oven - few times a year but the hob and door get a wipe after each use
Fridge - few times a year
Under beds - annually, if you're lucky

Hoover - twice a week
Mop - twice a week

Under beds and sofa-are full of stuff, so never vacuumed.
Oven-never, unless major explosion has occurred (we cook very little in the oven and I keep a sheet of foil on the bottom to catch any rogue spills
Hoover-most days a bit (we have an indoor cat)
Skirting boards-dusted every once in a while, scrubbed only if obvs. dirtied with something.
Mop- once a weekish

I have two toddlers who like to play outside and have all manner of sand/water/mud toys so I have to do floors each day. Fridge is done before weekly tesco shop arrives, under sofa scares the crap out of me as laminate so don't want to get spiders! Under beds are clear space so may as well do it when hoovering the room weekly

The rest I say monthly but probably a little less often. They're clean anyway.

Behind/under sofa- every couple of months
Oven- oven pride twice yearly
Fridge- wipe weekly, deep clean every few months
Under beds- twice yearly to get the bits the hover doesn't reach
Scrub skirting boards- you're supposed to do this???
Hoover - every few days
Mop- twice a week

My cleaning is not in a strict rota. Clean under sofas when I move the room around (fairly often due to low boredom threshold) or if I realise I haven't done it in yonks. Oven is an aga and cleans itself (thank the Lord!)
Fridge - when something spills/rots or house guests are likely to rummage around in it.
Under beds - see sofa above.
Skirting boards - sometimes Hoover them especially if drilling something has covered them in dust but scrubbing no! I'd be more inclined to paint them if they were that ropey looking!
Hoover - every day/ few days/ once a week depending on how bored/motivated/stressed/ill I feel.
Mop - floorboards never - far to beaten up to make any difference - I have tried. Kitchen and bathrooms once or twice a week.

Omg sheet of foil on oven floor why have i never thought of that

Behind/under sofa - done once in 18 months, and to be fair that was only because we were decorating
Oven - as above, but have a tray in the bottom so any spills hit that, easier to take out and clean that than clean the oven
Fridge, only if something spills, so far twice in 18 months
Under beds - get as far under as i can when hoovering, but full on move everything has been once since we moved in 18 months ago
Scrub skirting boards - again go over with hoover due to cats, but not actually washed them
Hoover - 3-4 times a week
Mop - once a week ish, steam mop (brilliant thing)

Behind/under sofa - once a month
Oven - husband does it twice a year as oven cleaner makes me wheezy (clean the gas hob after every use)
Fridge - wipe regularly with soapy cloth - only thoroughly empty and clean when I spill something
Under beds - twice a year with husbands help as both beds are massive and hard to manoeuvre
Skirting boards - I wipe them over with a damp cloth each time I clean the room (upstairs rooms one week, downstairs rooms the next, hall stairs &
landing every week)
I Hoover everywhere and mop hard floors three times a week - Mon, Wed & Fri.

I do hope your MIL isn't telling you how you should look after your home. In which case, I'd be inclined to tell her to jog on (politely - or just nod and smile). And why is this stuff you should be doing?

Scrub skirting boards - I Hoover or wipe the skirting boards and banisters every week, but wash them down about twice a year
Hoover - every other day
Mop - twice weekly, spillages permitting

Oven- monthly
Fridge-Weekly
Under beds-Every 8 weeks
Scrub skirting boards-Every 8 weeks
Hoover- Upstairs twice a week/Downstairs Daily.
Mop- Kitchen every other day. Bathrooms, hall etc- weekly.

I do zone cleaning in my house- so each zone gets deep cleaned every 8 weeks. I have 8 zones and my zone cleaning is the stuff like wash skirting boards, Hoover under the bed etc.
I do 15 mins every day of cleaning in whatever zone I'm in, so it's never overwhelming and stops house being a tip ( in theory!).

The only things I don't do weekly from that list is under the bed and sofa.

Under beds* again when I change room about but that could be every 6 months or so*

Oven - varies between every 3/4 months to much less
Fridge - once a year or less, wipe up spills as they happen
Under beds - I don't generally. Did our bedroom a few months ago as there was a smell I couldn't identify or eliminate. It turned out to be my bedside light bulb.
Scrub skirting boards - I don't scrub them. I give the en-suite & downstairs loo ones a wipe over every few months, mop the hall & conservatory ones when I mope those hard floors and ignore the rest.
Hoover - generally once or twice a fortnight.
Mop - probably once every 2 months or so.
(I sweep the hard floors - hall, kitchen & utility most days)

Behind/under sofa - weekly underneath but only as far as the vacuum hose reaches, I don't move sofa and don't do behind it

Oven - when the kitchen fills with smoke

Fridge - when it smells

Under beds - never

Scrub skirting boards - never

Hoover - weekly

Mop - fortnightly at a push
