ludaloo glad you found the shoe It's the first place I would have looked

I find waxing my eyebrows less painfull than plucking, also much quicker. The more you have it done the less painfull it is. Had Bikini Line done once, now that was painful!

Not happy

Things going great. I tidy Ds's toys away and get him ready for a bath. I check his hair and

LICE!

He's been back at nursery 2 days

So lots of combing and showers (him and me)

Stripped his bed clothes. 1 load in wm and one load waiting

Tomorrow's mission is no longer touch up chipped paintwork but make call to school and head for the chemist

Not happy, at least dinner smells fab (thanks DH)

Have fun flyers

tortoise · 16/01/2007 20:39

Oh dear Grouchy.
TBH I have never gone as far as stripping beds because of nits. Its a normal things for kids to catch so i wouldn't worry too much. I don't think treatments are the best either. Wet combing with conditioner are more effective at clearing the lice.

All DC in bed now and DW on.

JustIvor · 16/01/2007 21:53

Sorry to hear about the nits grouchyoscar. I have never stripped the beds for it before, either. They live on the head to be close to the blood source (the nits I mean) don't they? I used to strip the bed more regularly for threadworms, you're not thinking of this, perhaps? For getting rid of nits, I didn't used to use treatments either. I used to wash the hair and dry it and pick through it with my nails, running them along the strands to get the eggs off and picking out and drowning the lice. Am scratching just thinking of it. It worked with dd even when she had shoulder length hair. I think I did it at least twice daily until they had all gone. I know lots of people wet comb but I used to see them better on dd's hair when it was dry and I could feel the eggs on my nails when dragging them off the hair strand, too. Hth.

tortoise · 16/01/2007 21:58

DD2 awake coughing again. DD1 keeps coughing too but is staying asleep so far! Think im in for a long night again.

grouchyoscar · 17/01/2007 03:11

Stressed out, can't sleep. Just annoyed about the nits. I've coped with them before and all was fine but I have this feeling it will be a weekly occurance until his school tackle the issue.

I know I didn't have to strip everything, it was the impetus to stop putting it off. At 1am I was sorting out the laundry, putting some to dry and loading the not so wet stuff in the dryer. I even defluffed the dryer, another chore I'd been ignoring.

This morning I'll grab the treatment from the chemist and I'll concoct a spray of tea tree and witch hazel to mist ds with every morning.

Ds has a huge mop of hair, when he was blonde he looked like a mini Brian Jones and now, well he looks like Shaggy! It suits him so much and I will not get it cropped despite pressure to do so.

I'm rambling! Camomile tea is calling. See you after the chemist

Jelley · 17/01/2007 07:38

Grouchyoscar - I really hope you went back to bed. You must be shattered.
