Do you know, I almost want to go back and do some of those days again to see if I could do anything to make it go better now I'm older and know more about breastfeeding than I did when I was actually doing it! I remember the antenatal class that dh came to which was about bfing. He said that they didn't tell him anything he didn't know already from his dairy farming lectures and I had to agree that I didn't learn anything I didn't know from my dairy lectures either! I'm sure there is lots more to it that we should learn about than just the mechanics of milk production!

What I'm getting at in my roundabout way is that I was determined to bf but it was so hard some (well, lots) of the time. I was so tired. My sisters all bf and one is now a LLL leader. Its a shame I lived far away from all of them or I could have got some advice and a bit of rest, instead dh, ds and I were on our own. If you have any specific questions you want me to ask my sister, let me know and I'll try to get answers for you.

JustIvor · 16/01/2007 09:03

Sorry, I forgot to put satin's name at the start of my last post.

ludaloo · 16/01/2007 09:24

good morning everyone

Its so busy on here!

ivor glad you are feeling better....I had avoided emailing you as I thought you might not appreciate the extra computer reading!!! But if you need anything getting or anything doing...do let me know

satin I sympathise totally with night feeding! I BF all my three wee ones. Dd1 was the hardest, as I had no idea what I was doing...we had a very stressful three or four weeks while we both got past the struggle of me having one side inverted and Dd1 having tongue tie We kept at it though and she was 18 months when we finally stopped. The other two went much better.
I have always had them in our bed as It suited the whole family much better. Night feeds could just carry on and not disturb the whole house. It is so exhausting though, especially when they wake so often. All mine woke at two hour intervals until they were on solids...perhaps longer!! With both my girls I was a substitute dummy (especially so with dd1)ds actually had a dummy......
You sound like you are doing a sterling job though...well done you

Anyway......rambling on as usual!

Today I have to:
~Do washing
~Do dishwasher
~Dust bathroom
~Tidy kids rooms
~Find ds's shoe!!
~Put shoe rack together and put it in the hall (dh has FINALLY moved the broken computers from the hall!)

have a good day everyone

EllieHsMum · 16/01/2007 09:39

Hi Shouldbe Back much improved Thank You. It was very hard picking up & carrying MadamePrincessPowerNap. I was bent over like Mrs Overall. Woke up last Tuesday & I could straighten rather than bend forward. My MIL arrived last Tuesday evening until Sunday morning. But I was on the mend by this point. My Mum was supposed to come but she got the horrible flu thing
We both have the remainder of the flu thing lots of snot morning & evening, plus lots of coughing for Ellie. She didn't sleep well last night. Out of frustration more than anything, she kinda grunts with anger at the end of each cough bless her.
Anyway better get on, hope you do well with your list today.
L & El.x.x.

EllieHsMum · 16/01/2007 09:40

DimpledThighs · 16/01/2007 10:07

Quootiepie home made face pack tell us more! Avocado and honey?

Jelley this thread moves so fast that if I don't check in I miss out on loads of goings on and catching up seems so daunting. Gald I am not alone!

glitterfairy you are on fire at the moment - I can't get the energy going at this time of year and mumsnet is so much more fun than housework! YOu are going to run out of stuff to do! How do you keep yourself going? Share tips please for me and invisiblesparrow

satinshoes you are more than allowed to be knackered with such a tiny baby - have a nice relaxing day. TYou are doing SO WELL with the breastfeeding. Keep yourself rested and fed and watered after a heavy night like that. You are doing fab!

justivor glad you are better and the antibiotics kicked in. I always have some of those probiotic drinks after I have finished the course to get all teh good bacteria back in my tummy. DP says I am terribly gullable! (sp)

shouldbe WOW! good list girl - am very impressed. Maybe I should bite the bullet and just make a huge list like you and Elliehsmum (hope your back feels better soon!) - will get me off my bottom too.

ludaloo SHOES! I remember one premenstral day dp where he asked me what was wrong and I burst into tears say why do I spend so much of my life looking for other people's shoes?! such is life!

shouldbedoingthehousework · 16/01/2007 10:21

I am becoming a lover of lists
I used to tease my SIL who makes endless lists for everything. That's me now

grouchyoscar · 16/01/2007 10:38

Hello Flers

I'm loving this new attitude towards housework. I'm getting so much more done with hardly anymore effort. Slooshing the loo and shining the (unshiny) sink are really 2nd nature now and I hardly ever go up/down the stairs without taking/bringing something with me.

Progress today

Showered and dressed
DS washed and dressed
Wm emptied and organised
DW emptried and reloaded
Put away
Vac downstairs
DS to school
Table wiped
11ses made and cuppa
File paperwork
Lunch in oven (OK, just baked spuds)

Got to collect DS at 11.20 so I'll get some toys out for him

Oh, I'll sew the button on later!

grouchyoscar · 16/01/2007 10:39

Flyers even

ludaloo · 16/01/2007 10:49

~Do washing 1 load in
~Do dishwasher done
~Dust bathroom
~Tidy kids rooms
~Find ds's shoe!!
~Put shoe rack together and put it in the hall (dh has FINALLY moved the broken computers from the hall!) done

I cannot even recognise my hall!!!!!! It looks great! It has been full of old computers for absolutely ages!!!! Now it has been hoovered, shoe rack is tidy...and there is now room in the cupboard for the pushchair and the hoover

dimpled I soooo know how you feel!..no shoe found yet!!!!!! It has to be in this house somewhere!!!!

Well done to everyone! These lists are brilliant!
Grouchy Your daily achievements still amaze me...I'm glad it is getting easier!

JustIvor · 16/01/2007 11:21

Jelley I'm not alone, then! Of course, dd was born the day ds turned 15mths so it all started all over again; but much easier the second time around.

DT I eat a yogurt every day and they are either the Llaeth y Llan Live, Yeo Valley Bio Live or the Rachels Dairy which is a pretty good one too. Thanks for the reminder as I'll be sure to keep to the one yogurt a day when the abs finish.

luda Thanks for your post. I'll certainly bear it in mind.

To all who have put done on parts of their list, Well Done!

satinshoes · 16/01/2007 11:41

Thanks everyone, especially ivor. Useful to know of a LLL contact. I bf DD1 for 8 months - i think ym technique etc is fine, it is just the sheer volume of feeds that my mind had forgotten about....

I should be back tonight, so see you all later.

HazelNuts · 16/01/2007 12:06

EllieHsMum · 16/01/2007 12:08
