Hi Jelley, hope you've had a better nights sleep

I have no kids for till midday (and dh is even doing the school run for me!) so need to ~

~make beds
~clean upstairs bathroom
~mop floors
~mission
~washing x2
~ironing
~quick pick-up-and-put-away session upstairs
~post first Thank you letters (very late )
~collect ds and friend from pre-school and bring them back to play
~still need to try to do household paperwork (this is my new utility room )

think that'll keep me on top of things. Didn't shine my sink or tidy kitchen before bed last night cos I was too tired but have regretted it this morning Will try harder tonight

JustIvor · 11/01/2007 09:17

Xposts. Hi grouchyo andivor

I used to let the dds paint in the garden in their underwear, and put them straight in the bath when they were little...not a great idea in January though.
DD2 is 6 and I think she wants to stop rainbows because she knows brownies is much better (she's right). She's going to keep it up a bit longer now

Hello everyone

Your lists are soo long already!!!

I have to:
~Get petrol
~Meet Ivor
~Get home to do a load of washing
~Do dishwasher
~Change beds
~Hoover upstairs and down
~Prepare Dinner

Have to dash so I don't stand Ivor up!!!

See you all later

shouldbedoingthehousework · 11/01/2007 09:37

grouchyoscar I've always let kids paint outside in the garden too - they can make as much mess as they like on the grass! Not sure of a solution for January though...have you got/seen those sets which you paint on with water and the picture magically changes colour ?(like the old magic paint books from when I was small, but better cos you can re-use them) No mess as only water used. We have a Thmas one that my ds (also 3) really enjoys
jelley I'm pleased you're getting some rest. Glad your dd is sticking with Rainbows - if she's 6 it can't be long before she'll go up to Brownies anyway (don't they go at 7?). My dd had a great evening at Rainbows last night and came home with her first badge a friend dropped her home for me so neither dd or myself know what the badge is for or where to sew it (she's new so doesn't have the tabard thing to wear yet!)
ivor have fun with luda

~make beds done
~clean upstairs bathroom done
~mop floors going to wait till kids are in bed
~mission
~washing x2 one load in
~ironing
~quick pick-up-and-put-away session upstairs done
~post first Thank you letters (very late )
~collect ds and friend from pre-school and bring them back to play
~still need to try to do household paperwork (this is my new utility room )

shouldbedoingthehousework · 11/01/2007 09:37

hi luda sorry, x posts

grouchyoscar · 11/01/2007 11:19

Taking it easy....Pah!

We have a 4" wide alcove in our front room, shelved from floor to 8.5 ft ceiling. It's full of CDs (bottom 3 shelves for DS's toys in wicker baskets. Great idea for flexi storage but it has become a dumping ground.
So
Ds occupied by cyber lego (and bamzooki...oi you, you're 3)...freeish time...I'll clear it up!

90 mins later I've moved redundant technologies (to DH office) Footy programmes (DH office) Greetings Cards (bin or treasure boxes)books (piled up) instruction pamphlets (DH again) and refiled the Cds. It looks great but as DH's office is 2 floors up, I'm a touch pooped now.

Must train DH. I think the house is better for my flying.

The kitchen awaits DS's artistic endeavours again but with solid block paints. We have let him do huge 'Jackson Pollocks' on lining paper in the garden before but as it's blowing a gale outside I must compromise (No, not Damien Hirst's in the kitchen, I'm out of fish tanks) as I'm doing nothing for the rest of the day

tortoise · 11/01/2007 13:23

Hello everyone.
All ive done today is walk DD1 to pre-school, Walk home, Do 1 hour Davina Exercise DVD , Then walk all the way back up the hill to get DD1!
My legs hurt!!

Just had lunch.
After Neighbours i will put the piles of washing away. That should take me a few hours! Lol!

tortoise · 11/01/2007 14:37

OK I've put it off for too long! Time to sort the piles of washing and put them away.!

Why is it everyones worst job?

ludaloo · 11/01/2007 14:50

Hello

I have:
~Get petrol done
~Meet Ivor done
~Get home to do a load of washing done
~Do dishwasher done
~Change beds not done yet
~Hoover upstairs and down not done yet

~Prepare Dinner done ivor...Hope you had a good afternoon lovely to meet you!!!

Not long to go before I pick DD1 up from school...she has an after school club at 5pm which I forgot all about!!!

Everyone has been getting through their lists really well!!
tort I too have washing piles to put away! I really do hate this job...I always put it off but I will have to do it later otherwise the piles will just become a mess and I won't be able to tell what is clean or not!!!!

grouchyoscar · 11/01/2007 15:11

worst household job...cleaning out the cat litter. We keep the cat litter in the old coal cellar and we are supposed to take it in turns but DH puts it off, and off...and off so I end up doing it all the time. Even when I was pg!

He is a lazy and inconsiderate lump at times...well a lot of the time but I'm stuck cos I love him (silly me)

I hate doing the ironing...waste of existancew imho

tortoise · 11/01/2007 15:20

Most of the washing has been put away. Didn't feel like it took that long.

Grouchy I'd much rather iron than put the bloody stuff away!

luda Whats Ivor like then?

grouchyoscar · 11/01/2007 15:29

Tort...good point, the stuff looks fab post iron, I put it away and notice all the previously ironed stuff looks like I never bothered

shouldbedoingthehousework · 11/01/2007 15:38

hello all

I haven't done any ironing yet but should at least sort through some laundry from the tumble drier...putting washing away is my least favourite job - not sure why though cos it should be satisfying to see all the lovely laundered things going back into wardrobes and drawers.... Don't mind ironing as long as there's somrthing good on the radio/tv while I do it.

dd has come out of school in a very bad temper - tired again I think, so another early night is called for. She's currently in her bedroom till she can be civil to me

~make beds done
~clean upstairs bathroom done
~mop floors too muddy out will wait
~mission done
~washing x2 done
~ironing
~quick pick-up-and-put-away session upstairs done
~post first Thank you letters (very late ) done
~collect ds and friend from pre-school and bring them back to play done
~still need to try to do household paperwork (this is my new utility room )avoiding

no flying done as pretty rubbish day but just wanted to say to ruby hang in there. hopefully things will get better. so sorry about your cat. We had to do it in February and it is the worst thing. We got a kitten a few months later and he's cost us a fortune with castration, fleas & all the garb to get rid of them and now an eye infection this week. Hope your MIL starts to improve soon too.

ludaloo · 11/01/2007 16:32

ruby Oh I'm sorry to hear you've had such a bad day!!! It must be so upsetting for you all with MIL in such a state! I'm sorry about your cat too...what a day {{HUGS}} for you xx

shouldbe My dd1 comes home with an attitude sometimes and she is only 5...It doesn't help when they are tired.

tort ivor is lovely (and she is much prettier than deirdre barlow too)My ds thought she was great...he called her "the happy lady" in the car on the way home

grouchy your ds sounds like he is having a whale of a time...I only get the messy stuff out when I am brave enough!

JustIvor · 11/01/2007 16:38

Sorry Ruby and shouldbe that you're not having a good day. I hope things are better for you tomorrow.

tort I was going to come on here to post that luda is, in fact, a hairy handed trucker called Dave ... ... but I had to walk the dog first. I'll wait to see what she says about me before I decide whether I stick to that story or not!

~ finish brekkie done

Hello again luda. Good to meet you! We'll do it again (if you're still talking to me after my little joke above!)

JustIvor · 11/01/2007 16:45

Ooops, x posted with you luda. I'm glad that your ds liked me. Perhaps he won't mind us meeting again sometime, then. Once I've finished sorting out the house, perhaps you could come here. In the summer time, maybe, unless anyone is allergic to cats and dogs?
