Quootie - Is your sink shiny?

Ruby - Sorry to hear MIL is worse, but good that she is getting all the right care.

shouldbe - Big round of applause for the utility room

There was too much to read on yesterdays thread, so I've forgotten loads. Sorry.

kids are back at school today, so I will get more done, hence all the faces
dp drank about 4 pints of milk in the night though so I will have to give the dds toast for breakfast, or take them to the shops now so they can have porridge. I think I'll let them decide.

Morning! Been up since 6 and lurking around here for the thread - don't feel like I'm qualified enough to start one myself!

Off to work today but the plan for this evening when I get in is to sort out some washing, dinner, bath and bed for DD, washing up and sink and general tidying round.

My bedroom badly needs doing, as does the huge ironing pile in the hallway so might have a little go at these tonight.

Feeling much better today after the exam last night so going to go in to work and just try and have a good day. Not easy when you work with a bunch of bitches .

Lazylou · 03/01/2007 07:45

Oh and it would be great if someone could point me in the direction of Zone 1 please...

Jelley · 03/01/2007 08:08

Zones for lazylou

I'm glad the exam wasn't too bad. It's amazing how the right stuff comes back to you when you need it.
Hope you have a good (as it can be) day at work.

Morning all!

Hotspots okay. We have a tiny hall and it was overhauled on the mission on monday so am feeling a little jobless.

jelley - hope the children got off to school alright and secretly hope they went for toast - the idea of the shop first thing [shudder]!

lazylou I lurked for ages too, but really not as hard as it seems, was amazed at how easy it is to do a tiny bit each day. a lot of my house still looks ransacked but I hope I am slowly improving. Don't think about the things too much, just get on with them.

Me wednesday:

-WM
-DW

  • finish dc's rooms
  • sort some of my clothes
  • hoover downstairs and upstairs
  • swish swipe bathroom and kitchen
  • dd to friends to play
  • get shopping in ready for tomorrow packed lunches

Have alsos tarted new year diet today to get rid of a few christmas pounds - so no choclate rewards for completing my list.

Jelley · 03/01/2007 08:11

Jobs for today

shine sink
put away clean washing
iron dds school shirts (they look like I left them to dry in the washing machine)
hotspot on computer table

shouldbedoingthehousework · 03/01/2007 08:35

Morning!

Thanks Jelley - just wandered into the utility room to load the wm and felt very pleased with myself for finally getting it all lovely and tidy. It's silly but these things really make a difference, don't they?
Lazylou, have a good day at work. Glad the exam went well despite the initial memory loss! I remmeber that blank feeling once presented with an exam paper!
dimpled have a good day - no chocs for me either, we've just finished the last of the Christmas chocs so that's it, no more for me for a while (...well, maybe the odd treat )

Last day of the holidays for the kids today so need to give them some fun. but also need to -

Iron school uniform, load up bags and sort out stuff for packed lunch
change beds
put away washing and sort out odd socks (where do they keep coming from?)
order new socks for kids (they only have odd ones!)
hoover and dust downstairs
hoover and dust upstairs
clean kitchen

Hi, I've not been on this thread for ages but I'm back as my house is a tip. DD1 is back to school today so the house is going to get a major overhaul. I will do the mission and then on to sort out my lounge. If I can get that done, then at least I'll have one decent room tidy.

satinshoes · 03/01/2007 09:59

Morning all.

Another rubbish night's sleep but DD1 got off to preschool ok and DD2 slept through it.

My sink is shiny, I've done a load of washing, dishwasher is on and now I'm having a cuppa and a rest.

Have a good day all.

mistletoemania · 03/01/2007 10:18

welcome back boomie, and welcome mistletoemania - i would unsubscribe from the emails and just check the website. this thread links daily anyway.

well, i have just blitz my hallway and in 10 mins I have cleaned all the skirting boards, light switches, doors, door handles, and shelves. I have hoovered it, and sorted out the coat rack.

That's me done now for the day unless I get a burst of inspiration later.

grouchyoscar · 03/01/2007 11:27

Quootiepie · 03/01/2007 11:41

no. Im soooooooooo tried, but, ill go do it now while DH is out at a meeting. Got 1/2 way last night. Supposed to be dressed up to lace up shoes by now Maybe this afternoon... I have a splitting headache for some reason RIght, off to finally do my sink fully.

Jelley · 03/01/2007 11:59

New FLYers - the list thing isn't really a FLY lady thing, it just helps some of us.

If you go and read the babysteps, that may help, but whatever you do, it won't last, unless you stop using your house!

we do the shiny sink, then gradually expand and make a routine that works for you.
Most of us cancelled the emails after a while, and few of us wear lace up shoes in the house
Each week has a zone to concentrate on, and this week is entrance area and dining room.

The idea is to gradually declutter and then maintain a tidier house. Mine is often still a mess, but I can get it looking respectable alot quicker now.

Quootiepie · 03/01/2007 12:00

Sink is full now, just another 45 mins and ill empty, clean and shine

mistletoemania · 03/01/2007 13:05

thanks for the tips and welcome. 15 minutes goes so quickly using timer on cooker have girls dressed washed and well now lunch. have shined my sink and done kitchen surfaces. girls are finishing off lunch whilst i am on computer. lazy town now on hoorah!!

have wash on and dishwasher on should be finised.

going to do hall quickly not too bad as had party 23rd and removed alot of coats etc.... peoples coats. upstairs is nightmare.

off to unpack still have to take down tree and dec and hoover and go to post office and get stuff in for school lunches. don't face i can face a big shop.

15 minutes really gets you going except full of lunch now and hard to get started again.

need to buy a timer mobile phone has one. need one upstairs. This is great as i can so relate to all you say. upstairs awaits!!!

ludaloo · 03/01/2007 13:12
