I really need to start flying again - house is a tip!

My News Year Resolution is to learn to fly as I am also living in a tip

Happy New Year all you FLY-ers! Hope everyone's well...I hope to read the threads from the past few days later if I get the time

Right, this is it - New Year, new organised me!
Despite being up till the early hours this morning I seem to have woken up early and so have spent the past couple of hours re-organising dd's bedroom (she was awake too of course!) and it looks so much better for it. Next is a quick go at ds's tiny bedroom (box room so not much to do in there) and then I really am going to tackle the dreaded utility room! today. I think that'll count as the coat closet- yay! Dh goes back to work tomorrow so I need to make the most of him being around to help put up a couple of shelves and some coat hooks. I'll also get the kids washing the front door if it's not too cold outside....

I need to get some proper structure to my time with housework and also doing things such as menu planning before heading to the supermarket....any advice very gratefully received from anyone!

Hello and a Happy New Year to all!

I'm the only one up so far and have been tip-toeing around so as not to wake the others. I don't know what to do today. I very rarely do the actual mission. I'd like to do some washing but there's a superstition about washing on New Year's Day, isn't there? My list:-
~ hoover the whole house
~ maybe sort out the coats and stuff
~ sort out some of the outstanding paperwork

DS (7m) is on the move! not crawling, but very close to doing so. he's rolling his way around the living room, grabbing everything in his reach, DP's feet atm! so, today i am going to child proof the room more.

oh and i bought a nice widescreen tv. it's fab! we had a really old crappy tv before.

shouldbe LOL your Utility Room is a bit like my Wardrobe saga! I have been meaning to do wardrobes for weeks and weeks!! Hope you manage to find the umph to do it...I MUST do the wardrobes today!!!!!!!

Whats the superstition about washing? I HAVE to do at least a load other wise I'll be struggling !!! Will I be cursed??

New TV....nice! My friend has had a new one...its like walking into a cinema when you go into her living room! MAD!

I'm not going to have much success with the mission.....My hall is cluttered with:
2 computer hardrives (waiting to be collected by DH's friend)
1 computer monitor...also waiting to be taken away
1 video player (doesn't work)
1 Sky Digital box (also doesn't work)

DH is supposed to be doing something about this but so far.......nothing

take down Christmas cards
do mission (including take down wreath from door that I forgot last week)
Decorate birthday cake
bath dds
clean bathroom

Shouldbe - my remnants from starting FLY that are still working for me are a page from a calendar on the fridge with daily jobs on each day (today is mop, bins, bath kids, bathroom) and the menu plan.I write a general plan weekly on my calendar and write a list for ingrediants I need before I go shopping, then I add essentials, and things we are running low on through the week, and do a shop on Saturdays. If you search the archives thereis loads of stuff on here about menu planning, but I find really simple works for me.

Well I said I would come back in the new year. Am going to do the mission each day and not dwell on it too much (am a great dweller me!)

asleep We got a widescreen tv a while back and it makes it so much nicer (our old on showed everything in black and red!) - now your 7m is on the move you will need to keep some screen wipes handy!

ludaloo Happy new year - your dh sounds a lot like mine - I don't understand why we seem to have lots of metal boxes of technology mostly used as doorstops. We have had a computer case thing by the back door for a month now! Tempted to collect it and dump it all on his computer chair!

-tidy round and redistribute christmas stuff (must get back to normal as dd starting school on thurs)

I have also cleaned the patio doors...bought a fab cloth from Lidls..AquaPur Microfibre cloth...its brilliant for windows and mirrors. (and I've just noticed...its machine washable too!)

Not much FLYing done. But, I have taken down the baby congrats cards and we've been out and order a new vinyl floor for the bathroom (getting rid of carpet. yey.

DH cooking lunch. Dd2 asleep (finally). Dd2 watching tv.

got up at 7 (thanks ds) and by 1:30 I'd

Mopped the bathroom floor
Put laundry up to dry
Put load of washing on and put it up to dry
Swept and mopped front room
Swept and mopped kitchen, tidied the table
Cleaned inside of front room window
Emptied and reloaded D/W and put away
Made cooked breakfast for me and DS, tidied it up
Played with DS
Cleaned hob and oven of smeg range
Emptied D/W and put away (again)
Tidied DS room and made his bed
Tidied and put DS toys away.

Think I deserve a sit down and some MN ing

This aft I have to prep veg and joint for dinner and do my physio exercises

not making great strides as yet - have done WM then took children to the park and they got really muddy and so now have to do an extra load - actually what am I doingon here - no more mn until kitchen and sitting room done!

oh dear...Everyone else is doing well...so far today I have...played on computer and emptied ds's wardrobe ready to be re-loaded in some kind of orderly fashion.... no progress made to utility room Must get in done soon or I'll go crazy!

3 loads of washing done...just got to put it all away now.

Dh is home and is sorting through a big box of photos! Some of him and I when we were oh so young and in love! WE look so happy!!!
Still happy but no longer look so young!!
Photos of my dd1 when she was tiny...dd2 is the absolute double!!! I think we have managed Cloning!!!!!!!!!!
