sounds like a brilliant plan lazylou!!!!!!

ludaloo · 28/12/2006 17:21

Tort...don't give up we are all here to help ( well I try to anyway)

I'll help you make a start......

asleep · 28/12/2006 17:21

i found it helpful to work around a room clockwise. i start by the door and dust/wipe & tidy as i go around. i take every bit of rubbish and stuff that doesn't belong in the room out and it goes straight in the bin or it's proper place (if it has one!). also, doing a load of laundry a day really helps.

OP posts:
Lazylou · 28/12/2006 17:25

Thanks for the tip asleep. Am planning on doing one load a day and hopefully that shouldn't make it such a horrid chore to look at over the weekend!

Wow, starting to feel all buzzed up about this now!

Lazylou · 28/12/2006 17:25

Really looking forward to tomorrow's thread !

ludaloo · 28/12/2006 17:27

I do cheat quite a bit too...

Baby wipes make brilliant duster/cleaning thingys

Have at least one junk drawer that you can shove crap into that doesn't seem to have a home

I do tend to throw lots out...if I haven't used it or its broken...then out it goes

asleep · 28/12/2006 17:29

oh yes, if it's not beautiful, useful or really sentimental, it goes.

OP posts:
ludaloo · 28/12/2006 17:29

And the dishwasher is brill for cleaning plastic toys...and dishcloths....

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 28/12/2006 17:31

Its not your fault Ludaloo.
I just feel so useless at everything!

ludaloo · 28/12/2006 17:38

Oh Tort...please don't feel useless! From what I have gathered from this thread you are a brilliant mother...you have wonderful children, you are caring and kind, you have a lot to deal with at the moment money wise and emotionally...you are not useless! You are doing fantastically well!
You have had a great christmas...thats not being useless!!!!

Who cares if your house needs a bit of order...your kids are happy and healthy...things will pick up for you Tort, just keep on top..and try to focus..if you start letting things slip..and give up, then you'll just go down a very slippy slope.
You are doing Fab Tort....Don't feel shite...you are just going through a tough patch. You are doing Very Well in my opinion. I read your posts and I have nothing but admiration for the way you deal with things...don't give up

Lazylou · 28/12/2006 18:06

Ok, I have now sorted out all the washing for today, the bleach is in the sink doing it's thing and I am now doing dinner at the same time as sorting through the toy box. Going well.........

Skribble · 28/12/2006 18:22

If it's not beautiful, useful or really sentimental, it goes!!!!

I want a big sign with that printed on it, in fact I may print my own and get in laminated . DS is terrible for sentimental stuff though, I tried to throw out a little kinder egg thing that was missing a wheel he said it was sentimental argh!!

ludaloo · 28/12/2006 18:23

Lazylou....you are a natural!!!!!!!
Keep at it
(p.s. you will love your shiny sink! I clear everything off my drainer and shine that bit too...I then get histerical if anyone puts anything in the sink)

Skribble · 28/12/2006 18:25

My MIL was making me cringe over christmas, she sort of surrounds and fills the sink with dirty stuff and then starts washing while there is still dirty stuff lying on the draining board WTF are you doing woman, wipe it all down this instant, no I bit my tounge really. FIL made soup so I just hid until he was finished it was too much to bear . Considering the state of my house I do have a cheek .

ludaloo · 28/12/2006 18:27

lol

satinshoes · 28/12/2006 18:52

lol Skribble at your ILs.

I have to share what my MIl said when she came to look after DD when I had baby.

"I wanted to help you with the housework but the place is spotless"

She did help me keep on top of the washing and was a godsend with DD but I was grateful for the FLY influence....

Am hoping it wont take long to get back into it in the New Year when DH goes back to work - impossible to stick to it with him here

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 28/12/2006 20:34

Evening all.

The day started with not many post then there is 92 now I think I have taken some of them in

Tortoise Now listen here.!!!!! First very big {{{{{{{Tort}}}}}}} You have done very well. Better than I have as I had to have help from HNtree. You do everything yourself!! So you are the best of us all I would say

Welcome to all the newbies

Welcome back SQUAT I did wonder what had happened to you. I don't know how I would cope now if I lost my computer. I love to see whats going on in MN. I bit of MSN ( a great friend and looking online for bits and pieces.(thats my window shopping )

Dc are all much better now. They have all been playing and eating me out of house and home as they say!! Which is good to see

BUT

I have the dam bug again now. Lucky the DC were not wanting a cooked cooked meal today. There was no-way I could cope with cooking something. Beans on toast was not great to smell at lunch time, and they had hot nipples at tea time. I`m not drinking much as water tastes Crap!
Next door got us some milk and bread. I was going to walk to town but as we started to walk into town she came out. She seen I was looking green and TOLD me to get in doors and that she would get it. She also told me off for not asking in the first place.
Satinshoes I hope you are feeling better now.
glitterfairy All 3 of my DC had the bug again over Christmas. We all had it 2 or so weeks before Christmas. I thought everything would be ok for Christmas then. But now we have all had it a 2nd time. Me just getting the start of it at 4am this morning.

Oh tort I still have ringing ears

Lazylou · 28/12/2006 20:44

I must say that my sink does look rather lovely

shouldbedeckingthehalls · 28/12/2006 22:09

Evening all

Hello new FLY-ers, welcome I haven't got time to read through who everyone is properly yet but hello [wave emotion}

I've done nothing on the housework front today - beds weren't even made this morning BUT, did go out for lunch and found nice shop selling baskets so bought some in the hope of sorting dd's bedroom which has been annoying me for ages (she has so many toys with small parts - playmobil, barbie shoes, silvainian families...).

Have to work all day tomorrow so won't get anything done then either. But am gee-ed up and ready for some serious tidying on Saturday (am hoping my brother will take kids out for at least part of the day so dh and I can make good progress)...just hope I can keep this mood - if I wasn't worried about waking dd I'd be in there now tidying!

Am off to bed in a minute cos I have an early start for work tomorrow x
