Right dd2 asleep!!!
dd1 outside in the garden with her pals
ds eating chocolates and watching cbeebies.

I'm going to just finish off a bit more before dh appears, and swop washing over as the machine has stopped.

Need to get coal in out the shed too....Good job I'm wearing CREAM today (dh usually does this before he goes to work as he is in overalls...but today he hasn't)

Lazylou · 28/12/2006 15:16

Well, I decided to join the group to see if I could restore some order to my house! I am a little concerned though, as I work full time and doubt that I would be able to do too much each day. Added to the work thing, I have a 2.11 DD and a DH to look after.

How do you all manage???

Did you find the baby steps the best way to start or did you just go straight into it all? I was considering doing a couple of baby steps a day until I return to work next week. What do you think?

So far today I have washed up and done one load of washing

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 28/12/2006 15:25

Beetroot I think most of us at the start did sign up for emails but it got a bit too much so cancelled them! They are al on the FLY website anyway. And we get all the help we need from each other(hopefully!).

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 28/12/2006 15:26

Welcome Lazylou.
We were supossed to start on baby steps but kind of jumped straight in with the daily missions!

Lazylou · 28/12/2006 15:29

Thanks! I have just been browsing through my inbox and was baffled by all the emails! It's all too confusing but I don't know where to start. Think I might do baby steps (I'm really that awful) and see how I get on with 2 or 3 of them a day...

ludaloo · 28/12/2006 15:32

hi lazylou baby steps are good.I also have to do a blitz every now and then to keep on top.

beetroot I signed up to the FLY website but I rarely check the e-mails to be honest

9BeetrootsDancing · 28/12/2006 15:37

a few years ago i signed up nad it sent me insane.

but i do like the idea of it.

need to just remeind myslef really

9BeetrootsDancing · 28/12/2006 15:40

DO YOU DO THIS EVERY DAY?

Morning Routine

  • Get up and get dressed to lace up shoes; fixing your hair and face
  • Looking at your posted reminders in the kitchen and bathroom
  • Reading 2 minutes of reminders
  • Recognizing the negative voices and changing them; YOU ARE FLYing NOW!
  • Put out your Hot Spots for 2 minutes

Before Bed Routine

  • Keep your sink shining
  • Lay out your clothes for tomorrow
  • Put out your Hot Spot (I have to do this twice a day) It makes me smile in the morning!
9BeetrootsDancing · 28/12/2006 15:41

and do you declutter every day?

squatchette · 28/12/2006 15:42

Hi ALL ,
just seen the mission hahahahah 27! More like 27,000 fling boogie.Well i'm off my backside now Peppa pig's on so thankfully tiddlepeeps quiet and letting me get on with it .
Just seen two robbins outside think i'll go chuck them some crumbs all we need now is the snow.Did it actualy snow anywhere gals? Not here ,didn't even freeze.Well better get back to it see you all later x.

ludaloo · 28/12/2006 15:43

I declutter everyday

I shine my sink most days
I also do hot spots and the mission everyday

don't always put my shoes on though

ludaloo · 28/12/2006 15:44

no snow here Squat but we had a good 3/4 days of bad frost....which looked like snow.

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 28/12/2006 15:44

I think about all i manage on that list is Getting dressed and doing hair and face!
We don't wear shoes in the house and i did try it and it made no difference! I should shine the sink at night but MN drags me in and then its too late for cleaning!

9BeetrootsDancing · 28/12/2006 15:45

i like the hot spot idea - two mins twice a day would soon sort out my pile of bills etc

ludaloo · 28/12/2006 15:52

Infact this is what I do Everyday:

Get up and dressed
Get kids up and dressed
Make breakfast
Get packed lunches done (on a school day)
Get Dh up
Get kids to school
Do dishwasher
Do washing
Tidy Kitchen
MN a fair bit
Do mission
De Clutter
Hoover
Fold and put washing away
Make lunch
Get ds from nursery
Get dd1 from school
Make Dinner

That is what I do EVERY day
I do other stuff on top of that too...such as clean the bathroom, dust, etc etc

I do have a dh who works long hours so he doesn't actually do anything...so I've got to! Otherwise I'd go mad!

ludaloo · 28/12/2006 15:57

gosh....I also do:

monday....matresses
tuesday...towels
wednesday..worktops
thursday...tiles and taps
friday...fridge (and wipe down of appliances)

I do actually get out too...sometimes...gawd it seems such a lot when you write it down!!!!!!

ludaloo · 28/12/2006 16:02

I think there are daily jobs...such as hoovering, washing, dishwasher etc etc.

there are twice weekly jobs...dusting, hoovering under sofa cushions etc etc.

then there are weekly jobs...towel wash, bed changing etc etc.

I can't think of once a month jobs......um...maybe hoovering under big things?????
I tend to do these things whenever the Mission tells me to!!!!!!!!!!

Lazylou · 28/12/2006 16:07

I'm never going to be able to keep up with all of this! I'm panicking already although since I last posted, I have done another load of washing and hung the first up to dry. Plus I have switched the water on with the intention of doing the washing up in order to shine my sink (as per baby step number 1!).

When do you get time to do all the other things though such as dusting, ironing (which is a real stress for me) and so on...

The site confuses me too because I want to do all of it, rather than little bits and pieces. Where should I go first on there for help?

God, I'm such a hopeless case! Please don't throw me out yet until I've sussed it!

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 28/12/2006 16:08

Seeing your list Ludaloo makes me realise just how lazy i am. I don't have any jobs set for each day or week.i just do them when i see they need doing.I need a list to do daily/weekly! Maybe then i can get a routine going and actually have a tidy house!

ludaloo · 28/12/2006 16:08

And then of course... there is after school club, swimming club, cups of tea at friends, shopping......

Oh.....I light a fire every day too...

And don't forget mums are also: Doctors, agony aunts, children's entertainers and the such like

(no wonder I'm ready for bed by 8pm!)

ok......rant over

satinshoes · 28/12/2006 16:09

welcome again to new people.

lazylou. shine your sink, get on top of the kitchen and do the daily mission which is always linked to on this thread. use that as your starting point and the rest will come together....

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 28/12/2006 16:09

Lazylou Ive been on FLY threads since they started months ago and i'm still not knowing what to do!

Lazylou · 28/12/2006 16:11

Right, so at the moment we are in zone 5? Living room? And I should be decluttering in here only???

Oh and the daily mission which is to throw away 27 bits of paper that are lying around?

Lazylou · 28/12/2006 16:12

As well as shining my sink???

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 28/12/2006 16:15

Sounds right lazylou!
