Hello....I hope no one minds me starting the weekend thread...I always presume I'm safe, as there are no links to make. (I'm always up too piggin early too and am an impatient little critter!!)

Well I'm feeling a bit "blue" today...no idea why! Just feel a bit glum. Had an arguement with dh just before bed...thats probably the cause.

Ivor.....what is welsh for biscuit? I can just imagine your boss trying to think of something quick!

Satin....how are you this morning? Put your feet up. ( I heard Pineapple was supposed to bring on labour you know.....presumably you are meant to eat it!?? .....I didn't like to ask!!!!)

Right, well I am off to sort the house out...I have to sort the garden out aswell, the wind has been so strong our garden looks like a tip! Toys all pushed over, the swing has fallen backwards, and we have half the neighbour hoods recycling bags strewn around the place!

BFN xx

Morning Ludaloo,

How was the nativity play? Hope your dd had fun.

No flying for me today cos I have to go to work. Hope to be home by 5.30 so I'll probably have to do a quick bit of FLYing then before relaxing for the evening. Dh usually puts wm and dw on but probably not much else...

Kids are arguing, I'd better go and sort them out!

See you later x

satinshoes · 09/12/2006 07:59

Morning everyone.

On a Flying note, we got a Wii yesterday which means the PS2 and all accessories went from the living room to upstairs. The Wii is much smaller so my TV area now looks much tidier AND i didnt have to do anything !

Nothing planned for the weekend except hopefully having a baby.

The contrax seem to have come back about 8-10 mins apart so somethings obviously happening but not going to get excited yet...

Everything got to 5 mins apart and then stopped At least I had a good nights sleep.

Lol @ luda and the pineapple.

And well done Ivor for working so hard yesterday morning.

And HN - looks like your Sol has done some real good by being with you that weekend XP didnt come. Hope it helps..

ludaloo · 09/12/2006 08:00

Morning Shouldbe,

I only got to see the first 20 mins or so....dd2 decided to have a paddy...she wanted to toddle down the isles in the church, and was generally a squealing horror bag! So dh stayed and watched the rest with ds, while I came home with dd2. It didn't actually start till about 6.45pm....way too late foe dd2 to be sociable TBH!!!!
(dd1 was very good though, and enjoyed herself, so thats the main thing!)

Have a good day see you later

What is a Wii satin (have heard lots of people go on about them)is it the new PS? Dh wants a silver looking one..is that it?

I had a very niggly third labour satin...went on for a week or so...would sit up and count contractions and then they'd go again. If its any consolation though, she was born in 15 minutes! 2 pushes and she arrived!

OP posts:
satinshoes · 09/12/2006 08:10

Luda - a Wii is like a new PS2 or XBOX but its made by nintendo. Its a bit more fun as you have to actually jump around to move things on the screen. But DH looks very silly

Thanks for telling me about quick labour bit. My 1st went on for days and was horrendous so if all these niggles make the end bit quick i wont mind...

Hello all esp to the newbies and particularly to flame

luda Ds tells me that it's bisced. I did know that but wasn't 100% sure of the spelling. It doesn't sound much like the 4 letter word my friend used!

shouldbe I hope you have a good day in work.

satin I hope the baby arrives this w/e for you. Fwiw, I like the dates 9th and 10th (esp the 10th , and I like the days Sat and Sun.

Ruby Good on you for e-baying. That certainly counts as decluttering.

I didn't do a little bit about myself when others were so here it is:-
I'm Ivor, married to Mr Ivor, ds is 13yrs, dd is 11yrs. We have one cat and one dog. I'm mid 30s (just!), work in an office part-time and live in mid Wales. luda lives reasonably close me but we haven't met up yet.

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 09/12/2006 18:33

Hello.
Good day had here!
Lots of playing games and got the DC out in the fresh air for a while in the garden.
DS2 is still in pain from his ear but i think the spray is working as he has some yellowy liquid dribbling out and he says hurts less.(not burst as not gunky)
Cooking some soup for my tea. Not much else food wise in the house still!

On a positive i had a chat to XP1 about xmas day. I think we maybe able to come to a compromise between us otherwise its court Tuesday and i don't know if i can find child care by then and my contact with DS's would probably have to change.Neither me or XP1 think its worth wasting a day on if we can come to an agreement so fongers crossed!

Hope all ok satin and baby arrives soon.

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 09/12/2006 20:49

Hi all. Not a bad day here in HN house. I still have a really bad headache so wont be here long, Just checking emails and saying Hi.

My DC have been outside too tortoise. It got really cold though by 3pm. What has xp1 said about xmas day? you should have it sorted if you have spoke to him about it. Fingers crossed for you. My solicitor has become a friend to me really now. much easier to talk to her than the SS really.

I hope you have baby soon too satinshoes

I will read up more when my head feels better and I can take things in better. Fingers crossed it is tomorrow.

Have a good evening everyone, its bed for me soon.

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 09/12/2006 20:59

Hi HN. Glad you had a good day.Sorry you still have a bad head. XP1 doesn't want to spend a day in court either and he never said once that he wants to spend the day with them just that he has to take his parents to hs brother and sister-in-laws on christmas day for 12 and it would mean coming back out to pick DS's up to then drive all the way back to his brothers.(I think they live Stourhead way)
I have Guardian coming here Mon so if i can get him to acree a time then i can contact my sol before Guardian comes then speak to her too and hopefully sort it without court.

I can't see how i can find childcare Monday for tuesday! And DD1 has pre-school so would need dropping off and picking up.

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 09/12/2006 21:45

sorry tort, I got kicked out there. took ages to get back online

So they wont be at his house at all then.Seem the day has to be around what his mum and dad does. I could see the courts saying that the children have to come first and not his mum and dad. Why should you miss out just b/c his mum and dad want to go out? Why cant his bro get the parents and then he goes there later, if he has to go.
I hope the Guardian can see this too. Why should the boys spend Xmas day with others who are not their first family. I bet he does not want it to go to court. I cant see the judge saying his mother and brother come before his children! Their life has to come first and thats not going to his brothers house, just b/c his mother want to be there on Xmas day. If I was him I would not want it to go to court either as I would know the judge would not go in my favor.

My solicitor told me that there would not be a chance that my xp1 would get to see the DSS before Xmas more so now with what the SS now know.

He just like my xp1, blames everyone else for his lack of thinking, and then tries to make out he on my wavelength of thinking when he talks me, to then go and say something different to everyone else. Why do they do that just to get what they want? Why cant they tell you what they really want and have done with it? The truth always comes out in the end.

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 09/12/2006 21:46

oops, that truned into a litle rant then

Sorry tortoise

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 09/12/2006 21:52

Just another thought tort. Has he got a big enough car to fit them all in?

And could your solicitor be in court for you and you would not have to go. He/she will be the person talking to the judge for you so its not worth you being there. the judge will want to know the facts and wishes, not who can put on the saddest face. lol

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 09/12/2006 21:57

LOL @ Rant HN!!
Sol said i have to be there unfortunatly.
It would be a very tight squeeze to fit DS's and booster seats plus nanny or grandad in the back! (Actually DS1 can probably just about get away with no booster seat in new law.)
Its there normally family place for xmas dinner! Well him and his Mum and Dad i think. My Sol seemed to think i have less chance in court. He didn't say to speak to xp1 but i thought i would chance it!! I really don't want to go all the way to Taunton for court Tues!

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 09/12/2006 22:06

Sorry you would have to be there.

You could use the fitting all in the car safely if it does come to that. I think they have to be 11 now before the booster seat can go for them, and if they are still under a hight at 11 they still have to have a booster then. Its all to do with the seat belt fitting them properly I think.

oh bum,I did not win the lotto again

ludaloo · 10/12/2006 13:27

Hiya luda. I Xmas Envy you with having a real fire.

Does look quiet in here today.

shouldbedeckingthehalls · 10/12/2006 15:31

Hello!

I've just killed the newbies thread so don't worry....

I've found this FLY thread v handy- I'm not a natural at this domestic lark so it's just nice to feel others are doing the same as you....

I'm having a HUGE tidy up today in preparation for the school holidays when nothing much will get done and the mess will build up around me! I'm washing clothes like mad to try to get on top of it all and am supposed to be giving upstairs an extra good hoover but have been disracted by the computer! In general the house is looking better but I know I have hardly any time this coming week to keep up with everything so I need to get on top of it if I can.

Better get on with hoovering a little more.... x

ludaloo · 10/12/2006 16:01

HN.....Is that santa claus the movie??

I have bought dc the Polar Express....they can't open it until xmas eve....then they can watch it and get xmassy! (and hopefully occupy them for a bit!!)

Shouldbe....I find this thread handy too..and I have grown very fond of the FLY babes {{big warm huggy feeling}}

I am making spag bol instead tonight...have hoovered, and am half way through desmudging the patio doors and tv!
