mission

OP posts:
ludaloo · 30/11/2006 06:55

Morning

Good mission today I am going to attempt to pull the computer table out today, and the tv unit!

I don't actually feel too bad, I have taken paracetamol and some vitamin tabs, and had my glass of coke to wake me up!
The huge coldsore is a bit grim though! I tried to stop it before it started but it is still there. Luckily it is on the inside edge of my lip at the side (normally I get one smack bang in the middle at the top!)so it is not too noticable.
It just feels so huge!!

Sorry!!!!!!!

Anyway, see you all a bit later on xx

shouldbedoinghousework · 30/11/2006 07:18

Good morning!

Hope you stay feeling better ludaloo.

I'm so far feeling miles better today than yesterday but then the kids are still asleep so I've had time to be downstairs packing lunches and shining my sink on my own this morning. Always a good thing. Dh is away so I need to feel on top of things in order to try to get everyone out of the house calmly to school.

I'm meeting a friend this morning so probably won't get much done today- I did a big hoover in the living room on Tuesday when I hoovered the sofa so don't feel it needs it again just yet. Never did do the dusting yesterday though so will make that my job for later.

Have a good day everyone x

ludaloo · 30/11/2006 07:23

Thanks SBDHW,

I have to go search my house now. My dd1 has been in the airing cupboard and found a packet of ALWAYS! She has made a nice outfit for her Barbie and I found one stuck to her window last night, and just found another stuck to the underside of the sink in the downstairs loo!

Little Monkey!!!!!!

shouldbedoinghousework · 30/11/2006 07:46

I read your post about that last night Ludaloo and it really made me laugh! How old is your ddd? It sounds like just the kind of thing my dd (age 5) would do! Hope there aren't too many others stuck around the house!

satinshoes · 30/11/2006 08:02

Morning all,

Nice easy mission as I have completely hoovered the living room 3 x this week already because of flea paranoia

shouldbedoinghousework glad you feel a bit better now. Remember to take one day at a time.

ludaloo image of barbie covered in always made me lol.

off out swimming with dd this morning and then plan to rest.

have a good day all.

ludaloo · 30/11/2006 09:13

SBDHW, my dd1 is 5! She is very creative I thought!

Satinshoes, hope you have a nice morning.

I can't believe tomorrow is december! I am really looking forward to christmas this year, dd2 is 16 months now and I think she will love it!
I am going to do a last thorough vacum and dust so we can get the tree and all the decorations up at the weekend! [excited emoticon]

shouldbedoinghousework · 30/11/2006 09:32

Ludaloo- yes, I agree, a very creative daughter you have there. Mine is v similar and regulary dresses Barbies in tissues etc but thankfully nothing else (yet!)

I'm looking forward to Christmas this year too. We'll have a quiet one having had just about everyone in the family here last year. It'll be lovely to have a couple of days when it's just dh, dd, ds and myself- we don't get much time together these days. Dd and ds are beside themselves with excitement- dd went to bed last night crying that she wished it was Christmas tomorrow!

IvortheEngine · 30/11/2006 10:42

Hello! Just a quick message as I'm going to get cracking to go out. So far today I've emptied the dw, put a load of washing on, walked the dog, started to write a shopping list, done other bits and bobs. See you all later!

domesticslobess · 30/11/2006 10:44

Hi all.
sbdthw-I'm so glad you're feeling better today.
Think this Flying is fabbo.Previously I've found housework soul destroying but now feel I can be more organised and frees me up to do things I really enjoy.. In past I'm sure having messy house has stopped me from inviting friends over spontaneously as I majority of my friends have very tidy houses and I would think 'God she can't come over till I've had a massive clear out...'
Sink still gleaming, swished bathroom, lounge is looking good, no more piles of dreaded laundry to put away... my dh can't quite fathom out what's going on.... have I transformed into a Stepford wife....

ludaloo · 30/11/2006 11:52

Well...living room thoroughly hoovered. I managed to get behind the tv but the computer table won't budge.
Kitchen also hoovered and sides wiped.
Two loads of washing done so far
Dishwasher unloaded/reloaded
Dusting finished
Two chocolate bars eaten also

redheadmum · 30/11/2006 12:00

house is definitely looking better but the soul destroying bit is had 7 workman in yesterday that plus 2 young kids has just messed it up even more........

plus I'm confused as to what I'm meant to do......HELP! Am I just meant to follow the baby steps and that's it (as well as doing what I'd normally do of course) or am I meant to start doing the misssions etc? have been kinda making up my own bits to do eg night routine, trying to do a bit more in mornings....but would like to get the focus of fellow FLY ers....

ludaloo · 30/11/2006 12:06

hi redheadmum.....
I would just do what you feel you have the time and energy for...
The missions would probably be a good thing to do along side the babysteps you do.

I usually do the mission, a general tidy/pickup
Then I kind of have a rota of different things to do each day (today is Taps and Tiles)
Some days when I don't have to go anywhere and I have the energy I blitz one room...or two, (usually kitchen)
Today I have to do a serious toy cull in the kids rooms so will fit that in somewhere!

redheadmum · 30/11/2006 13:05

ta!!

satinshoes · 30/11/2006 16:30

hi everyone,

done naff all this afternoon. watched a dvd with DD and then had a nap .

cant be bothered with housework - so much for nesting!

glad the newbies are finding this motivating...

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 30/11/2006 18:13

Hello.
I think i have spent more time out of the house than in it today!
Pre-school,town,drop shopping home,pre-school,home,hairdressers then finally home!
All had tea so bit of MN time before they goto bed.

DimpledThighs · 30/11/2006 18:33

hi

everyone seems to have been getting down to it today but not me - workmen in the house and as I hate all the 'hello, cup of tea' shenanigans I am out the house - will be until they are done on saturday. My only time indoors is putting children to bed and drinking wine. Will be back to it on sunday!!!

lots of love

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 30/11/2006 18:58

Evening all.

I done todays mission without know what it was. When I did the TV I could not believe all the dust that has got on the back of it. I only cleaned it all off about 2 weeks ago. I have hoovered the whole of the house and done loads of damp dusting.

HNtree came over today. It was a good job she did as the WM that was suppose to come this morning did not get here until just before 6pm tonight!!
The woman who delivered it had to fit it as well. I could have done it faster than she did. It was no wonder it did not get here until 6 tonight. Its now on a hot wash with nothing in it. Why could they not do this before they pack it up?

Glad all seem to be feeling better today.
Tortoise, your xp1 is just being an asshole about Christmas day! What is he trying to do/prove? No-one wants to be going to court at Christmas time. I cant see where its going to get him or how it would look for him if the judge lets you have them Christmas day. Where as for you, which ever way it goes, it will look good for you. Great if you have them, and will look good for trying to have them on that day if you don't. iykwim. It would look better for him to say he done the right thing and let them be with you as he had them last year. My xp1 would go around saying the only reason he has not got his boys for Christmas is that the judge said he was not aloud too have them. But really thats what he would want, hes never bothered with the boys at Christmas. Wonder if thats what your xp1 is doing, letting someone else take the blame for either him having or not having your DSs Christmas day. I know my xp1 always wants to blame others for what happens. It is not what he does, it is what happens! Yet he makes things happen or lets other say what is going to happen. Then he blames them/others for for what is happening. He never says how he wants things to happen, Then that way no-one can say that his fault that those things happen/took place then.
I hope that makes sense.? It does to me, but then I know what I am trying to say . lol

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 30/11/2006 19:52

Hi HN. Glad your WM is in and ready to start that back log of washing!
Hope HNtree is ok. Hows her house selling/hunting going?

DS2 was sick in the night.Kept XP1 up! he said he's going back to school tomorrow. Even though he hasn't been sick since this morning he has only eaten a sandwich and a yog(up to 6.30 anyway). I don't think he should be back to school. Just hope it not a bug and DS1 doesn't get it tomorrow night when he is here!

squatchette · 30/11/2006 21:26

Hello Flybabes
Welcome to all the newby people seems to be a lot of new names, glad to see how popular we're getting.
Well my house is back on track at last feeling much better but can't seem to get rid of bad chest.Did a big clean yesterday.Took curtains down in livingroom to wash, god they were mucky.Just need to iron them before they go back up.Painting almost finished so hoping to have new living room carpet down next week.
I picked new car up last night with my sis.Driving was a bit dodgy at first but getting hang of it again now. Most unhappy with the tots.Took them for a drive today.I nipped in a shop and left them with DP in car, came back to find coins shoved in the cd player, tried fishing them out and they went in even further!Don't know what to do short of taking it to a garage. Can't believe it less than 24 hours and they've wrecked something.Suggestions welcome?
Off for a bath now then an early night again.See you all tomorrow then NNxx

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 30/11/2006 21:31

Hi squatt
You sound like you have been busy. Curtains will loose the creases as they hang!

Good news that you got your car. Does the front not come off the CD player? Other than that i have no idea!

Enjoy your bath. And NN to you.

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 30/11/2006 21:40

Hiya tortoise. HNtree is fine and I don't really know on the house selling front.

Poor DS2. I would not want to send him, not until he is eating more. What a thing to feel him though after being sick all night. he must be really tired too if hes been up all night being sick. Poor little lad, its only 1 more day then its the weekend. he might as well be at home tomorrow, than go to school and not being 100% to then be ill all weekend. Was it DS2 that was sick the other night and your xp1 sent you a text as if it was your fault?

Hope DS2 is ok and DS1 does not come down with a bug. Tell him to wait until Sunday night

I just got my DS1 to stay in bed. he has ben up and down the stairs alleveing. I told him the last time, that if he got up again, then he would spend longer in bed on saturday morning. Hes not came down since WM is not on its 2nd load. got at least 4 more loads DC have been very messy eaters. They are normaly better than they have been this week.
DW working.I must remember to get credit put on the key tomorrow

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 30/11/2006 21:47

Hi squatt. great news on getting your car at long last.

Shame the DP let them put coins in the CD player. The only thing I can think of is to take the player out and see if you can shake the coins out. Thats the only thing a garage would do I think too.

Enjoy your bath.

I was going to have one but I cant be bothered not. I had a shower this morning anyway. DD thought I needed a shower and done a wee on me lol

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 30/11/2006 21:49

Yes same DS HN.I don't know if it was a bug or not.Got over it quick if it was.If it was me he would of been on weak squash until at least lunch time to make sure it stayed down and definatly no school.

DD1 is awake now saying ear hurts. Just given Nurofen to see if that helps.

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 30/11/2006 21:55

DD1 is now in my bed.She wanted to go up. Put her in bed and she said tummy hurts.I hope she will be ok! Think i will goto bed in a min and watch tv with her.

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 30/11/2006 22:01

Poor DD1 hope she is ok.

Yes that what I would have done too with DS

you have them tomorrow don't you?

If that is so, it could be that xp1 wants to go out in the day and not have DS around and/or have to bring him to you at some point. His going out is more important than DS not being well.??

I am going to bed soon. least its the last morning of having to get up early tomorrow

The weekend will go to fast though.
