Morning, Yet again, I've started two threads by mistake.
Please ignore the other one and hopefully it will disappear.

I don't have ornaments and things but I will dust the tv and clean the computer monitor.

Morning all,

Hurrah - did thorough dusting yesterday. Nice to be ahead of the game.

Major bout of insomnia last night. At midnight i was cleaning out the breadbin . I figured this was slightly irrational so started getting snacks and things together for hospital bag instead.

Finally got to sleep and dd woke at 6.40 grrr.

Parcel to post today so may go xmas tree hunting with DD in town and then lots of rest.

pippah · 29/11/2006 08:22

Thanks fort the advice on paoting images Jelley.

Here is my new little man:

Charlie, 1 day old

pippah · 29/11/2006 08:22

Sorry about spelling, it's been a rough night!

Jelley · 29/11/2006 08:26

I'm impressed you're here at all, and posting pics!
He's lovely. Almost makes me broody again.

satinshoes · 29/11/2006 08:47

Pippah - he looks sooo cute! Now go and have a rest

shouldbedoinghousework · 29/11/2006 09:16

He's so sweet Pippah- congratulations!

I am already dressed and really can't be doing with all that "dressed to lace-up shoes" business so am going to re-shine my sink- it looked so lovely when I came downstairs to pack dd's lunch this morning
I don't have any child-free time today but am sure ds and I can manage a joint effort with a duster in the living room.
Have a good day everyone

shouldbedoinghousework · 29/11/2006 09:26

OK, so have just admitted on the "depressed" thread that actually am having a bl**dy awful day! Kids wound me up something awful this morning and I'm now booked to see doctor this morning. Feels horrid to be admitting this to such nice new friends like yourselves but I'm hoping that support is partly what we're all here for.....

satinshoes · 29/11/2006 09:30

shouldbedoinghousework dont worry. See what the Dr says and try not to get bogged down with meaningless stuff.

The principle of flylady is that you take babysteps and gradually see an improvement - it wont happen over night. Same applies to real life I reckon.

We're all pretty good listeners here

shouldbedoinghousework · 29/11/2006 09:35

I know, I know...

I'm just sick of feeling such a failure at the moment

Getting a small grip on the housework yesterday really did help and in many ways it's really not so bad, although a routine and someone just telling me what to do will really help. My main problem lies with all the stuff stashed away in cupboards and the loft etc. And my sheer terror of MIL visit at Xmas !

Jelley · 29/11/2006 09:39

sbdh.By admitting how you feel, and asking for help, you are not a failure.
Flying will help with the stuff stashed away (one box/cupboard/shelf at a time).

Can't do anything about the MIL though

Going to go and shine my sink...(last nights washing up is still in it)

Hello

What a lovely little baby you have Pippah.

SBDH - don't worry, hope your docotr can help you.

I did my sofa and am about to do the stuff in the living room - don't have ornaments as sucj but will dust anyhow.

I am having a new kitchen put in tomorrow so I will pass on shining a sink which is about to be got rid of!

I had a quick read of the setting a timer for 10mins and doing all different jobs - is this really enoguh to keep on top of things? Do you do it in a whole hour or 10mins here and there?

Thanks for your help so far - am feeling quite positive.

Jelley · 29/11/2006 09:48

Most jobs we do to a timer. I guess you are thinking of the house blessing (BLEURGH). 10 mins on each job.
Most of us break these down over the week rather than do them all in one day. Some take only one min (mirrors, bins) some longer (change beds)

When you do a clear out ot declutter, you set a time for however long (usually 15 mins) and don't stop til it rings. I'm constantly amazed how much I get done that way, as usually I start tidying, then go upstairs to put something away, then notice something else to do, and never finish the original job!

shouldbedoinghousework · 29/11/2006 13:24

Hello. Just to let you know as you've all been v kind- doctors went well, I cried soildly for almost an hour but came away feeling much better for it!

Left ds with a neighbour (at our house) so have come home to an almighty tip but it'll have to wait- a cup of tea and some chocolate come first!

Planning to do nothing much for the rest of the day then start afresh in the morning.

Hope your dc is soon better Tortoise, and that you get a better rest tonight.

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 29/11/2006 13:30

Glad the DR's went well.
Have a nice rest for today.
