pippah, charlie is so gorgeous! congratulations!!!

DS is finally diagnosed with reflux and on gaviscon infant and hasn't been sick once today (well so far anyway!). i hope it'll shrink the amount of washing i have. i've had 6 months of constant sick and really really fed up of the smell of it in the house! /end rant

ludaloo · 29/11/2006 14:32

I am getting the flu ...have a sore throat..swollen Jaw glands..sore eye sockets and a miserable cold sore comming

I have done no housework today...except washing.

I think I might go have a quick pick up.... have piles of washing to put away.....AAAARRGGGGHHHH MY MOST HATED JOB EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

Have lit a nice fire though

pippah · 29/11/2006 15:08

Thanks for all the loverly messages. Believe me, I am NOT FLYING and AM RESTING! I may have shinyed the sink, but that was just to make me smile! My mum is here and she and my DH are looking after DS1 and me v well...

Shouldbe - BIG HUGS for you! Hope the docs went well and was helpful. I had PND with DS1 and am terrified about it happening again. Am hoping that the FLYing thing has taught me to be less hard on myself and less perfectionist. It's ok to just do a little bit at a time (of anything, including looking after bubbas) and then give yourself loads of credit for what you have done! And then post on here so everyone else will big you up too!! Just seeing what you have done written down can make you feel proud of yourself - that's so important when you feel down, I think. Good luck with everything!

DimpledThighs · 29/11/2006 17:55

oh ludaloo - poor you flu is horrible.

sbdh - glad docs went well, going to the doc is the first adn often the hardest step with these things so well done.

Does dusting count if you do it with a baby wipe!

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 29/11/2006 18:36

Oh dear ludaloo. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Ok afternoon here.Took DD's to the park to meet up with snig and her DS. Left the buggy at home and took the short cut across a field.Had to stop to talk to the horses!

DD's had early bath and tea now all ready for bed.

satinshoes · 29/11/2006 18:58

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 29/11/2006 19:00

ludaloo · 29/11/2006 20:04

Aw thank you for your sympathy...xxxx you are such a nice bunch xx

satin...I had BH with my third...horrid...hopefully a good sign though

I am off to get a hot choccie and wait for dh...he is having car stress too now!

My head feels like it needs to be jetwashed, and my neck is now stiff, so I'm going to whine at dh for a bit!

see you all tomorrow xxx

IvortheEngine · 29/11/2006 20:19

shouldbe I second what Ruby said. We're a good bunch here and can be of real help to you, I'm sure. Sometimes I get in touch with people via CAT or e-mail and have one to one chats off board to help them through whatever problem it is in whatever way I can be of help. If you feel you'd like me to get in touch, maybe e-mail or chat on the phone, then let me know. I'm not on here that much as I work 3 days a week so don't give up if I seem not to have spotted a post from you. Shout up again.

Ruby Just a quick mention that we have car cover with Bonchester (so dh says) and before we were with GEM. I think it works like this:- when you break down, you ring the central number and give the details. They get a local garage out to you to get you going or else take you to a local garage or home if you prefer. You pay them directly and then claim it back from the breakdown people. It's not as swish as AA or RAC but it is cheaper. If I was giving a no-hassle present, though, I'd be tempted to go with the big names, I have to say.

luda I hope your would-be-flu fizzles out. I'm in town tomorrow having my hair done. I begrudge spending money on putting colour in it just to have it grow out a few months later. Skinflint? Moi? Did you see that Mecca is closing? That one opposite Charlie's is pretty good. They should get a fair bit of trade with Mecca closing. Do you know the Blue Creek Cafe? A work colleague went there and had a really nice lunch for about £3. I'll have to look in. There's a new place at the top of town, too called Jacobites I think. Have you been there? Oh, and a new place instead of Hungry Harry's. I picked up a leaflet as I passed today. Perhaps our neck of the woods is picking up! Yes, the mini tornado was pretty close to me. It was hard to believe that such a mess was caused. Apparently, people from Talybont have been visiting the garage to hand in papers they found in their gardens or nearby fields.

Hello to everyone else. I'll catch up with this thread properly on Fri I'm sure.

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 29/11/2006 20:23

Hi all. Great day here not!! tell in a mo.

First.

Pippah He is sooooooo cute. Glad you are being looked after. Hope DS1 is loving his new brother.
Wishing the very best for your DS2.

satinshoes Sorry you had a bad night. I had one too, worrying about the electric all night

shouldbedoinghousework Glad it all went well with the GP. Best thing you could have done is letting it all out. We all go through life and need help with feeling the depression at some point. We are all here to help each other. You may have "yourself" helped someone today with what you have done by letting us know. They could read this post and then take the action of going to their GP to get help too

tortoise Hope your DD1 is ok tonight. I wish I could do something to help you. (I have done something that might help you and your DC though)
If I lived nearier to you I would have got you some cough medicine myself. The GP do give out some sort of cough medicine , its not great but it does help. I got given some once by the GP when I took DS2 to see them as his cough was going on for a long time.

I think that children`s medicines should be cheaper to what they are. With this time of year, its very easy to spend loads of money with buying medicines for children. when 1 child gets a cough of cold the rest follow and it then seems never ending buy medicine for them all.

asleep Glad you now know what is going wrong with DS. Poor him. it must be reaaly hard to see him being sick all the time. I really hope thing now get better for him and yourself.

luda Poor you. I hope your flu does not get to bad. Take loads of rest.

Now for my day.

I got my new key this morning in the post. It had yesterday date on it for the post date. So much for being in the post when I phoned them yesterday.
Well I put the new key in the meter. It then came up with error. It would not take the key.
I phone them up and they said they would send some one out. He got here at 6:10pm and we only had 12p left on the meter. It worked out that when the new metre was put in they put the wrong number to the meter or something, so the key would not work. I now have a new key that works with the meter. Why could they not give me a new key+meter in the very first place when they put in the meter?? I got another £5 of emergncey credit. Need to get some more credit tomorrow, the bloke said it will work ok now so I should not have any problems

Loads to do tomorrow now. Hoovering for starters. My new WM comes tomorrow. They phoned today to say it will be here sometime in the morning so loads of washing to get done. I`m going to be busy tomorrow.

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 29/11/2006 20:57

Hi HN.
Glad electric got sorted in the end.

DD1 is ok.She was coughing in bed so covered front and back in vicks and put vapour plug in. She smells great and so does the upstairs!!!

Will have a bit of money in the bank tomorrow from Child tax credits. So will be able to top up gas and elec and buy a little food!

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 29/11/2006 21:24

Hi tortoise. Same here! I hope I can sleep tonight without dreaming on how I was going to have NO electric for days on end.

Glad DD1 is a little better tonight. Poor DD1. I hate coughs, when Dc cough here I want to cough for them.
Least you will all be breathing nicely tonight.

Im off to bed as really tired, I must have nodded off sat here reading. DIY SOS was on, now its "Im A cleb get me out of here" is on.

See you all tomorrow. NN all xxxxxxxxxx

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 29/11/2006 21:28

Glad you got some money tomorrow as well tort.

I have £10 locked away, so if I ever really really need something (like meds for DC), then I have the money. Something HNtree told me is a good thing to do. Thought I would pass on the idea

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 29/11/2006 21:37

Thanks for the idea HN. I fear it wouldn't work for me. There would always be something that i need to buy! And i would go straight for the £10!
Hope to look in Icelands on Monday when i go in for Benefits review and maybe get some frozens for xmas.

Spoke to my sol today. Still no news on xmas day. they are booking a day in court to deal with it. i was hoping it would be dealt with without the need for court!
