Raided DD2's money box! Last £2! Bag of spuds, bread and tin of hot dog sausages.
Owe the DDs loads from 'borrowing' from them.

But we did have a nice walk.Didn't take a buggy so both DD's walked.

hi all,

sorry things are so tight tort. i tend to make soup a lot when we're skint but not sure if the kidies woud like that.

i had a 2 hour lie in this morning AND just got a two hour nap this afternoon. How lucky am I?

Just about stopped the psychologoical itching associated with the cats fleas. DH assures me they'll all be on the way to flea heaven now! But I have hoovered whole house again today....

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 26/11/2006 16:21

The DD's haven't had soup.They won't try it!
I could make some for me though. Not until i have a few pennies tuesday though.

All i have done all day is sit here.I don't feel like doing anything.Kitchen is messy again.

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 26/11/2006 18:31

Hi all.

My day has been a well I don't know really. Its been some what mixed.

DS1 has been fine all day today until I went to give them a bath. I did not have the energy to fight with him so he has not had one I don't know why he wont have a bath, he loves his bath time, I have trouble getting them out of the bath.

I have not done any FLYing today. I ran out of eclectic at 10:15 am. Guess who for got to put some on the key. I have never had a key meter before so its all new to me. I had some credit from my old meter added to this new one so I have not had to add to it until today.

I put the key in my bag on monday to get some money put on it, only I forgot to do it.
So we walked into town and got some money put on the key, went home and put the key in the meter, and it did not work!!!! it came up with a message code.

I phoned up and told them and they said that I should have put the key in the meter before I put some money on it. At first they did not want to help and come out to sort things out for me. But after a few more calls to different people they said they would. They got here at 4:45pm and were gone by 4:55pm. I now have electric, and have to wait now for another key to be sent out. I will make sure I dont mess up the next key.

Tortoise. sorry that you are having a hard time. I thought I was finding things hard but after pennyless last night and you today, I feel that my troubles are nothing!!

I better get DS2 and DD to bed. Then see if I can get DS1 to have a bath. I just dont know why he would not want a bath when he loves them.

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 26/11/2006 18:47

Ooops HN.They should of told you what to do with new key! Also it normally have £5 emergancy credit on it.I had to put mine on this morning because we ran out.Probably because the 2 outside lights were left on.
Just hope the emergancy cred lasts until tuesday!

Glad ds1 has been ok apart from bathtime.

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 26/11/2006 19:15

Hi tortoise. yes it was oops it so called said it in the letter I got, I cant remember reading anything about putting the key in the meter before I done anything else. Yes it is £5 emergency credit on it.I hope that lasts until the new key comes and I can get credit on it. I am not putting the outside Christmas lights on until I get the key sorted.

DS1 still kicks off about having a bath. He has even put his Pj's on. He went upstairs and done it when I was sorting the DW out.

I need to iron the DSs schools clothes now. Hand washed and dried. make lunch boxes etc. At least the electric went today and not in the night or tomorrow morning.

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 26/11/2006 19:20

oh tort, try giving DDs soup with mashed or boiled spuds, or pasta. They might like the taste of it then and then might eat soup after that with bread or even chip shop chips

Soup and chip shop chips is a very cheap take away meal. Even your DSs might like that too and think they are having a great take away meal

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 26/11/2006 19:38

Just thought this comment from someone on xmas decs thread was very fitting for FLY thread so copy and pasting it here!!
'Sorry having an Anthea attack - how can you clean your house properly with a Xmas tree up? Does this mean your windows etc wont be cleaned until January?'

DS's love soup so they are easy.DD's not very good with food yet.DD2 better than DD1!

Both in bed now.

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 26/11/2006 20:00

Yes !!! No cleaning lounge windows until January !!

I must cover the rest on the windows in my house so I wont have to clean then either

I have not got the hanging decs up yet,
1st...They wont get to dusty with in the time they do go up. If you have them up to early and the wind blows them all the dust goes everywhere and I am sneezing even more.

2nd the DC cant hit them down when they throw teddies around Mummy never does any playing like that!

I am lucky with my DD then tort. She loves soup. she like more different soups than the DSs do.

Your DDs will get there and then there will be no stopping them from eating. DS2 was very fussy until he was 40 months old. Then he just wanted to have anything he could.

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 26/11/2006 20:03

Lol@ throwing teddies! My ceiling ones are up!
Next comment on thread was about how do you hoover/dust with a tree in the room!

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 26/11/2006 20:17

I seen that tort.

Maybe some people don't have the hose on their hoovers. I don't have any problems with hoovering with the tree up.

I don't know why but I don't have the spiders webs like I did before putting the lights up. I have not had 1 web since putting them up, yet before I could hoover them all and by the next week they were all back again.

Does this mean I can keep my lights up all year

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 26/11/2006 20:36

I had to go round the room with a broom to clear the webs! I did the DS's room saturday.I bought loads to do a surprise room for them last year.It looked fab.Had to shut them out until xmas day when they came over.(no overnight back then)I even bought that fake snow stuff that you add water to and it makes snow. And put it out by the front door! They loved it so said they could have the decs in their room this year too.

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 26/11/2006 20:43

That sounds really great tort.

I have seen the fake snow. £5 for a little box

DSs want me to get a tree for their bedroom, but here is nowhere to put a tree in their room. I said about a small 1 but DS2 wanted a big 1 like the 1 in the lounge. he said that santa could leave more pressies if they had a tree as well.

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 26/11/2006 20:45

Ah it is a little box but it goes a looooong way! lol! No tree in their room just ceiling bits and some tinsel to go up. Did much more last year but it made it a non-functioning room but they weren't there so didn't matter!

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 26/11/2006 20:57

A bedroom Christmas grotto was it tort?

Not so bad being £5 if it goes a long way.

I am going to say NN now as feeling very tired and its a start of another week so have to be up to get DSS off to school.

I hope you are feeling better tonight tort, then you did last night. and that you feel loads better tomorrow.

Just had a thought, can you still get normal paracetamol tablets from your GP on script.
I used to be able to when I first was ill and they did not know it was down to ME, why I hurt so much and having really bad headaches I got 100 tablets at a time. Worth looking into tort.

NN all, Sleep well xxxxxxxxxx

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 26/11/2006 21:09

NN HN.
Im more bunged tonight. i should go to bed early.Have to catch 9.57 train to Yeovil in the morning and DD's have contact at 2pm It replaces one they had to miss so i need to make sure i get the right train home at 12 something!

dreamteamgirl · 26/11/2006 22:00

Evenin FLYers

Havent been about end of last week. Too much horrible stuff happening

HOWEVER have just totally tidied my kitchen, and finally got rid of the last box from the kitchen. Omly 4 months after we moved in!! YAY

Ruby if you are reading, how is DD getting on in bed? Has she been staying in bed?

Are people really putting deco's up already? My Xmas deco's dont usually go up till about a week before, except Advent stuff of course

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 26/11/2006 22:02

Evening dreamteamgirl. Sorry you have horrible stuff happenning.Don't know what it is but hope all ok soon.

Yes i have xmas decs up.

Snowstorm · 26/11/2006 22:10

Sorry to butt into your conversation but I've seen these threads going on for some time now but I can't work out the 'FLY' bit to your thread titles. Would someone please take a moment to explain that to me as it seems that I'm not going to get there on my own?!! Thank you!

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 26/11/2006 22:12

Hi snowstorm
Look at this website to see what FLYing is all about!here

Its basically a way to get some sort of routine going to help get a more organised,de-cluttered and tidy home.

dreamteamgirl · 26/11/2006 22:16

Thanks Tort. Horrible stuff is DP telling me he no longer loves me and then finding out he has been playing away from home. All very big shocks. Trying to work things out tho, and house work is great distraction

Also at work finding out I have to request a GP is immediately suspended for full investigation. Yikes! But bad doctors upset me so no choice.

Is first year in our (my?) house so have to figure out where tree will go and rearrange for that. How exciting. Need to rummage through garage and find the crib this week, am sure DS will enjoy taking all the figures out and attempting to break them
