The fledglings try something new for June

Hello, welcome back and jump on board for June.

As the thread title say we are mixing things up a bit this month, it might work. Then again it might not. It is still a long running thread and newbies will always be welcome. Usual disclaimer still applies "Don’t let it put you off if we appear a bit cliquey, we really aren’t! Some of us have been on here for years – but all lurkers, intermittent returnees, oldies and newcomers very, very welcome"

But here is where this thread is mixing it up. No more daily links. The Big link you will need is the launch pad from here you can get the daily reminders/missions/zones etc...

The first link for the babysteps is the particularly waffly introduction to and first babystep here, through it you can get to all of the other links

Not sure this will work or the lack of daily posts will be a problem. So fingers crossed for a month of nattering and flying success...

Glad the meeting was productive, DEM, and to hear about DS1's good day, Toffee. Hope you're feeling better SC and Swan.

All liquorice and aniseed of any kind is revolting IMHO, SC and DEM. DH has an incomprehensible fondness for pastis, ouzo and other vile brews. [bleugh]

No new offers, and the viewers today didn't even bother to turn up, after extra tidying and then being kicked out of my own house and away from my work for their benefit. So rude!! Angry DS2's sports day was OK - the little ones are so cute and funny to watch, but it was also utter chaos. Herding cats is the phrase that springs to mind. Grin

Evening all, sorry for going AWOL again, it's been a hectic few days.

Sports Day for the DCs on Friday and both of them did their best ever, DS had two firsts and two thirds, DD had one of each (she's never won a race before). DS was so pleased to have done so well in his final year, he puts great store on Sports Day and DD was so pleased with her first win. Saturday sa more sporting success for DD, she won all her races in a swimming gala and helped her team to an overall win.

In between all this I've been mega busy with work and spending all my spare time at the allotment, so needless to say the house is a tip again. Work should calm down after this week hopefully. Just as well as it's DD's dance school show at the weekend, the one after it's the school summer fair and the one after it's th Yr 6 leavers party, I'm helping organise both.

Swan - our shed arrived last week and I'm so pleased with it, so are the cats (photo to follow).

Blue - glad you got the offer, hope you don't get any more rude no-show viewers.

Toffee - well done to DS1. I think my DS is starting to look forward to his new school now. All his class are going off fo taster days at their new schools on Fri, just him and one other pupil who is going private will be left behind, their teqcher has promised them a fun day.

Morning everyone, another early start for me - seeing your bedside clock saying 03:55 is never a good start to the day. At least I got some shut eye on the sofa Whilst DS amused himself.

Swan Dragon has flown off to the local witch coven to have you a special brew made up to reenergise you, here: Brew

*Toffee8 your DS seems to be doing so so well. You must be bursting with pride.

DEM glad the meeting went well

Blue how irritating of no-show viewers. But fingers crossed you get the offer you want. And yes, all liquorice is foul

WhoKnows yay for sports day achievements and I agree with DEM re the shed - am green with envy!

SC you have my sympathies re cantankerous sewing machine. I tried to repair DHs trousers yesterday and managed to sew a new crotch when I stitched the two inside legs together by mistake. [sigh]

Ta da
DS up, milk, nappy change
Kip on sofa
Breakfast for DS, me and cats
First Washload on
Partial dishwasher load

To do
Empty, wash and refill cat litter trays
Hang out washing
Put more washing on
Fold and put away dry laundry
Make beds
Go into town:
-buy a summer hat for myself
-get the strongest factor sun cream I can find
-take the heap of DSs old toys to charity shop
Complete a claim form for a lost eBay parcel

Tomorrow we have a family day out to a preschoolers summer festival - think loads of circus type marquees with story tellers, activities, messy play, local kids clubs and businesses, puppet shows. The forecast says it will be 30 degrees, hence to need foe me to acquire a summer hat and sunblock!!

DarkEvilMoon · 30/06/2015 15:30

some sorting in my room, some craft finishing off, some laundry, some paperwork and a lot of melting in the heat. Having foolishly promised ds a trip out to the hills for a picnic tea I am now going to have to make good on this and am hoping there is a bit of a breeze.

The offer on our house was raised, and we've accepted it!! Still a long way to go, but looks like the move is on...

Ta Da!
Sold house
Enquired about school transfers
Work wrangling
Invoicing
Laundry

Hmm, it gets less glamorous as it goes down.

We need a cold drink emoticon for this weather, but can add ice to the Brew for the moment and crack open the Wine later.

What are we doing about a July thread? Is anyone missing the links? I must admit I've found that I'm forgetting this is theoretically a housekeeping thread this month. I don't really have time to lead a linky thread, but can set one up along these lines if nobody else wants to lead or wants the links.

DarkEvilMoon · 30/06/2015 15:38

Can go back to the links, i think we do needs to consider the issue of links and how it works. Although I am guilty of not looking at links. So I am happy to not have them, but it might make it seem more cliquey to none regulars with is a bit of a concern as we have always tried to be inclusive. A compromise might be chatty threads until sept and then back to links in sept as July and August are generally quite quiet anyway. Any one else got any suggestions?

Congratulations on the increased offer blue!

BlueEyeshadow · 30/06/2015 21:50

Don't seem to be any takers, or other suggestions, so will start a chatty July thread in a mo.

Thanks, DEM Grin

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 30/06/2015 21:52

How about a full set of links on a Monday and just a link to the flight deck or whatever it's called for the rest of the week? I could do July on that basis.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 30/06/2015 21:53

x-posted!

BlueEyeshadow · 30/06/2015 22:00

I've set the thread up here but if you want to add extra linkage, WhoKnows, then feel free. :) Thanks

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 30/06/2015 22:58

Thunder is rumbling ominously outside here, it has turned very muggy tonight. Bought a cheap paddling pool for the DCs this afternoon which has been very popular this evening, it's nice when you think they've outgrown things and then they get all enthusiastic again.

Very busy day at work, not much housework done. Hoping to have a bit of a blitz tomorrow after school although it's supposed to be even hotter. Hmm.

DarkEvilMoon · 30/06/2015 23:59

Urgh, I am going to be so ill. Today was bad enough as it was.
