HazelnutHazelnutsTree · 07/11/2006 20:18

Hi all. Its taken me ages to get here. I could not scroll the pages up or down All fixed now though

I had a good day today. I have not done much apart from playing with DD and then DSs once they got back from school. So I have been a good girl and done as I was told

Tree has been great again, I don't know how I am going to thank her for what she has done for me and the DC. She said to say Hello to you all as well She is having a well earned hot bath now.

I just going to read back. (see what goss there is? hehehe)

Be back soonish. I going for a hot bath too.

MamaApronstrings · 07/11/2006 20:44

Also taken me ages to get here today - and no time to read back for now - will try and take a look with a glass of wine in a few hours time. gald your feeling better hn

tortoise · 07/11/2006 20:54

Hn Glad your doing ok and taking it easy.
I have a huge mess to tidy now the DS's are in bed.Its non stop maddness with those two!
Well i guess i better start in the kitchen.

HazelnutHazelnutsTree · 07/11/2006 21:18

(((((HUGS))))) for those who are feel ill or in need of some hugs. I have read back but finding it hard to take it all in today. brain dead I think

Your DSs tortoise sound like they can be a hand full. Grrrrrrrrr with the window though. break the the outside one and then break in, nick something and then call them out to replace it

ludaloo, I had a so so night. It took me ages to get to sleep ( I was still awake @3am ) My legs and arms were aching so much

SUSIntoSpaceandback · 07/11/2006 21:42

evening!
all the best to you all poorly ones!! recover soon

well since i am on a (sort of) diet too () maybe we could add a point on our daily list like 'exercise' and another one for healthy food or therelike ...

for example i've made a big pot of veg soup in my slow cooker; it was maybe a tat too much cabbage but then i blizzed it and with one of my fresh bread rolls (done with my BM) it was actually rather nice!
almost no sweets for evening tv

BUT after dp's left for work i had an energy burst (?!?!) and

  • sweeped all downstairs
  • d/w
  • washes big things by hand and put away
  • cleaned all surfaces
  • put all toys away
  • bin and recycling is outside (and dp took bin to collecting point without being asked )

Hi Hazel glad to see you're home yes your mum is an absolute star.I lost my Mum 6 yrs ago next week and miss her still everyday.

Lu -that sounds horrible hope you're feeling better soon you're really brave i found it bad enough having an internal in labour!

Tortoise hope the window doesn't get any worse i would hate to have to pay out that sort of money for something that isn't your fault, just leave it if outside piece o.k(unless it gets to be a danger).

I'm pleased to report that after my slow start i did actualy get lots done.Done kitchen, living room AND playroom which i HATE doing.Went food shopping picked prescription up and did some washing.Just had a nice tea and cleared up kitchen again.Been using my timer today it really seems to help me.
Hoping to rip living room carpet up this week and start sanding floorboards so need to move furniture into playroom for a while hence tidy up.Also have one wall left to paint.

Good luck with the weight loss everyone i'm ok weight wise but really need to tone up and start doing more exercise so may join in with that.I'm just so unfit now and also need to pack in smoking.I used to do loads of sports everything from iceskating to jujitsu but it sort of tailed off the last time i recall doing anything was going to the gym last visit about ooh 6 years ago.

tortoise · 07/11/2006 21:58

Kitchen is clean.DW on,WM on,TD on!
Lunch boxes washed out (ds's say Xp1 doesn't wash them each day, eww).
Suis I never thought of doing soup in the slow cooker.I will have to look for some ideas.
Evenings are my bad time but i found recently if i eat boiled sweets i'm ok.I need to see if WW do a meeting near me and buy some of their low point sweets!
As for exercise,by the evening i just can't be bothered.Legs really need toning up.Size 12 jeans would fit if my thighs were thinner!

tortoise · 07/11/2006 22:02

Keep forgetting to say
HN You have made me realise i must get the flu jab this year.I have mild asthma but as i have no-one the DD's would be put in a foster home if i was ever ill enough to need to go to hospital.Much better for me to prevent at least one thing that could cause problems for me.
Sorry it happened to you but thanks for opening my eyes to what could happen.

squatchette · 07/11/2006 22:16

Good thinking Tort i'd be in a mess too if got too ill to look after kids DP couldn't have DD1 on his own and she'd have to live at the hospital (this happened when i had dd2).Maybe i should get a jab never had flu before though and aren't asthmatic but you never know do you.BTW well done on the flying ,how often are your ds's staying over at moment too?Must be chaos with 4 my 2 make so much mess i'd have a nervous breakdown if i had any more.Do they get tidier would you say as they age {{hopeful face emoticon.}}?

HazelnutHazelnutsTree · 07/11/2006 22:21

squatchette, Its good to be home. Sorry to hear about your mum. I would be really lost without my tree

Tortoise, I wash DSs lunch boxes every day. That is ewwww for him to not do that. Its not even a hard job to do. How can SS say he so good and the DSs should live with him I just dont know!!!!!!

My tree has gone to bed. I should be but havea fun time on MN reading threads.

tortoise · 07/11/2006 22:24

Ive never had flu before either but seem to be getting a lot of colds!
DS's sleep over twice a week.Tuesday and Friday.
Well at 9 DS1 is very messy but they were not this bad before. Its down to xp1's mum doing everything for them. They chuck their washing by the door and she picks it up for them! Here they have to put it in a washing basket! I want them to turn into useful men not useless shits like xp1!!
So basically its all in how you train them.
Expect that goes out the window in teenage years!

HazelnutHazelnutsTree · 07/11/2006 22:24

Tortoise. I am glad that some good has come out of me being ill. I have my flu jab booked for the end of the month. I could not get 1 before then. I cant have 1 now as it would not work with the meds I have to take at the mo.

squatchette · 07/11/2006 23:09

Good point Tortoise i'm trying to train them in the ways of the flylady DD2 is very shrewd though and comments that e.g beat the timer is 'hard work not a game mummy' etc.

DD1 only 2 but always keen to help with what ever i'm doing we were on a bus today and some litter had been dropped she said 'urgh messy mummy clean it up'!so must be rubbing off on her.She did however check that the ribena carton was indeed empty and would probably had drunk it if given half a chance.

I never had to do chores growing up and it did me no favours but mum was a born organised type and my grandma would put flylady to shame! She did teach me to cook well though. My ex's Mum used to make him and his brother do chores and he was one of the tidiest men i've known.LOL at comment on your ex-p Tort.

tortoise · 07/11/2006 23:14

I had to do some chores when i was younger. Wish my mum had taught me to cook. She is a great cook but says i was never interested. DS2 loves doing cooking.Well they all do but especially him.
I need to start putting my foot down with the DS's i think! Its so hard to keep an eye on who is dumping what ,where.
I suppose i better go to bed.I have to get DS's to school in the morning then have mother and toddler group to go to.
NN. See you tomorrow sometime.

squatchette · 07/11/2006 23:45

NN Tort( if you're still about) i'm off up the apples'n'pears now too.
