Best smelling laundry detergent

That is it really - what in your opinion is the best smelling laundry detergent that also cleans beautifully?

I like Surf liquid or Bold. Any fragrance except lavender.

ariel bio...smells really clean without overpowering sickly perfume

if you like to smell it, change your brand every few weeks, or keep two packs on the go and use alternately.

Whatever you use consistently, your snout will become used to, and you won't smell it after a while. Use a different one, and you will notice it.

Like the ever wise PigletJohn says, alternate so it stays fresh.

My current faves are

Pink Bold - no need for F/C

Persil and Comfort Bluebell and Bergamot

I really like the Aldi bio liquid (the green one) - it just smells clean. But I use blue Lenor to give the smell to the wash.

I'm using fairy and buttercup and freesia comfort it smells lovely also like tesco b baby white one

Any detergent but always fairy non bio softener - reminds me of babies .

Ecover. It makes clothes smell fresh without being sickly.

DS2's allergic to perfumes and dyes used in regular detergent so he uses Ecover and Ecover softener, his washing smells really fresh.
I've been using Bold but the last few boxes I've had have been rubbish and the clothes just don't come up well with it so I bought a box of the sainsbury's 2in1 powder and its much better and smells nicer than the bold, I also like Persil to and the pink Ecover softener or the comfort pure softener.

Ariel bio is the least offensive smell. I'm using Persil bio at the moment because it was on special offer I quite like its smell because it reminds me of my DM and being a child again so I'm guessing thats what she used to use. It quite a strong laundry smell tho.

I really like the smell of the yellow lenor fabric conditioner but I've stopped using conditioner.

Comfort pure - makes me very happy

Essential waitrose non bio washing powder, noticed a big difference with whites looking brighter , normally shop at lidl and use theirs but noticed a big difference and smells really nice too

The yellow lenor & Tesco none bio liquid detergent smells so lovely that a separate conditioner isn't required.

I make my own washing liquid. At the moment it has Dove soap in and smells lovely.

I change detergent regularly, but Waitrose cedar & jasmine softener is amazing. I save that for my stuff. For school clothes etc I use whatever's on offer. Like to mix it up a bit.

I don’t like anything that smells really strong, or has a silly scent to it. All these tropical, lavender, essential oils etc cleaning products just contain more chemicals and in my experience, just mask smells rather than improving the actual cleaning. Whenever I buy cleaning products, I always just get the “original” one – original green Fairy liquid, Flash, bleach, kitchen cleaner etc. I usually use whatever original bio washing powder is on offer (I don’t like liquids, they leave the washer slimey and smelly) and comfort pure softener. I always stick to the dosing instructions on the box and never go over it. I’ve found this leaves everything smelling clean and fresh with no overpowering scent. I got original Daz last time as it was on offer in Home Bargains, but I’ve just started on a big box of Persil Bio.

I use Lidl's 'Formil' brand non bio powder (big blue one). It's £5.99 at the minute for a big 65 wash box. Whilst I love the cheapness, it is actually one of the few powders I can use that doesn't aggravate mine or dd's overly sensitive skin. I always stick to the same detergent for this reason.

I do alternate fabric softeners so that I get a different fresh smell every month or so. I've had hardly any problems with softeners (bit bizarre, considering) so I pick and choose whatever my nose takes a fancy to. I think my favourite has to be the blue Lenor one though.

I've recently discovered Lenor Unstoppables. They are little pebble things you chuck in the washer with the clothes alongside whatever detergent you are using. They make clothes smell lovely

Fairy, it makes me think of lovely squidgy babies.

I stick a few drops of essential oil into the fabric conditioner bit of the drawer, and that way I can make my own combinations of scents or give a boost to the fabric conditioner if I'm using it as well.
