I know the mission is still on bathroom , but I've done it already, and I think bathroom missions are boring, so today we are going to work on the kids room (or other room of your choice!)

Brilliant!!

I don't have any rugs in the bathroom, and I washed my shower curtain on Monday. (It is a white showercurtain and I happened to be doing a white load on Monday so I bunged it in...)

Not quite sure what is meant by accessories, will wipe over the candle, water the plant, straighten out pot of toothbrushes, hairbrushes etc... That will take oooh.... all of 2 minutes...

But, did not do anything to dd's room yesterday, so will do that today.

Have fun all!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 18/10/2006 08:02

Dont need to do anything in the girls room other than sort the towels and linen cupboard so should take me all of 5 mins!!!

Luckily my kids are still young enough that all they ever do in there is sleep!!!

Will try and tackle some of the spare room if the girls permit - DH is off to docs this morning so may well be under my feet all day!!! (but the way his docs have been acting, im not holding out much hope!)

scarymaryme · 18/10/2006 08:03

Phew....spent ALL day catching up on the cleaning yesterday!! Blitz the bathroom and downstairs loo, did the kitchen, living room and our bedroom. Cleaned the blinkin hamster out (note to self...don't leave a 1 year old and a 3 year old in charge of a hamster in a ball!!!!!)
Today I need to just dust everywhere (especially the bathroom)
Good idea Jan...need to tidy both kids bedrooms, as ds is getting a new bed, and dd2 is moving in with dd1 HURRRRAAAGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally we can have our bedroom back.... (I'll believe it when I see it!)

scarymaryme · 18/10/2006 08:04

OOhh husbands under feet...not good...mine was at home all afternoon yesterday. Hope yours is ok j&rmummy.

batinshoes · 18/10/2006 08:13

Morning all.

DD poorly again with another tummy byg. Damn pre-school

Doubt I'll get much FLYing done but will try and tidy her room later to keep in the spririt

LemonTart · 18/10/2006 08:23

oh for bedrooms that are only bedrooms! My DDs room is also their playroom as we have limited no. of rooms and so keep toys upstairs as much as possible. They have both been ill and their room is a tip. They are either playing badly so get everything out in an attempt to find something, then become all listless and fll asleep on their beds - so I can? tidy up. Also, not really the best time to encourage them to pick up after themselves as they are genuinely poorly and miserable..
Might have a day off and just cope with looking after the girls today as they need my attention more than my clutter

QueenQuootieSpookypieBee · 18/10/2006 08:47

Cor, im shattered. Tempted to curl back in bed this morning as DS was content just to pull his feet, but made myself go and have a shower, get dressed, etc. Had breakfast but theres noooooooo way im tackling the nursery without DH. Theres tons of DSs shopping in there and I just cant be bothered to do it.

shazdisembodiedronnie · 18/10/2006 09:07

my kids bedroom looks like a fight in a plastic food factory after some pretend cooking yesterday.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 18/10/2006 09:14

aww bless.

Well DH is at work but not sure how long for - he feels like he has been hit by a bus, all shakey and then hot, doc has said its the flu virus going around but has said to just take paracetemol and drink plenty of fluids!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

boomie · 18/10/2006 09:42

Well after yesterday saying that my bathroom was OK, I have decided to stick with FLYlady and clean my bathroom. As DH did the school run this morning, so far (in the bathroom) I have:

  • cleaned the windows
  • polished the mirrors
  • cleaned all the tiles
  • cleaned the bath
  • in the middle of cleaning the shower cubicle.

Phew!!! Although I'm a bit kn*ckered, feel much better and it looks all sparkly.

back from school run......
Men with the flu...nothing worse (well my dh is a mare when ill anyway!!)
Right, off to tackle dusting and might bake a cake!

asleep · 18/10/2006 10:02

a good day so far. found motivation again.

  • showered, showered DD, gave DS a bath
  • had breakfast
  • did school run
  • did 15 minutes in living room
  • played with DS on his playmat for a while he's now nodded off and i will go do 15 minutes in the kitchen.
Surfermummystomb · 18/10/2006 10:04

Morning all. New recruit here.

Yesterday morning I filled the bath with water and Daz and have left it, so am off to empty and wipe it round in a minute. Hopefully it'll be gleaming.

Will do the shower curtain and bath mat after that.

Dh was at home yesterday too, so I let him watch whatever he wanted to on the telly ............. provided he did the ironing. I was sooooo behind with it, he had mountains to do, but he did the lot. It's probably the single most useful thing (to me anyway) that the Navy taught him.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 18/10/2006 10:25

Have only manages to get up, get washed and dressed, make bed, brought down dirty washing and rubbish from upstairs, wipes surfaces in kitchen and tidies living room.

Really need to start upstairs, but Becky is sleeping, and when she wakes I need to go to Asda because my brother and SIL are coming over for tea tonight.

Once we are back, it will be lunch time, and then Jess will go for a sleep! I cant win.... I will get it done one day! It would have maybe been better if DH was home today - he could have entertained one child while the other was sleeping!!!

SusiSkelletonInTheCloset · 18/10/2006 10:25

morning!
welcome surfer - well, at least one (!) usefull thing

haven't done anything so far.
BUT ds didn't get up once during the night 'woheyyyy' - he did wake me at 6.10 though climbing into my bed quietly, lying next to me and telling me it's time to get up

well, we are up, fed, watered and dressed!
oh, i did the d/w - just needs more filling up and then it can go.
highchairs are clean.
floor is sweeped.
kitchen is clean(ish) - i realised still lots of decluttering to do
but surfaces are empty

ohhhh dp took the rubbish out last night - without me prompting

i tidied the kids bedrooms yesterday but just like jarms ones my kids are still a bit young and hardly play in their room - so fairly easy

the playroom gets used all the time though and looks like it

to-do-list

  • drop ds off at nursery at 1pm
  • declutter bathroom
  • scrub bath
  • wash bathmat
  • declutter kitchen

that should do for the beginning.

we are having roast chicken tonight; for once i didn't forget and took it out of the freezer yesterday before i went to bed

Bucketsofbloodydinosaurs · 18/10/2006 10:25

Oh sod! My BIL and his girlfriend are staying over tomorrow night to babysit (wahey!!!) and there's no curtains in the front room where they'll be sleeping! Was meant to pick up a roller blind from a friend but even if I manage that, DH is out tonight and won't put it up. Would it be rude to give them a screwdriver to do it themselves?
Can't be arsed to do much flying today, did loads yesterday and have run out of drying space. Although it's looking quite sunny...

Surfermummystomb · 18/10/2006 10:27

He learnt loads of filthy songs too.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 18/10/2006 10:30

lucky you BOBD - sun!! Its grey and horrible here.

DH did put washing in machine when he got up this morning and even managed to get it into the tumble dryer before his docs appointment so thats one less job for me!

He has also folded the washing that was in there, so I just need to put it away.

My girls dont have ANY toys in their bedroom - yet! Dad has bought Jessi a dolls house with all the accessories for christmas so that will live in their bedroom, but until Becky is in a bed I cant see the point of toys up there to be honest!

One day I will have my living room back!!! (She says as Jessica has just emptied the 3 wicker baskets of toys all over the floor!!!)

jasnDISMemBERED · 18/10/2006 10:30

Hello and welcome new fly babies...

Today I have
done yesterdays washing up
one load of washing finishing, yesterdays put away
cleaned kitchen surfaces
sorted kids clothes (last job in kids room)
Mine are old enough to have all their toys banished to their room so downstairs is toy free (except that ds is now needing more stuff so baby toys are down)but upstairs is alsways a disaster.

I dream of having a play room....

OP posts:
Surfermummystomb · 18/10/2006 10:32

I've just moved dd's toys up to her room JARM. She's gone into a bunk bed with her sister, my step-d, instead of them having 2 separate beds. It is wonderful to have my lounge back and I feel so much more relaxed in the evening, instead of looking at piles of toys.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 18/10/2006 10:32

ill join you in the play room dream..... one day maybe!! I need a huge house really... is it too much to ask for a large kitchen/diner, a utility room, a living room, a dining room, a study, a play room, a craft room, a family bathroom, dowsnstairs toilet,an en-suite and 4 good size bedrooms?! ROFL!!!! In my wildest dreams!

asleep · 18/10/2006 10:35

kitchen is tidy.
bottles are sterilised.
dishwasher emptied and filled with breakfast stuff.
making pear puree for DS now.

tomorrow is 10p listing day on ebay, so i'm going to sort out some stuff to sell today and take photos of it all.
