I am NOT going out now! Huge clap of thunder and now chucking it down outside!
Hopefully the floor bloke won't be here long today and i can go down town after he has gone!
Too big a job to do in one afternoon anyway!

ParanoidAndroid · 16/10/2006 11:10

Hi all - I've had a busy morning so far. Didn't run to school as per usual as was carrying loads of letters for the PTA. Am about to go and walk dogs (will walk briskly I promise!) and then will run to the school to do the pick up. The thing is that I've been doing loads of running lately so should be losing weight. But it's boosted my appetite and I just can't stop eating!! Once I've gone through umpteen pieces of fruit then I move on to the biscuits. So I'm getting really toned, and am pretty fit aerobically but the weight ain't shifting, d*mn it.

Beds done, bathroom done (though not the mission - will have to include make up etc from bedroom in that one), washing machine, dishwasher, downstairs loo etc etc. Clipped dog's nails plus clipped guinea pig's nails (the big hairy dog was fine about it, the blooming guinea pig bit me!!!)

Ruby - I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. Don't do too much though. My mum always swears by a herbal tonic called Floradix, when recovering from a virus. TBH, it tastes ghastly but it does seem to work.

I wear no make up generally. I'm religious about cleansing and moisturising, but unless I'm going somewhere and need to glam up a bit, I'm afraid I go 'au naturel'. At 42 I'm not sure if I can get away with that now, so I was considering going to one of the counters in the A&N and asking them to do my face so I could get some pointers!!!! I wouldn't want to come out looking like some of them though - scary marys....

I hope everyone else is feeling ok. Tort - I did laugh at the black lipstick! I bet you looked amazing!

Off for brisk walk now....

I think it would have done about two weeks ago as the goth look (now called emo apparently - shows how old I am) was 'in' then. According to the paper at the weekend, it's now 'out'.

So sorry Ruby, I think you've missed the boat on that one

Way to go Ruby!

(don't forget to include the visible edge of your foundation (thick and powdery) plus the slight blue/purple tinge to your hair)

Right I really AM going for this dog walk now. The mutts are standing downstairs crossing their legs!!

TortUREoiseChamber · 16/10/2006 11:28

Looking tidyer in here now! Won't be too embarassed to let the floor man in!

Party not till saturday so not tried the black lippy yet! Better get rid of the dry skin before then or it will look hideous!

batinshoes · 16/10/2006 11:36

Hi All.

Just left DD at pre-school on her own for the last hour, sooooo came back and have hoovered downstairs.

Now on MN as my reward

Feels weird without DD here

TortUREoiseChamber · 16/10/2006 11:45

Wow hope she enjoys it.

flossieteacake · 16/10/2006 11:45

I actually have an ENORMOUS box of products I will NEVER use, I might just chuck the box without looking through it, since there'll always be a reason to keep everything if I think about it!

If you go to the bigger Boots stores, they have a lady milling around who will do your makeup and give you some tips, and since she doesn't work for a particular company, she won't try to make you buy anything (and will use a variety of brands) - Fab.

I have some body shop vouchers at the mo, so might go for a little consulatation there too.

Don't be under the illiusion that I am a glam svelte yummy mummy. I have just been to town wearing enough tinted moisturiser to disguise the big spot on my nose only. BFing has given me the skin of a teenager, sadly I don't mean in the fresh youthful way

boomie · 16/10/2006 11:47

Bat - my DD2 started pre-school on Fri and is there again this morning. I know how you feel - the house is sooooo quiet - very strange not having her around. Oh well, peace and quiet over - off to pick her up now

Bucketsofbloodydinosaurs · 16/10/2006 11:52

I wear mascara most days, add eyeshadow and liner for nights out and only use foundation for weddings or where there is likely to be a camera. I never wear lipstick because life is too short to be reapplying it all the time and my DH is scared of me when I wear it. It does make me look like a tranny TBH

LemonTart · 16/10/2006 11:57

I was on top of things, sticking to the rules, load a day, shiny sink blah blah.
Then DD2 was sick. Everywhere. ON her bed - twice, our bed, the sofa, various carpets, her sisters bed etc etc. Now my house is like a launderette, nowhere has been dusted or hoovered for days and days. At least we have clean bedding on the beds!!
I did not one kitchen zone thing last week so have just cleaned out my fridge and my microwave. Decluttered my bathroom (not much to do there really) and will deep clean it tomorrow if DD will let me (rather needy and clingy still, bless her).

Oh well. Baby steps....

TortUREoiseChamber · 16/10/2006 11:58

How do i get wax crayon off a wall?
Those eraser things take the paint off even though its suppose to be wipe clean paint!

asleep · 16/10/2006 12:01

i am surprised how dirty our bathroom was. i clean it weekly in addition to usual swish and swipe. the grout is so yucky. any tips for cleaning that?

asleep · 16/10/2006 12:02

TortUREoiseChamber · 16/10/2006 12:04
