How often do you wash your bras?

DH has made me wonder after he asked me if I wear a clean bra every day. I don't as I don't consider my boobs to be an 'exit'!

So how often do you wash yours?

How many do you have? I have 4 on rotation.

While I wouldn't wear a bra for two weeks without washing in between I don't find it grim. I don't sweat in that area. I merely wash to refresh because my bras never get sweaty or dirty.

People who wash them after one wear: do you also wash any clothing that touches your skin after one wear?

I only wash knickers and socks after one wear! Everything else gets a couple of uses.

Miss Yes! Any clothing that sits right next to my skin is washed after one wear. T shirts, jeans....some jumpers but not all. If I wear a shirt or top under a jumper then I won't wash the jumper.

It's a bit manky not to!

I used to have loads but currently have 4 or 5. Clean on every day of course.

I have over 30, in lots of different styles including sports & strapless, pretty ones and everyday ones.

I wash them after two or three wears usually, more often in hot weather. I machine wash them all.

Knickers and socks are only worn once.

Manky not to wash jeans after one wear!!!

Don't you wear any knickers?

Knickers and socks always go in the wash after one wear. Usually T-shirts do, but I am not a sweaty betty so sometimes I can wear a T-shirt for two days before washing. Putting jeans, trousers and skirts in the wash after one wear is incredibly wasteful and silly, unless you have a mucky job or baby/toddler gunk on your clothes.

It's no wonder that some people have their washing machine on several times a day.

I have about 10 bras and I wear a clean one every day. Somedays I change twice a day. I keep them for three months then replace them. I have large breasts and doing it this way suits me.

I can't believe all these people who have 20+ bras - unless they actually only have a few in current size and like me still have ones from when they were a different size in the hope that one day they might lose some weight? And the PP who buys new ones every three months - why?

I have one that I wear for the three days I work then two I wear the rest of the time so wash every three days unless I get particularly sweaty. Almost always wear black bras as stay looking good 10x longer than eg white ones - unless if course I wear a white top which I haven't done since having DC.

CariadsDarling · 09/11/2014 15:57

Why do I buy new bras every 3 months?

Because I find that after a few months of regular wear and washing they start to not do the job I want them to do.

CariadsDarling · 09/11/2014 16:01

Oh and when I buy white top I buy two of the same if its a shirt or blouse, and 3 if its a white t-shirt. I do this because I have bad eyesight and I can drop bits when I'm eating, and if I don't then one of my 5 grandchildren usually do it for me.

LightastheBreeze · 09/11/2014 16:15

Every 1-2 days, depends on what I am doing. I am fairly flat chested though so can buy cheapish bras from M&S and have lots. I try to get the ones I like in the sale and put them in the washing machine and tumble dryer (washing line in summer).

If i was bigger though and needed more support and probably more expensive bras which I would have to wash carefully, I probably wouldn't wash them as often and certainly wouldn't have as many.

wonkylegs · 09/11/2014 16:21

Usually every 2/3 wears but if it's hot or I'm sweaty it goes in the wash or at the moment whilst I'm pregnant every wear as I'm hotter and sweatier than usual.
