if you don't have a toilet brush, and hate bleach, what do you use on skid marks?

Sorry for the title, and no, I'm not the poo troll.
So I get the idea about no toilet brushes; they are grim
But I also get the impression bleach is much maligned on MN.
So, when DH leaves skid marks down the toilet, how do you get rid of them?
Currently he squirts bleach on them, but he gets through gallons of the stuff. What is a better option?

You flush it first. Fresh loo water would probably get a blue flag award if it were a beach.

I think when people are cleaning the skid marks off with bare hands it's from the side of the toilet and not from below the water line.

I've heard that mumsnet chestnut before about how bleach only whitens skid marks and doesn't get rid of them. If that were true then the 2 sides of my toilet would most likely be meeting in the middle by now Grin

Remove the syphon from the cistern and fit a Flapper Valve (the cistern will have to come off)

A flapper essentially opens a trapdoor in the bottom of the cistern and lets the water fall out, so it as forceful a flush as you can get. You might also be able to tinker with the float adjustment, to bring the water level in the cistern as high as it will go without reaching the overflow pipe.

And do please try Parazone Bleach Blocks on the cistern.
