where do you keep wrapping paper rolls??

BobPatandIgglePiggle · 13/08/2014 19:12

Mine is shoved down the side of a cupboard and keeps unrolling / ds pulls it out etc.

I've looked at wrapping paper holders but don't really want to pay a tenner greedy

Any cheapish solutions?

We keep ours in a drawer of a Malm chest of drawers from ikea, that is in the garage, because it had been left here by the previous occupants of this house and was superfluous. They're out of the way, yet accessible, and the drawer is exactly the correct length.

Quite a specific reply, but still... Grin

I have a fab fab bag from 24 studio

lemonfolly · 13/08/2014 19:19

stick an old loo roll tube around it and it wont unravel - cheap :)

HappySunflower · 13/08/2014 19:20

This:

But mine was bought in the sale a few years ago for about £4

EmmanuelWoganberry · 13/08/2014 19:23

I keep them on top of the wardrobe with a scrunchie around the tube. Cheap and out of the way but not as beautiful as a proper bag thing

RustyBear · 13/08/2014 19:29

I keep mine on this, on the landing. Probably the only useful thing to come out of MIL's house.

Like Emanuel I use scrunchies to keep them rolled up -DD moved out two years ago, but I still keep finding them...

where do you keep wrapping paper rolls??
RustyBear · 13/08/2014 19:30

That should read in this...

NannyR · 13/08/2014 19:37

One of these

Layl77 · 13/08/2014 19:39

Top of kitchen cupboard

NerfHerder · 13/08/2014 19:40

Surely you can only fit about 5 rolls in that, nannyr?

I like wrapping paper a little too much, perhaps.

concretefeet · 13/08/2014 19:44

Yes, IKEA holder.

frames · 13/08/2014 19:45

In a long thin JL carrier upstairs with toys, games, arty type stuff.

TooMuchToDoTooLittleInclinatio · 13/08/2014 19:46

I keep one 'girls' & one 'boys' on the go in the wardrobe and far too much a few other rolls up in the lovely big loft which has a loft ladder - so no hassle to get it out.

wowfudge · 13/08/2014 19:56

I've got a plastic lidded box from Argos on top of a wardrobe.

Lovage · 13/08/2014 20:14

A long shallow drawer in a cupboard thing. Unrolls a bit but usually it's so stuffed full with other stuff that it's okay

erin99 · 13/08/2014 20:20

We tie the plastic wrapping round like a dressing gown cord to stop them unravelling, and keep them stood up in a wastepaper bin, in the bottom of a wardrobe.

Iamblossom · 13/08/2014 20:23

Under the bed

motleymop · 13/08/2014 20:28

This is a good thread, OP! I didn't even know I needed to know this and now suddenly I realise I have been struggling with the same issue without thinking about trying to find a solution!

wonkylegs · 13/08/2014 20:34

I used to keep them in the bottom drawer of my plan chest but until my studio is built that's in storage so at the moment I have a long thin cardboard box that's open at one end - stores 16/18 rolls and sits in the corner of my study.

frames · 13/08/2014 20:35

It is a great post I am sadly tempted to photograph my storage bag and share it! The bin in the wardrobe idea is a great one.

MrsMillions · 13/08/2014 20:38

I have one of the Really Useful boxes in wrapping paper size, kept under spare bed. Have a surplus of gold curling ribbon so have tied the rolls up with small lengths of that. Love the scrunchie idea. DM uses a drawer in her sideboard, next to dining table which is a perfect wrapping surface (I usually end up on spare room floor).

BobPatandIgglePiggle · 13/08/2014 21:15

Wow - who knew that wrapping paper storage would provoke so many replies! I like the proper bag happy

Also really like the ikea one, it would go in a cupboard and take up no room at all. Wonder if they do it in the uk...

My rolls of Christmas wrapping paper are still on my bedroom floor. I realise this is not good.
