Next door's washing has been on the line for over a week now ...

and I'm sick of looking at it! She is a professional 30-something, her front and back gardens are jungle-like. It was out there in that awful weather we had at the beginning of last week, some of it has blown onto the ground and she still can't be bothered to pick it up.
Don't know why it bothers me, but it just does!

In case you are thinking the worst, I've seen her going to and fro in her convertible, so she is fit and able.

She is a slattern and should be ashamed.

I felt profoundly uneasy about leaving a lot of washing out overnight, after it got caught in a deluge, I have to say. It felt so wrong

she prob left it out to dry, then it rained, so she kept it there to dry again (repeat several times)

must admit the 'blown on the ground' stuff must be v annoying

oh the days before kids when you only needed to do a wash once a week

Well what on earth are you to do if your washing keeps getting rained on before it's had time to dry?? Mine was out for at least 3 days last week before it had chance to dry

My next dor neighbour NEVER gets caught out with rain on her washing. She hangs it out it drys she takes it in. I hang mine out it rains, rains, rains, I take it in and wash it again and repeat from beginning ... I bought a tumble drier

I just bring mine after it's eventually dried once I've flicked off the little spiders that live in the pegs.

I leave my pegs on the line too.

I must drive my neighbours insane.
They cut thier grass so neatly, not a blade out of place. Mine, jungle like then hacked with holes in it.
She hangs out her washing colour co-ordinated AND size descending. I lob mine over the line pegless and it blows round the garden till I catch it again to stuff it in the wash.

Im sure when she puts in on the market she will politely ask me to sort it out or offer to do it for me

My neighbour does this, he's slightly mad though. My sil was totally fascinated by it, wondering what he wore whilst his underwear dried/got rained on for several weeks in a row....can't say I've ever cared about it, it's his washing line he can do what he wants.

That'll be me then apart from my gardens look lovely. Never thought it would bother the neighbours

Our old flatmate was much worse than this..

he'd put washing in the machine..forget about it for two days..have to run it through the cycle again as it smelt of damp..leave it for two days again..and so on..and so on..
we once went away for a week and I swear it was the same washing as had been in when we set off..
it made the seal go mouldy..
asshole..

he always refused to sort it out when I brought it up so one time i got dp to dump the wet mouldy smelling clothes on his bed..hehe

And I clicked on this thinking you were worried about her in some way - you know weakly croaking for help/small trickle of blood, while the milk piles up and the washing flaps in the rain.

Nah!...she's a slattern and no mistake.

(I have left mine out in the rain before now because there was no room for it indoors. Oh, the shame!)

Mine's out there now in a downpour.
