and I'm sick of looking at it! She is a professional 30-something, her front and back gardens are jungle-like. It was out there in that awful weather we had at the beginning of last week, some of it has blown onto the ground and she still can't be bothered to pick it up.
Don't know why it bothers me, but it just does!

In case you are thinking the worst, I've seen her going to and fro in her convertible, so she is fit and able.

babyonboard - I shared a house with someone similar.

Whenever she washed her clothes, she would leave them in the machine. If you wanted to wash your stuff, you would have to take hers out. I used to put them on the airer in the bathroom, but she wouldn't remove them from there for ages either.

Once I folded all her clothes after they had dried and put them on a chair in the kitchen - after they had been there for about a week, I moved them and put them on her bed.

Two weeks later I went into her room with a cup of tea in the morning and she had been sleeping one side of the bed with the clothes on the other side!!!

TheLadyVanishes · 01/06/2006 13:25

well it will certainly have the outdoor smell Grin

Blackduck · 01/06/2006 13:33

she obviously isn't watching that Anthea program - is that for real??

Kelly1978 · 01/06/2006 13:34

start a bonfire Wink

Securlurking · 01/06/2006 13:41

just an idea - but if it starts to rain couldn't you pop round and get it in for her?

You know do the whole "good neighbour" thing instead of hanging around sniping about her in "good housekeeping"?

Flossam · 01/06/2006 13:43

hangs head as washing now out for over a week.

jamsam · 01/06/2006 13:44

i agree, just put it in a basket and leave it on the door step for her...maybe she has reasons, i know i've left washing out in bad weather before now...

FrayedKnot · 01/06/2006 14:06

You're just jealous that she has a life.

Well I'm assuming she has, as she drives a convertible and has no time to do laundry.

She is wanton, reckless, and let's face it, probably sees a lot more excitement in one night than we do in ten years.

arfishymeau · 01/06/2006 23:25

I always re-wash my stuff if it gets rained on. I hadn't thought that this was odd until now.

It just seems wrong, like it's been polluted or something.

Skribble · 01/06/2006 23:51

I am too busy to even bother hanging it out, if I was to hang it out I wouldn't be in to bring it back in, so mostly it goes in the tumble dryer.

OK its mainly because I can't be bothered to faff about hanging it up for it just to rain and it is nver properly dry, has pag marks on it and too crumpled, so it still goes in the dryer Grin.

ChaCha · 02/06/2006 00:13

Emmm..mines were out for 3 days last week. I was full of good intentions when I did several loads, but it got late, clothes get damp, need airing, leave till next day, go out, forget...catch my drift?

I could always turn into my mum or MIL and watch the weather constantly to see if it's a 'good day for the washing' and jump up and down at window/back door at the first sign of a contradiction to weather report. Geesh, that really would be turning into my own worst nightmare!

threebob · 02/06/2006 07:33

I rinse and spin mine if it gets caught out in the rain for a while.

Love living in a one storey house, because you don't have to look at other people's gardens or washing ever.

I would love to do the neighbourly thing and leave her washing neatly folded in a basket by the door, but I would have to scramble over a 6 foot fence to do it and dodge the 4 foot thistles, so I think not! (can see washing from ds's bedroom window when opening/drawing the curtains, i don't peep through knotholes in the fence!) Grin

are you sure she's not having a stand-off with her partner

"will you bring in the washing"

"yes dear"

"so, are you going to bring the washing in?"

"yes in a minute>

"you know the washing's still out there don't you?.

"yes, I'll get it ... stop nagging>

noddyholder · 02/06/2006 08:32

nosy parker

niceglasses · 02/06/2006 08:33

Oh god I'm glad you don't live next to me. Mine can be hung on the climbing frame for sodding weeks, man , weeks.

Don't you have a book to read or summat??

Noddy, do you know me? Wink

this is all very tongue in cheek and I couldn't really give a monkey's cuss, I've got better things to worry about than washing, just thought it would make a good thread. so there!

I think I am a slattern so does me good to hear of others........makes me think I'm not alone.

I'm also guilty of the leaving washing-in-washer-and-doing-again-as-has-gone-smelly routine.

hunkermunker · 02/06/2006 08:58

PMSL in an uneasy fashion at this thread... Must get washing out of machine and let it get rained on gently. Or sit and whiff a bit in a blue Ikea bag. [shame]

beansontoast · 02/06/2006 09:00

morning all

PMSL ....this is SO f*ing funny....no emoticon is sufficient!

rickman · 02/06/2006 09:30

I've got 2 tops on the line that have been out there since the weekend! My mum hung them out and it's rained so much they are permanently wet, plus I just can't be arsed. Hopefully she will get them in when she comes around tomorrow.
