How do you store hairbands and hair clips?

I have 2 dds and a seemingly ever increasing supply of hairbands and clips. They are currently kept in a little box and tipped out each time I do their hair. I know there must be a better way. How and in what do you store the paraphernalia for your dds' hair? TIA

With clips I put them in one of the drawers but in an old cotton bud box so they don't get stuck in the seagrass!
Plenty of room for that kind of storage (keep my rollers in there too Smile )

I have a little drawer unit too. We have toomany hair clips and bands etc. I keep all mine in baskets, keeping similar ones together. Will try and remember to take a picture in the morning. I have seen some great ways of displaying them with a long piece of pretty ribbon and all the hair clips attached to it :)

Down the back of the sofa, on top of the fridge, at the end of the bath and on the bedstead

Wet bags from changing bags. One for school hair bands and one for weekend hair bands.

I store them by scattering them liberally around the house, in places they are particularly unlikely to be seen when needed.

haaaaaaaahahaha I remember the booble plate thread with much fondness! It was ace.
I have made one of those ribbon jobbies for hair clips and have a basket for bobbles...........but they are mostly in the places chickensalad mentioned. I may invest in a vintage jar like katymac as a) I like all things vintage and b) being able to see what you want to get at is a great advantage.

A friend of mine has those little wooden drawers from ikea and has them all coloured coded life is too short but she is very organised Wink

I got a cheap kitchen roll metal upright stand and I slip all of the hair bands over that.

I saw a pin on pinterest that I thought was pretty clever. All hair bands on a carabiner, like this.

4 dds with far too much hair...

Downstairs: in a big Seagrass container in cloakroom toilet. Then also in a little pottery bowl made by one of the dds.

Mid level: elastics in bathroom (I have longish hair also)

Top floor: spread all over floor throughout three bedrooms, under beds, in kids bathroom. Basically, any nook and cranny you could find.

Am willing to discover new and ingenious solutions for more order, but I know the problem is transferring said hair decorations from head to storage container.

I was also going to suggest a carabiner, I've not tried it, but seen it on pinterest and will try it as soon as I remember to buy a carabiner.

In theory we have a pot for slides. Hair bobbles go on the handle of a bell, but taking them off is a pain which is where I hope the carabiner will work.
In reality they're scattered all over the house with concentrations in DD's bedroom, the bathroom and down the back of the sofa. When I tidy I end up with pockets full of them.

I'm considering only ever buying one colour of hair bobbles.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with a home festooned with hair related items. Do like the look of the carabiner MrsHiddleston and the idea of the magnetic strip Elizabeth22. Thanks for all suggestions.

I bought some ribbon. Sewed a loop of cotton to the top. I used that no-fray glue (Hobbycraft/ John Lewis haberdashery, etc.).
Clip a pretty clip at top and clip your ours all the way down the length of the ribbon. Looks lovely. Sooo simple. My loops are rubbish but don't show as are in pale cotton. Need a hook/ small nail in wall / inside of cupboard door.
