Does anyone hate their washing machine?

I have had enough of my washing machine! I find modern machines don't use enough water and have longer wash times what causes more friction and wears clothes out quicker. Does anyone else find this happening?

I hate mine. It’s an LG one and was really expensive. I bought it as there were 7 of us in the house at the time and I wanted a big machine that meant I needed only to do 1 wash per day. I never usually take out insurance on anything household but so glad I did with this. The rubber seal has a huge space in between it and the drum and I have had an engineer out once every 6-12 months to rescue clothes from it..socks to thongs which get trapped in the he piping. I have tried using the little bags to put stalls into but the clothes don’t come out clean in them.

My Bosch is about 14 years old and has been moved up five flights of stairs, down (and probably dropped, knowing the fuckwit that moved it) them, across town on its side in the back of a car and shifted round the kitchen a couple of times.

The softener/powder drawer is a shit design, as it constantly bungs up, but I've no real complaints about it; it's purely mechanical and has only needed a couple of underwires things retrieved from inside the filter a couple of times. Most things come up clean with Daz on a 30 synthetics wash, bedding and towels/teatowels/cleaning cloths go on a 60 whites. The 90 wash takes forever, but comes into play when somebody is ill.

The handle is held together with Gorilla Glue, the panel is slightly cracked, the seal is getting slightly ragged and it's definitely nowhere near as white as it used to be, but I think it's earned its place and was worth the money I paid for it. It outlasted the posher dishwasher I got at the same time which tried to set itself on fire a year ago, so got comprehensively binned.

When I have to replace it, I'm debating between a large load model or an entry level Miele, as I lurve my Miele freezer and vacuum cleaner. But I'm going to have to get a better paid job before that happens.

You will have to drag my Bosch Easy Access fridge out of my cold, dead hands, though. Having slide out trays rather than racks was a fucking revelation.
