Do you keep them spotless and stain free? Or are they a bit greasy and look well used? How often do you clean them??????

Minging. Wonder we've not got dysentery really. On the incredibly rare occasions that I do clean my oven, then the Lakeland stuff is the best imo

catinboots · 03/03/2013 15:52

Utter filth

Bluemonkeyspots · 03/03/2013 15:53

Disgusting, I buy new ones when we have visitors then the whole grotty saga starts all over again

MousyMouse · 03/03/2013 15:58

pretty clean, but only a couple of weeks old...

ilovepowerhoop · 03/03/2013 16:53

ours are washed after every use. They do get discoloured but are clean

ilovepowerhoop · 03/03/2013 16:54

p.s. and I gather you mean trays you put food on rather than the racks that are in the oven already

Chippychop · 03/03/2013 17:23

Yes i do mean trays..Washed after every use..I am humbled. I was a bit embarrassed about mine today when we had friend over. May replace soon... I'm normally rather tidy but obviously a bit of a lazy arse when it comes to the trays!

they go in the dishwasher after every use, so not bad, but perhaps some burnt on bits.

Black enamel doesn't show the dirt like stainless does. A green scourer will get it clean.

dizzyday07 · 03/03/2013 18:56

If you mean the trays you cook food on then after every use! Just like you would clran pots and pans. Mine have gone black but are still scrubbed and scoured clean.

KatyTheCleaningLady · 03/03/2013 19:20

Mine look awful. I scrub them to get the actual food and grease off, but the black stuff is there to stay. And I don't care.

Spotless, we normally line with foil or stick them in the dishwasher.

fussychica · 04/03/2013 16:24

Always washed after every use but I do find the non stick type look grotty relatively quickly. I tend to buy cheap and replace fairly often. My DH would replace them even quicker than I do given half a chance!

Pascha · 04/03/2013 16:27

Washed every time food goes directly on them. I imagine they would stink if they had bits of old food/sauce/burnt bits going rancid in my oven.

FannyFifer · 04/03/2013 16:31

I just put foil over them, change each time, trays still look manky though.

catlady1 · 04/03/2013 19:03

Mine are gross. Well not actually gross, I do wash them everytime I use them but they seem to be permanently blackened and a bit greasy.

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/03/2013 19:20

Mils are pristine.

She doesn't even use foil. Or have a dishwasher.

I do not know how she does it.

InNeedOfBrandy · 04/03/2013 19:25

I use foil and was after everytime and they still aren't great.

ihearsounds · 04/03/2013 19:32

While I'm eating, the tray is soaked in very, very hot soapy water.. Then when I can be arsed to wash it, or chuck in dish washer (not all my trays can go in the dish washer) easy to clean and everything comes off. Just needs a got scrub instead of a rub.

CrazyOldCatLady · 07/03/2013 13:30

I use foil for particularly messy things, and handwash, then put them in the dishwasher. When they get too discoloured DH tackles them with Fairy something-or-other, which practically melts the trays, never mind the dirt. So they're not too bad at all.

How could you not wash them after every use?

ruddynorah · 07/03/2013 13:33

Mine are immaculate, but they're glass not metal. Cleaned in the dishwasher. No black bits etc.

TooYappy · 07/03/2013 13:34

Mines are OK, no dishwasher so I let them soak in washing powder when dirty then Fairy, then water, then throw them back in again.

I have a solid black one, I have no idea if it has always been black, I think so....

soontobeslendergirl · 07/03/2013 13:38

I have solid, not enamel not not stick trays. They go in the dishwasher after every use. occaisionally put foil on but really just for grilling bacon or something.

Plomino · 07/03/2013 13:42

Mine are not too horrific , but have managed to school DH into chucking a load of washing soda into them and a kettle of boiling water most times he uses them, then leaving them to soak for an hour , before washing them . Seems to work pretty ok .

FlatCapAndAWhippet · 10/03/2013 10:42

Mine are black ish looking, discoloured but clean, washed and scrubbed after every use.
