How often do you change bedding?

Just wondering.... I'd love clean sheets once a week but, to be honest, we're not very sweaty and it seems a bit of a waste of energy (mine and electricity) to do it more than once every two weeks.

when it walks to the machine by itself!

BeginnerSAHM · 03/03/2013 14:19

Grin That's what I like to hear!

I do the DC's every week, but ours get washed every couple of weeks (ish)

Sunnyshores · 03/03/2013 16:15

I set a reminder on my phone for changing them every 2 weeks..... about a week later I actually do it!!

OhMyNoReally · 03/03/2013 16:25

Every Thursday but I like a routine.

Monday general housework and laundry, Tuesday laundry away, baking, picking up and putting away, Wednesday more laundry and general housework, Thursday laundry away, beds done and tidying, Friday chores in town, bedding away and tidying, Saturday shopping and family time and Sunday baking and tidying up with some laundry. If I don't do this the house is a mess in seconds.

NeitherShreddedNorSmug · 03/03/2013 16:26

Saturday morning weekly chore here!

chanie44 · 03/03/2013 16:33

Every other week here. I just don't have the time to do it weekly with the amount of washing two preschoolers generate........

reastie · 03/03/2013 18:20

Every week here

UnknownGnome · 03/03/2013 21:42

I do ours every week, but only one bed at a time so each bed gets changed every 3 weeks. Sometimes I do an interim fitted sheet and flat sheet only wash.

BeginnerSAHM · 03/03/2013 22:05

Thanks everybody for replying. I'll stick to once a fortnight(ish)....

OP posts:
WickWackThurso · 03/03/2013 22:08

Ours once a week on a Sunday (all towels on a Sat), and dds once a fortnight unless milk spilled etc (alternate).

Wewereherefirst · 03/03/2013 22:09

Thursdays for the DC's Friday for mine and whenever guests have left for the guest bed.

I love clean sheets!

NotQuitePerfect · 04/03/2013 10:54

Once a week (us). About every 10-14 days (dc's)

When we've had guests, I've got their bed stripped & in the wash before their car has completely moved off the drive.

Meglet · 04/03/2013 10:57

Every couple of weeks, sometimes more often for the dc's. I shower and wear clean pj's every night so it seems pointless washing sheets every week.

AwkwardSquad · 04/03/2013 19:27

Weekly. I like the feel of clean sheets. I only have to do one bed, though!

surroundedbyblondes · 04/03/2013 19:34

Weekly for our bed. Every 10 or so days for the DDs.

ToeCap · 04/03/2013 19:37

Weekly for everyone.

Sunnyshores · 04/03/2013 19:48

How do I delete this thread from my recently viewed??? Cant cope with the inadequacy!

ToeCap · 04/03/2013 20:28

Haha! I rarely come on good housekeeping ,but this is one area I am hot on. If you had asked how often I clean the oven, fridge, freezer, floors blah blah I woud also be looking to delete Grin

SilentMammoth · 05/03/2013 10:27

Weekly for ours, but change bottom sheet more frequently (maybe twice)

Dc, umm, less often!

Curtsey · 05/03/2013 10:36

same as sunnyshores Blush and sometimes it's even longer.

I am also terrible for the floors. They're swept/hoovered daily, but getting around to washing them takes me SO LONG.

Change clothes and towels and tea towels every day so the will to be clean is there... where the extra effort of stripping and remaking beds or getting out the mop comes in...that's where I fall down.

I have no excuse, I only have one DC!

tabbycat15 · 09/03/2013 14:40

All 4 beds are done every week on different days. Though I'm in Australia & can get washing on the line all year round. If we have really hot weather & have sweated during the night I will change the bed again.
I used to do it weekly in the UK too.

MirandaWest · 09/03/2013 14:43

Between fortnightly and monthly. Nearer to fortnightly i think.

GemmaTeller · 09/03/2013 14:49

Every Saturday, so we can have a lie-in on Sunday with lovely clean bedding !!

Towels weekly (incl eight or nine tea towels - don't ask!)

Dog bedding once a week as well.

One white clothing load and one coloured clothing load as well per week.

Quite like doing laundry!! Smile

elfycat · 09/03/2013 15:08

3 times a day sometimes for DD2 who has learned to take her nappy off.

Mine - whenever I get a gap in the wee-sodden children's sheets. Erm... it's been over 3 weeks
