Has anyone found a good, cheaper, alturnative to finish dishwasher tablets?

I really don't want squeaky, scratchy dishes and have fallen for the advertising really (mug that I am).

We alternate between Finish and Waitrose essential dw tablets.

Both are good. I just alternate each day.

wheredidiputit · 28/10/2012 16:20

I tend to use whichever are on offer. Although am thinking of going back to powder.

moocowmrs · 28/10/2012 16:20

Yes have tried lots of brands finish def. the best option. They are often on offer half price and the like if you shop around.

I use sainsbo basics. Everything is clean and sparkling. I think dishwasher tablets are a huge con

Rikalaily · 28/10/2012 16:25

I use the ASDA own brand 5 in one tablets. I find them way better than Finish, always end up with watermarks when I use those.

notcitrus · 28/10/2012 16:26

Lidl are the only decent alternative with my hard water. Others don't compare. Even Lidl need salt added more often.

Flisspaps · 28/10/2012 16:27

We use ASDA Smartprice, Tesco's Daisy or Lidl's W5. Used Finish when on offer but haven't noticed any difference!

MousyMouse · 28/10/2012 16:30

the quantum ones are good.
lidl second (the all in one kind) best

thixotropic · 28/10/2012 16:32

Tesco Daisy brand

Better than some of the branded ones and we have stupidly hard water.

mousebacon · 28/10/2012 16:32

Thank you for the recommendations Smile

Just felt like maybe I was being conned! I like the idea of alturnating days.

I use the Lidl ones, fantastic imo.

Beamur · 28/10/2012 16:36

I use the Lidl ones too - brilliant value

Aldi Almat came in the top group in Which tests.

Use salt and rinse aid, it gets better results, and a 5 in 1 tablet is no substitute.

Mum2Fergus · 29/10/2012 07:18

I use Tesco or Asda own brand...the resl cheap ones lol whichever I can get cheapest and have never had any complaints with either.

picnicbasketcase · 29/10/2012 07:19

Morrisons lemon ones are good. Avoid Astonish at all costs, everything comes out with a film of grey dust on it.

Fairylea · 29/10/2012 07:23

Tesco daisy again here.

marriednotdead · 29/10/2012 07:27

The Aldi Magnum ones are the best cheap ones according to Which? The Fairy Platinum score higher than Finish but there's only a couple of percentage points within the three. £4 versus £13 is a bit of a no brainer!

daisydoodoo · 29/10/2012 07:27

Fairy but I stock up when on offer. I still use rinse aid and salt too though.

Violet77 · 29/10/2012 07:42

Aldi.

colditz · 29/10/2012 07:44

Yes.

colditz · 29/10/2012 07:45

I think you might get away with supermarket tablets and finish rinse aid

reastie · 29/10/2012 14:13

genuinely we love tesco basics dw tabs (separate cheap rinse aid/salt also) . They are the best we've found - get rid of the food smells IMO better than finish!

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 29/10/2012 14:15

lidl ones are great, imo.

susiedaisy · 29/10/2012 14:17

Lidil ones are fine
