Do you have 'childrens' towels in your house?

suebfg · 21/09/2012 20:34

DS uses just normal towels but I'm quite taken by 'childrens' towels e.g. Mickey Mouse etc. DH will probably think I'm just wasting money.

Do you have special towels for your children or do they just use the same as you?

Not anymore.
When he was a baby we had those hooded ones, but now.no. Ds is four.

CMOTDibbler · 21/09/2012 20:38

No, just the same plain white

Bladderama · 21/09/2012 20:38

Yes the DC's have their own set of towels my house but a different colour not printed

seeker · 21/09/2012 20:39

Only for swimming.

vvviola · 21/09/2012 20:39

No. But DD1 has her own colour - bright cerise. Was part of a ploy to stop the general drama around bathtime.

seeker · 21/09/2012 20:40

Printed towels are usually pretty horrible quality though.

wasabipeanut · 21/09/2012 20:45

Same as us although like Vviola my DD also has a bright pink towel that I have to wash, dry and return before bath time when I do a towel wash. Those hooded towels I found utterly useless even on babies. I just use a bath towel size for the litte ones and that gets them wrapped up nicely.

My dds have nice towels of their own -decent heavy cotton like ours but with embroidered details on (eg one has ducks, one zoo animal etc a bit like this)

PoppyWearer · 21/09/2012 20:47

Yes, we have nice ones from Cath Kidston (Cath Kids). They wash and last really well.

suebfg · 21/09/2012 20:47

They're cute - love the beach huts

Bath sheets for adults, bath towels for the DC, names embroidered on for swimming.

NorbertDentressangle · 21/09/2012 20:51

The DC have their own towels but they're not the printed sort, they're normal towels but with their names or various designs embroidered on (courtesy of both sets of grandparents who both went through phases of buying them).

In fact they probably have more towels between them than we have for us and guests!

aimingtobeaperfectionist · 21/09/2012 20:57

I did buy a hooded one (It was just too pretty and I'm just too softBlush) but I'm hoping she can keep it. I've still got my baby towel though it's now used as my hair towel.

NoWayNoHow · 21/09/2012 21:00

Nope, DH and I use the bath sheet size, and DS uses normal towel size. All the same boring colour

firawla · 21/09/2012 21:57

Yeah I use beach kind of towels for them for bathtime, mainly character ones because they like it.
I never really liked the hooded ones they are so small

Nagoo · 21/09/2012 22:05

DS has a Ben 10 one for swimming. Bathtime we all use from the same pile. You need a big enough towel that you can wrap a toddler in it and pretend they are a present.

TrinityRhino · 21/09/2012 22:07

there is children's towels in the house but only because they are small they are called that

TrinityRhino · 21/09/2012 22:09

there couldn't be a more badly written sentence in the world

Notcybermum · 21/09/2012 22:14

Yes really cute ones and matching flannels. They are blue with little toy soldiers on. My ds are 9 and 7. Tbh I only have them as they look show homey for when we have guests.

imip · 21/09/2012 22:26

Cath kidston here also. Nearly two yrs old and still in great condition. Got them before dd4 arrived, so currently have three. They solved a lot of argue nets about towels in our house amongst the kids. I have coveted the designer guild ones also as am considering having a back-up there. Beach towels also for swimming incl. a green ikea hooded one that is a favourite of dd2.

Pancakeflipper · 21/09/2012 22:31

Yes big bath towels for my DS's. From John Lewis.

BackforGood · 21/09/2012 22:53

Mine had/have their own for swimming, which they still use, several years on.
It give you somewhere to sew their swimming badges once they come off their costumes too! Grin

crackcrackcrak · 21/09/2012 22:55

No except for swimming but I really want a set of the duck print Cath kidston kids towels for the dd's

That said, when I separated I bought a new see of bright cherry towels for all of us to use but with dd in mind - she was quite thrilled :-)

GoldandOrangeAnnunziata · 21/09/2012 22:56

Have teenage ones for the mascara and eyeliner!
