How often is your home totally spotless...

...from top to bottom (or end to end)?

And when was the last time it was like that?

I'd say a couple of times a year here Blush and the last time was about 2 months ago Sad

I just can't have it all looking good at the same time, thanks to the constant mountain or laundry, messy DCs and their friends, and constantly feeding people.

Sometimes but never lasts more than a couple of hours :-(

maxmillie · 19/06/2012 21:14

Once a week, on a Sunday, for about 3 hours, when dp and ds's at cricket/rugby

ceeveebee · 19/06/2012 21:28

Every Thursday after the cleaner has been, and is messy again by Friday morning

Never. SAHM to baby and toddler and have never been a natural tidier. I do different rooms regularly and keep everything acceptable but to clean whole house in one go... would need at least 5-6 hours and that will not happen until both are in school. May do better once DS goes to nursery in Sept.

We could afford a cleaner but they piss me off; always skirting round the edges. I'd rather clean a room to within an inch of its life monthly, than only ever 90% regularly.

MaureenMLove · 19/06/2012 21:57

Once a week spotless for a day.
Once a month spotless for a whole weekend - because DD is a teenager and out most of the time and DH goes away for the weekend once a month! Grin

(I don't include DD's bedroom in this. I just shut the door and pretend it's sparkly in there!)

trixymalixy · 19/06/2012 21:59

Never

AKE2012 · 19/06/2012 22:01

Usually once a week.
Spent whole morning today gutting my house. Within minutes of child coming home i wondered why did i even bother in first place.

YourCallIsImportant · 19/06/2012 23:38

My house will be spotless only if we're having overnight visitors, and it'll last from about half an hour before they arrive, until they've taken their jackets off.

I feel better to know that doing most of it most of the time is normal.

When prospective buyers viewed- the agent was actually in awe of me and asked how I manage to maintain a carpet (plain dark blue) so clean? I said you should have seen it an hour ago it takes a lot of effortGrin. They didn't buy,- footballer's wife- they bought a house with a cinema, games room, etc. basically a flash playground for big kids

returnvisit · 20/06/2012 08:36

Never but with DC under 5 that isn't surprid

returnvisit · 20/06/2012 08:36

Surprising.

BezzieMate · 20/06/2012 08:38

Never

WheresMyCow · 20/06/2012 08:40

Never BlushGrin

TerraNotSoFirma · 20/06/2012 09:36

The living-room, Kitchen and bathroom are acceptable most of the time.
Just don't open the bedroom doors!

Moved in to this house 3 months ago, it has never been top to toe spotless yet and probably won't be until the big pre-Christmas clean. MIL takes the children for the first weekend in December and we spend one day cleaning and de-cluttering, Then put the tree and decorations up the next day. This is the only time of year I could say my house is spotless.

surroundedbyblondes · 20/06/2012 22:13

I'd say it's usually 90%. I don't really get to have a big clean so do a few things every day.

There's always washing messing up the utility room too.

susiedaisy · 20/06/2012 22:14

Never

sparkle12mar08 · 21/06/2012 09:49

Never. Ever.

My house is probably only ever about half to three quarters done, and that would be on a really good period. More often than not it's terribly untidy in most if not all rooms. Rarely truly dirty or unhygenic though, but certainly never spotless. It's just impossible for me with kids, without it turning into a six hour a day full time job.

sheepsgomeeping · 21/06/2012 09:49

Never from me also.

agedknees · 21/06/2012 10:22

Next Monday when my newly decorated/newly carpeted/newly fitted wardrobes flat is fit to live in again!!!

After that, who knows???

JeanBodel · 21/06/2012 10:33

Never. Never never never.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/06/2012 10:38

My mil's is always spotless, nothing is out of place even in the cupboards.

But she doesnt have a lot else to do and fil is clean too eg she only cleans the bathroom once a week and it always shines. Ours looks grubby again the next day.

passivehoovering · 21/06/2012 10:42

Once a week, for about an hour. I do a big clean weekly on my day off work, have a cuppa, then DD comes home from nursery...

PavlovtheCat · 21/06/2012 10:48

twice a year, for about 2 hours, before MIL arrives Grin

sereneswan · 21/06/2012 14:56

Once a week, recently - we got a cleaner! :)

Not only does the cleaning get done (previously I'd do some really thoroughly and then get so fed up about wasting half a day of my weekend that the whole house never got done the same week) but it also makes us tidy once a week the night before she comes.

Amazing.
