It has that orangey stain that someone on here told me is due to shampoo, or the water type we have here, can't remember which. Anyway the bottom two foot is stained, is there a trick I need to know?

My money is on vinegar/bicarb, obvs.

Shock at Wiki entry. Mine is going in the washing machine RIGHT NOW.

In the washing machine. Comes up like new my issue is with the anti slip mats which I like for the kids but am tired of scrubbing uselessly with a toothbrush. Do not mean to hi jack but how do I keep them clean, surly not washing machine? Mine is too heavy and rubbery it would knacker the machine...

those mats go in the mashine as well in out house.
low spin, though, or it sounds like a helicopter.
between use rinse and hang over side of bath with the suction rings top so they can dry.

Oh no, dh just chucked it out moaning about how revolting it was- and I scrub it with a toothbrush once a week. Will sneak new one in, and put in machine. Bit worried will break it mind you.

how about something like this? could just go in any wash.

The only trick you need to learn is to put the shower curtain in the washing machine every few weeks. If a shower curtain is regularly laundered it never gets stained or mouldy. I put mine in with my towels etc.. A polyester shower curtain washes really easily and well, it doesn't get damaged and does not take up too much space or weight in the washing machine. Best to not put the rings in the machine by mistake. Also, think about it, if the shower curtain hasn't been washed for months, it's pretty gross when it clings to your body - you wouldn't leave your towels that long so why your shower curtain? If it has gone stained and skanky, and you want to save it, then soak it in a bucket of water and bleach - polyester and synthetic dye should stand up to this and if not you didn't want a minging curtain anyway.
