i'm about to start a mega blitz of the house. it's bad. i'm going to do 45 minute blasts starting with dcs' bedroom. landlord is coming with a potential new tenant to view so it has to be good.

anyone up for joining me or just kicking me up the bum if you catch me on MN? Grin

going to start at 4.30 and i'll report back at 45 minute intervals with a progress update.

join me join me!!

Just wanted to say good luck!

MrsNouveauRichards · 24/04/2012 16:37

Good luck! I really could do with doing the same but I am in a Bad Mood and sulking about it.

Might join you in a bit.

IAmBooyhoo · 24/04/2012 17:25

thank you both!

i have cleared all washing and rubbish from dcs' room. they are currently pairing socks and hanging coat hangers in their wardrobe. have swept their floor and moved into my room, all the shoes are away, washing cleared to bin liners for launderette (there is so much i would never catch up) and rubbish out. folded washing is away in the wardrobe, not in the right places but it's off the floor. just about to go and clear the dressing table (put all teh stuff in drawers out of sight-sorting can happen after the viewing when i have more time) then sweep the floor, make up the beds and start on the bathroom.

Well done!

My crap day is not getting any better, I have just smashed a whole box of eggs in the fridge, meaning a fridge washout - bollocks! :o

jammydodger1 · 24/04/2012 18:01

Iambooyhoo I joined you without knowing you must have subconsciencely (sorry cant spell that) motivated me, I have so far hung washing out, cleaned bathroom inc floor and removed all horrid black stuff from around the bath, tidied both dd bedrooms so I could find floor to vac, sweeped all downstairs floor, cleaned downstairs bathroom, dusted and vac living room, cleaned kitchen and fed everyone, and I got in at four today!! I am now having a well earned hour lurking Grin and maybe even a Wine

justtryingtodomybest · 24/04/2012 18:03

Just lurking in the hope that some of the motivation will rub off on me as it is sadly lacking just now

liveinazoo · 24/04/2012 18:06

you asked for a pointy stick --->>

keep going!Grin

IAmBooyhoo · 24/04/2012 18:10

ok well that wasn't strictly 45 minutes that time but i needed a drink. Grin

dcs are getting whingey now, i knew it wouldn't be long!! rubbish gone from my room. all cat paraphernalia removed from living room (had a recuperating kitty but he's on the mend now so can clear it all away). all dvds todied back in drawer, throws taken off the sofas for the wash, crisp wrappers in the bin, and a collection of cardboard boxes that i was storing for whenever they might be useful Hmm have been removed. hall floor swept and bin bags lined up ready for the dump aswell as cardboard boxes for recycling. left to do is the kitchen and the bathroom. getting rid of all the crap and clutter today, will drop all washing at launderette tomorrow aswell as rubbish at the tip and then start proper cleaning but it's looking better already.

mrsN i hate hate hate cleaning up smashed eggs!! just hate it. you have my sympathies. Grin

Wow jammy you have more than earnt that wine i'd say!! i'm exhausted just reading your list. i purposelly had dinner earlier today (at 4) so we could have the evening to get stuck in. i can hear the dcs messing around so i have to go and delegate some more tasks. see you all again shortly!

glad your kitty on mend Smile

IAmBooyhoo · 24/04/2012 19:48

i've hit a slump now. got ds2's mattress cleaned, he had spilt something sticky on it and the kitchen table and floor (dcs had been drawing and cutting). we're having some toast now before the dcs go to bed and i watch eastenders and then some clothes folding and putting away, do the dishes, sweep kitchen floor and then early night so i can crack on early tomorrow. at least thats the plan.

MrsNouveauRichards · 25/04/2012 11:18

How is today going? Hoping to get in around 3ish this afternoon and have a good 'session' :o

Going to tackle the doomed cupboard under the stairs! Even though everywhere else is a tip, I kind of figure that if I get the cupboard sorted there will be more room to actually put stuff away. Or something like that....

IAmBooyhoo · 25/04/2012 16:04

today i have achieved precisely zero in the house apart from putting washing in teh dryer. but i have been doing lots of running around today trying to find a house and school runs etc. had a cuppa with a friend and have had to nip home as ds2 has had an accident in his trousers and i'm heading out to view another house in about 20 minutes. will get a good bit done this evening though, hopefully.

OP posts:
OverwhelmedMuch · 25/04/2012 17:03

I have done nothing today and feel guilty, my DD is having a nap right now and instead of doing something that needs doing im sitting here browsing mn! tell me off quick so i at least put some washing on :)

IAmBooyhoo · 25/04/2012 17:13

OVERWHELMED!! YOU NAUGHTY GIRL.

does that help? Grin

i'm just back from the house viewing. my head is throbbing. i think i'm getting panicky about not having a house. ds2 has diarhoea (lovely, more washing! Hmm) just about to have a cup of tea and then i will get the dcs to bed early tonight and get stuck in to cleaning the house.

OP posts:
MrsNouveauRichards · 25/04/2012 17:33

Cupboard under the stairs sorted! Mad that I felt the need to do it today, looked on the calende and we have an electricity meter safety check tomorrow! I must have remembered subconciously (meter is in cupboard)

Apart from that, very little housework done.

OverwhelmedMuch · 25/04/2012 17:37

That helps thanks! :o I will go and do something constructive right now!

Ahhh moving is so stressful :( how was the house?

Poor ds2, hope he's better soon for his sake and for your washing pile!

I need to make dinner and clean ready for friends and their DD's coming around tomorrow, otherwise i will be cleaning like a maniac in the morning.

IAmBooyhoo · 25/04/2012 18:15

it was too dear and i got the vibe that my every move would be being noted as she said the previous tenant was very dirty so they would be inspecting every month and also, the owner's mother lived next door and her friend at the other side. also she said all the neighbours knew each other well and used each other's back yards to take their bins through. i dont mind friendly neighbours but i just felt that would be a bit too much. also i have a dog and it only takes one of the neighbours to leave the gate open by accident for him to get out or for someone to say he bit them or something (he has never bitten, it's the people i dont trust Grin) it is on a really busy road and the garden was at the front, plus parking on the road, which would be ok if the road wasn't so busy but i have seen how close cars get to the parked ones there so just a big fat no. will keep looking. i have another to view next week.

i'm going to take dcs up now to the bath. think i might end up going to bed myself, i feel awful all of a sudden.

liveinazoo · 26/04/2012 10:39

hugs for IABH
if you need another stick, just pop into baby step thread...always plenty in ther

IAmBooyhoo · 26/04/2012 12:31

thanks zoo

both dcs now have diarhoea so that's a big barrel of laughs! Grin so school today so we did have a bit of a lie in and i've been really slow to start. going to try and get into gear now though. if i feel myself slwoing i'll head on over there.

OP posts:
IAmBooyhoo · 26/04/2012 12:32

that should be no school today.

OP posts:
MrsNouveauRichards · 26/04/2012 13:25

Not good Booy, but yay for lie in!

Well, the bastarding electric meter inspector hasn't turned up so shut up indoors all morning for no reason.

I have written some cards, spent 5mins on a 'hotspot' and played trains with ds. Oh, and did a quick whizz around upstairs making beds and opening windows. Need to get going to the yard for the afternoon and then another quick whizz round when I get back ready for friend and dcs over for dinner.

IAmBooyhoo · 26/04/2012 13:36

oh yes i was so glad to get an extra hour in bed. very much appreciated. ds2 has started waking during the early hours (about 2am) and coming into my bed to chat so i really needed the extra snooze time.

oooh i hate that!! how to they always get away with doing that, knowing someone is spending the day in waiting for them and they just dont show!!

we've just had a bit of lunch. going to get stuck into bathroom now and then kitchen. even when ill my dcs seem to wreak havoc wherever they go. Hmm

OP posts:
MrsNouveauRichards · 26/04/2012 21:24

Wow, I'm over-achieving today! Wink

Now in bed with my book, I have:

Put a weeks worth of laundry away
Emptied and reloaded the dishy
Put wet washing in tumble and another on to wash
All toys away
Scrubbed out cat's bowls
Done all washing up and wiped down hob and worktops
Put out my clothes for the morning

Now, if I can just manage that every evening...... :o
