An extremely boring Q about cushions. Seriously, it'll have you nodding off into your cornflakes.

Do you have cushions on your suite?

If you do, do they match?

I'm changing my cushions cos I've changed my suite. The old one was cream and this one is green and so the cushions don't match! - red furry ones, black leather ones, cream ones with red spots, red silk with a chinese style pattern - a real hochepoche!

Which looks better, in your opinion? lots of different styles flung randomly around the suite, or a set of identical cushions?

my do not match, I have changable covers and the beige covers match my current cushions but I have aubergine covers on sofa and the cushions do not match. I have always planned to buy a set to go on with the aubergine covers, but never have,

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. you where not wrong there I think I have just boared my self back to sleep, Grin

oreocrumbs · 13/12/2011 10:09

I don't on this couch as its one of those big squashy things where the back is made if cushions. On my previous sofas I always have different cushions, similar colours but a couple of plain ones that people are allowed to use and the rest a bit prettier with patterns, interesting fabric, sequins etc Xmas Smile

BloooCowWonders · 13/12/2011 10:10

I like a mish mash. Can't bear matching everything!

Bit academic in my house as the dc refuse to have any and always throw them on the floor :)

Yes and no. I have committed the unspeakable MN crime of having a brown leather sofa and my cushions are all some variation on cream and teal. I realise that makes me chavvy, unimaginative and downright common but I don't care :o

Redrubyblues · 13/12/2011 10:18

I have both - matching ones that came with the sofas (cherry red) and others I have added in red and gold and in different sizes.

missmiss · 13/12/2011 10:19

I either think they should match or be completely mismatched. The worst option is cushions that almost work together/with the suite but don't quite make it Grin.

HugosGoatee · 13/12/2011 10:20

I have a mix. I think matching cushions look a bit un-MN chavvy and Argossy

They are all Laura Ashley though, in the same colour scheme of cranberry to co-ordinate with the curtains.

HugosGoatee · 13/12/2011 10:21

IMO thinking 'co-ordinate' rather than 'match' is the key.

Firawla · 13/12/2011 11:14

different ones coordinating looks nice but i just got matching as it was less effort than finding all different ones that looked nice together. it still looks okay i think. i also have a brown leather sofa gwendolinemary but i dont understand what people have against them i love my sofa!

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 13/12/2011 11:17

Matching is too P78 of Next Catalogue. Ditto the co-ordinating ones that look too matchy.
Mix it up, baybee. And give the black leather ones a decent burial Wink

HecateGoddessOfTwelfthNight · 13/12/2011 18:20

well, I started the day boring you to tears and I'm going to end it the same way Grin

I went on a cushion hunt.

I ended up with one creamy one with a bit of lace (nicer than it sounds!) one cream one with a bit of green and one great big MASSIVE dark green one with light green bits on.

It looks nicer than it sounds Grin

No need for hot cocoa when I'm around, eh? Grin

Black leather ones (I know, I know, what was I thinking? Grin ) are now hidden at the bottom of the bin.

Onoes, really? I feel guilty now Grin. At least put them out to grass or something Grin

The green ones sounds very nice. I love cushions.

Grockle · 13/12/2011 18:26

I actually love this thread.

funnyperson · 13/12/2011 18:31

Couldn't resist: On sofa: 2 William Morris cushions made by MIL, 2 stone coloured linen cushions with hand painted shells from St Malo, one small gold yellow cushion with fringe.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......

HecateGoddessOfTwelfthNight · 13/12/2011 18:34

Yes. So you should, woman. They're out there now, cold and frightened. Plucked from the warmth and love of my living room. Given the boot. And it's all your fault.

I want a divorce.

So dull it's come full circle back to interesting, you mean, grockle Grin

Funny. Wake up. You're dribbing down yer chin.

This has reminded me of a lady I saw in JL today with her arms full of cushions eyeing up some more and wondering if they went with the ones she had. Had a moment lusting after her choice. Love cushions. But have 7 on our 2 seat sofa so have got to be practical!

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 13/12/2011 18:37

Divorce over cushions? What would Dr Phil say to that?

HecateGoddessOfTwelfthNight · 13/12/2011 18:50

It's not just the cushions.

You fed my dinner to the dog.

Let's not do this on here, woman.

Grockle · 13/12/2011 19:14

HecateGoddessOfTwelfthNight · 13/12/2011 19:26

Is that a euphamism, Grock? Wink

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 13/12/2011 19:46
