No more messing, my house is full of piles of stuff that I don't need, I am going to be ruthless (i really am!)

Does anyone want to join me? Anyone have any tips or advice?

wel granny doesn't live with us and I dont have lve letters

the biggest issueS we have are clothes, dvds, vid games and toys and some more toys and some more clothes

and I reckon a duplicate or triplicate of everything you need one of
like toaster, can opener, kettle etc (lofted)

Trin

Start with a single drawer or cupboard - never try and tackle a whole room at once and then get the stuff out of the house ASAP otherwise it will just creep back.

There are some good books out there to help like The Life Laundry or have a look online and see if there is a decluttering service near you or PM me if you get stuck Smile

Oooh loadsa posts! Maybe the
Good weather has motivated everyone?!
Fraid not in this house and I shall be enjoying an afternoon in the paddling pool I forgot my mum bought me to loaf around cool down when I was pregnant last year! So enjoying the fact I'm not doing trains to London & the northern line on a day like this!
Grin at dead t-shirt corner. I need to have one of those for DH or a dead shoe corner at least Hmm

Those charity bags are quite handy to grab a load of stuff when they come through & stick it outside. Not drive around for weeks with it in the boot waiting to drop off!

I'm marking my place. I need to place DD's old clothes in bags for the charity shop, sort out what she's too big for, sort out what's being passed down to DD2 and then reorganise her drawers.

Not looking forward to this in the slightest.

Reading these posts is torture for me - I am literally drooling at the thought of getting to throw stuff out..............I miss it and my DP is a real hoarder.

Off to IKEA today! New Trofast for the toys so can go through them all and chuck all the crap, new bookcases for wasted corners of our house - I am so excited!

Ishtar2410 · 04/08/2011 08:26

We bought Trofast for DS a couple of months ago - has revolutionised the lounge...although he does seem to accumulate toys really quickly!!

Wardrobes arriving from IKEA tomorrow - we took down the awful mirrored fitted wardrobe in DDs room and found we were lacking in organised storage. (compared to the disorganised, throw it in and shut the door storage that we had just removed!)

Stuff is slowly being sorted out...painfully slowly...but we're getting there. DDs room really needs tackling, but once the wardrobe is in it'll be a start.

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 05/08/2011 10:51

Toys sorted into new Trofast. I chucked a bag full of broken toys/plastic tat, and have got a box of outgrown baby rattle type toys to find a home for.

Today we have been to homebase to get paint and start decorating our bedroom, then we can put up our lovely ceiling height bookshelf and go through all our books.

We are getting there, slowly :)
