do you clean in your jammies?

my mum has always worked full time and done her shopping on saturdays so sunday was her cleaning day and she always did it in her jammies before drssing and going to mass. we lived in the country and no chance of neighbours popping in for coffee at that time on a sunday. but i have noticed that i hated having my shower and getting dressed only to get stuck into cleaning, but i know that if i do it in my jammies, someone will be at the door within 5 minutes of me starting.

what do you do?

Yes - always in pjs.

I listen to 80s music on my ipod and sing at the top of my voice too.

I forgot myself last year and started mowing the front lawn in pjs whilst singing too.

Neighbours think I'm a muppet anyway so I don't care.

WillieWaggledagger · 28/12/2010 14:44

I do clean the bathroom in my pyjamas (or naked) but that's because I do it before I have a shower in the morning. Never the rest of the house though, but then i very rarely clean the whole house at once, and dp does all the hoovering. do know what you mean though

comewhinewithme · 28/12/2010 14:45

Yes I have to have comfy clothes on to do the cleaning.

ChasingSquirrels · 28/12/2010 14:46

I don't clean, and I don't wear pj's

rofl (amid pizza boxes)

I wear an old t-shirt to sleep in in winter, and I have a cleaner. I do of course do things like wipe the kitchen counter down after I have used it.

4andnotout · 28/12/2010 14:50

I didn't get dressed until 2pm today as I was cleaning the house from top to bottom, dancing to Michael Jackson, I'm now relieved that I'm not the only person to do it!

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 28/12/2010 14:52

I'm still not dressed and am contemplating doing the whole house! Blush

4andnotout - I like your style! Moonwalking is extremely effective for cleaning your shower screen IMHO.

bibbitybobbitysantahat · 28/12/2010 14:57

No!

I can't start the day properly until I am showered and dressed.

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 28/12/2010 15:00

bibbity, how do you do it?

i used to be like that, i literally rolled out of bed into the shower and then got dressed done make-up and hair and then dressed ds and we had brekkie, washed dishes then left for nursery and work. but since being pregnant with ds2 i haven't been able to get back to that, now, wake up, take dses downstairs and eat then tehy watch some tv, i MN then before i know it we are late and i have t o rush to get us all washed and dressed in whatever is nearest, no nice hair or make up. i want teh old me back.

bibbity - the day doesn't actually start until the housework is done surely?

Do the housework, get showered/dressed, start drinking.

tingletangle · 28/12/2010 15:03

Yes I do. I do about an hour of housework in the morning before getting dressed. Although I suppose they are not really pyjamas more lounge wear as I sleep naked.

Christmastreedelivery · 28/12/2010 15:04

I do this. Have ruined many a lovely pair with bleach.

I always seem to manage to get into a cleaning grove when wearing my white company white ones too. Typical.

stressheaderic · 28/12/2010 15:09

I used to - figuring I didn't want to splash bleach on good clothes etc, but now I find I feel more productive when I've got showered and dressed, so I do it after. I don't really do 'big cleans' though, just do it as I go along, and usually clean kitchen in the evening after DD has gone to bed.

MusicalMummyJules · 28/12/2010 22:38

I do at the weekends and during the holidays when I don't have to take DD to school etc as it's just so much nicer and easier!

CybilScissorhands · 28/12/2010 22:39

no I dont

wear old gym gear

No hang on..

I have a cleaner

CeliaChristmasFate · 29/12/2010 09:45

Yes I wear my pjs. My (very sad) plan for 2011 is to get a set of white trousers and top like Kim and Aggie so I don't ruin more clothes with bleach. Anyone know where I can get some? (And a link to a "Get a life" site at the same timeXmas Grin)

bb99 · 29/12/2010 10:09

I clean in jammies - sadly I have less good clothes than jammies so worry less about getting jammies dirty or ruining them (and they're cheaper to replace).

I do have a knack of peering around the front door, when the postman knocks and also a very BIG dressing gown in case anyone has to come in! Grin

TheMonster · 29/12/2010 10:11

Always in jimjams!
In fact, I have just done the bathroom in my jimjams.

LaurieFairyonthetreeEatsCake · 29/12/2010 10:15

My pjs are nicer than day wear so i tend to have a shower then change into very old clothes to clean.

However on the days I'm not working I do pottery cleans just not with bleach and don't get dressed til I have too.

ZZZenAgain · 29/12/2010 10:16

I have sort of "cleaning SAH clothes" which are not the things I wear out and about but they are not grotty and they are pretty similar to PJs just pull on trousers and a tshirt/sweatshirt.

If you clean in your PJs, are you then wearing them in bed that night again? Maybe my home is particularly dusty but my PJs wouldn't be nice to wear again after cleaning in them

TigerFeet · 29/12/2010 10:18

i always clean in my 'jamas

couldn't care less if someone knocks, postie doesn't care (sure she's seen worse in her time) and people who know me wouldn't care either

then have a shower and luxuriate in being clean and tidy in my clean and tidy house

TigerFeet · 29/12/2010 10:18

zzzen, they go in the wash, clean pj's the next night

ZZZenAgain · 29/12/2010 10:18

but do you then put the pjs in the wash or wear them again that night?
