Hi all
Welcome ginger

Ruby did you have SPD in your pregnancies?! Have an inkling you have mentioned it.

I have been having twinges of pelvic pain for about a fortnight but then yesterday had to run for DD when she had run away from me and was lost Shock (don't ask, terrifying) and I was in AGONY all night and most of this morning. Subsided a bit but still hurts now and then, worried it's going to get worse! What do I need to do?!

Hope all is well with everyone. DH is away in London visiting university friends so I am managing alone this weekend!

BB tomorrow ladies

Wendy I thnk it was OFM who suffered from SPD as well.
very sorry, back/bone stuff is awful, frightening too. Well done on coping without dh, hope the parents are helping.

TPT I asked Maths teacher in mixed school whether girls did as well. He said they did better at GSCE level than the boys Shockin that particular school. So maybe girls are just better at most things and that skews the results in the Girls' schools.
Ths is when a training in statistics would come very very useful...
If one more headmaster tells me his school i sthe best in the borough I shall scream.

swanriver · 24/09/2010 21:47

Oh yes and Osteopath told me to stop pushing the baby buggy! Angry what was I supposed to do - find a donkey?

Dh has just made homemade Pad Thai, just to outwit me on the takeaway front Grin

TPT I think I have this yet to come with ds2. I am already quizzing schools about their SEN departments and their policies. Some are amazingly on the ball, sometimes I just hear stories from other parents to imply the SEN dep is not what it claims to be - even in some cases where school has an outstanding rating from Ofsted...
I think you have to just keep asking people urther down the line for their individual stories.

One of my friends' sons, who goes to a "rough" comprehensive in Hackney was classed as dyslexic at primary level, bottom streams at beginning of secondary, got 8 very good GSCEs including 5 A*s, and is now doing Chemistry, Physics and Art (and photography AS)for A level. I think my friend is sort of amazed that he's turned out to be this boffin, as she was good at History, Languages etc.

dylsmum1998 · 25/09/2010 08:35

Wendy poor thing my sis had that in her preg and was in agony.

TPT hope you manage to find a school you are happy with soon.

Nuttybear · 25/09/2010 21:14

Very tired now. Do you remember the days when Saturday was a real day off work! Sad

Shopping for boots and presents for various kids.
Tidyed house
Beds made
clothes folded

Ironing skipped Lunch! (DH went to football
played lego with Ds feeling guilty that I should have dinner on
W/M on, dryer emptied dryer refilled
Fish pie made
D/w loaed and kitchen cleaned up
Go to bed early to go to work early am.
How is that a day off!Confused

swanriver · 26/09/2010 10:41

nutty it ws not Sad still it sounds as if was a cosy afternoon, just not freedom!!!

can't for th elife of my remember yesterday - no cleaning done at all, house is v.grimy, dh is so not interested in it being tidy - keeps telling me to go back to bedHmmexcept when he can't find the wok or the axe
but we went to cool party last night round the corner with the kids till late, everyone has slept in, and he's taken them to church!!!Yippee - feel I have time now to whip around laying out damask tablecloths and silverware for Sunday Lunch.
Lunch in
need to do some tidying now

swanriver · 26/09/2010 10:48

Right - going to concentrate on two things,
blackberry and apple compote
and putting sheets away

swanriver · 26/09/2010 11:21

sheets away
bedrooms rescued

swanriver · 26/09/2010 12:18

tidied kitchen just to basic level Sad the more I tidy the more mess I find
emptied bins, worktops, recyclng out,

wendyhappysmile · 26/09/2010 15:19

Hope you got your stuff done swan
nutty sounds like my Saturdays too in fact just the day in the life of mum! LOL
Had a nice relaxing day today, kids being good, just doing minimum jobs.

To do still - make biscuits and pasta bake for tea, not very exciting but Mum is coming and she likes pasta and never cooks it
Tidy up, do baby clothes ironing
Kids have mega loads of toys out but remarkably it isn't stressing me for once.
See you all tomorrow

scattyspice · 26/09/2010 15:45

Hello everyone. Sorry I've been absent again, having real trouble getting access to comp now that DD has learnt how to use it (pesky school) and dh has developed an obsession with some motorbike forum (hell angels net??). I am wondering whether a laptop would be a justifiable expense (probably not at the mo Hmm).

swan am Envy at your party lifestyle (but don't Envy you the task of SS selecting).

PT (assume you are the lady in red), interesting that your dd has dyslexia, was she formally diagnosed (by the school?) I wonder whether ds has this (school 'don't like to lable children as dyslexic' so call it a 'learning difficulty' instead, which to me sound worse!). I'm sure it makes SS selection an even greater challenge.

wendy hope the pelvic pain has subsided. Very hard work looking after 2 little ones while (heavily) pregnant.

nutty I agree re the demise of saturdays (and sundays for that matter). I often wish for a handy grandparent on the doorstep to send the kids round to (as we did). I also feel that the loss of freedom for this generation quite possibly damages the parents more than the kids.

dyl hope you are managing with your busy work schedule.

Today:
have stinking cold Sad. Mustered energy for trudge round the park this morning, reading with both dc and ironing this aft. Nil else.

swanriver · 26/09/2010 17:28

Scatty we only have one. Luckily it can be put in a drawer and disconnected. Or carried up to mummy'sbed office
well done on ironing, hope you can look after your cold and take lots of lemsip and blankets

went for a jog
and lit the fire Smile (now feel an irrational urge to declutter the garden of dh's horrid little piles o wood)
started new book
bit of gardening makingmoremess
made scones
dh then made pancakes with dd and complained I had used up all the flour Angry, there was no whisk [a lie] then complained pan stuck [technique], so I remade pancakes perfectly too Grin and we have had them with blackberries - he is now playing board game with them, kind man!

kids have spent entire afternoon on the Wii, apart from dd and I who were bicycling/jogging/pancake making for an hour

it is raining
