What is this FLYing of which you all speak?

Am nervous that once I find out, I'll not be able to resist joining you.......

Nuttybear · 23/09/2010 17:17

Go on you know you want to.....SmileGo on Go on, Go on

Jas · 23/09/2010 17:23

LOL nutty

Check out the link to the official FLYlady site at the start of the thread. We all do our own interpretation of it, but whatever you do it all helps if you are not someone who enjoys housework....

Trying to work out realistic routines here, and get as much as I can done before dd2s birthday on Saturday. She wants a three tier birthday cake.

Grin nutty.

Sounds like a good way of organising your days off.

Have been to the library and got dd some more school tights, and somehow other random things found their way into the basket like shoes that amazingly fit me Grin Grin

now need to get the kitchen organised before starting bedtime routine

BBL

gingerkirsty · 23/09/2010 19:31

Excellent, thanks Nutty - DH is looking forward to seeing me actually dressed before he leaves for work tomorrow!

Nuttybear · 24/09/2010 10:24

Morning all I have e-mailed the BBC about Chris Moyles what a D H Well got that off my chest. & have been accepted for a Mumsnet event up town... with Lunch wow! Back in a mo

gingerkirsty · 24/09/2010 10:33

Morning! So far today I have:

*got up, BF and changed DD and then SHOWERED AND GOT DRESSED!!! No lounging in pyjamas whatsoever. However I do draw the line at lace up shoes - am still wearing flip flops until I absolutely have to move to boots or trainers, but for the moment am wearing slippers!
*Realised had not shined sink last night but at least it was clean and tidy.
*Straightened hair.
*Had breakfast with DD
*Put DD down for nap
*Done face - i know i should have done when i got dressed but DD was climbing up my leg whilst doing hair so I didn't want to push my luck!
*Done dishwasher
*put away dry laundry - not enough to do a load today.

Now off to swish and swipe before the monkey wakes up.

So far, I LOVE IT!!! It's sad to say but it really helps having someone tell you what to do! Grin

gingerkirsty · 24/09/2010 10:34

Nutty what did CM do/say????

Nuttybear · 24/09/2010 10:45

This Git Don't listen to him but I really hate people moaning when they should be getting on with there job. Also I think he is generally rude and............... a very bad example to young people. Di I just say that I'm turning into an old biddy Shock

gingerkirsty · 24/09/2010 11:09

Grin it comes to us all my dear!

It must be very annoying not to get paid in fairness, we all have a cash flow to keep up with and it must have buggered him up to some degree. But it is hard to feel too sorry for him given how much we pay him, and I would assume anyone on such a whacking salary really ought to have a decent amount in savings!

I actually really like him generally speaking, but now listen to Jack FM because it is for old people plays my kind of music :)

Nuttybear · 24/09/2010 12:11

Tea break Yerh! But No but...he just gets up my nose!
1 Clean Fridge done
w/m reloaded done
Dryer emptied & loaded done
D/W loaded done
Arranged for sis to do pick up next week done
Right off to the shops!

swanriver · 24/09/2010 13:15

I don't really FLY on this thread, just chat..
Nutty think you have realised the truth! It is impossible to tidy up/sort and "clean" on the same day.

Most of morning spent taking dd to orthodontic hospital referral (talk only Grin, which they told me something absolutely fascinating about how one minute oxygen less in a newborn (ie: twin birth no 2baby) can mean weak teeth. Oh yes and sweets don't help either...

spoke to sister about secondary schools Biscuit Sister booking Feb hols in Fuertuventura Angry [envious] dh hates planes and won't discuss any plans at moment, not surprisingly

bit of laundry and table clearing
what's for dinner? baked potatoes, fried chicken, sweetcorn fritters, green beans

house festooned in dry laundry (not very flylady) and all sheets new yest, so that's something.

Todo
putaway laundry
sink
dw
change round ds2's room
get swimming stuff ready

Ginger good luck!

dylsmum1998 · 24/09/2010 13:49

afternoon all, thats very interesting re the teeth. My friend has twins and is devastated about one of their teeth being so bad.

gingerkirsty I like the bossyiness of being told what to do to. MAkes it so much easier

Have been in uni today, just got back and eating my lunch.
Going to do an hour of uni work before I collect dd.

done today
uni
wash up
tidy
fold dry washing

to do
uniwork
dinner??
iron
load washer
hoover through
mission

dylsmum1998 · 24/09/2010 13:52

ooh excellent don't need to do the mission as I did it in the summer, if I get rid of anymore clothes I'll have none to wear Smile

swanriver · 24/09/2010 14:04

so slow today.Blush
completely cleared kitchen, now just need to sweep and wipe it, and clean sink

dyls I'm glad today is a bit less hectic for you - is course interesting as well as tiring?
Because my twins are non-id, I think a lot of twin issues have not been addressed in this house and are oozing out of woodwork Grin of which the teeth stuff is possibly themost straightforward Grin - stillshe does eat far too many sweet things, on the other hand ds2 doesn't seem to have the same craving and could munch for hours on raw cabbage Shock

dylsmum1998 · 24/09/2010 15:00

Dyls the course is very interesting just exhausting, the longer days are at the beginning of the week, thurs and fridays are actually less hectic as I finish about 1, apart from when I am in school placements.

I have a couple of friends with twins, tis definately a tricky business am glad I don't have. That said I can also see the benefits too..

gingerkirsty · 24/09/2010 15:21

OK since last email:

Swish and swipe - done
Cleaned dirty recycling boxes bought off gumtree - done
Listed sling and swaddle pod on netmums - done
Put away all clothes etc on sofabed hotspot in DD's room - done
Put car thru car wash - done
Picked up a few bits in waitrose - done

Having a well earned cuppa while DD has nap no2, and then to do:

What's for dinner?
Give DD her tea
Clear hotspot on kitchen table

Thanks all for the welcome to the thread, today has been fab but I wonder if I'll keep it up?!?!?!

And all power to swanriver and anyone else who has twins, DD is 7mo now and I really have NO CLUE how people manage when they have two!

gingerkirsty · 24/09/2010 15:22

email should clearly read post Blush

gingerkirsty · 24/09/2010 15:23

Oh and meant to say, don't need to do today's mission as I do that on a rolling basis and usually have a 'charity shop bag' on the go - took a load earlier this wk and have just popped one item into a new bag. Works well for me to do it that way.

Ouch :(

swanriver · 24/09/2010 18:47

taken dd to singing lesson and other two to a chippie
swimming pool with all three
met friend by accident - that's what great about this pool!
some mild hoovering/mopping done but not much

am loving the casualness of Friday -except I have to pressgangpersuade ds1 to join elementary strings tomorrow.

still brooding about whether to send ds to mixed school or single sex. Does he even like girls, maybe mixed will put him off for life..and at boys' school he will retain idealistic visions of beautiful kindly maidens.

TPT almost over
