Do your kids wear clean clothes every day?

I tend to wash my daughters every day regardless of whether there dirty or not but with another baby on the way and no tumble dryer I'm not sure I can keep that up. I'm interested to find out how many other people do this.

Clean pants and socks every day, clean shirts everyday for school too. Everything else get's a second wear unless it's covered in yoghurt/mud/ketchupGrin
Clean pyjamas after their baths; every other day.

Runoutofideas · 03/09/2010 16:47

Clean knickers and bottoms at least 4 times a day for dd2 at the moment. She's been potty trained for a year but has regressed massively! Clean when necessary for dd1 - but clean knickers every day!

FlyingInTheCLouds · 03/09/2010 16:48

no way. waste of energy/time/ruins clothes fasater why would you.

though cleAN underwear.

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 03/09/2010 16:52

clean pjs every night? blimey.

DS1 gets pants and socks clean every day, pjs about once a week if no accidents, trousers normally worn two or three days, t shirts two days if no dinner down them! Jumpers almost never unless food down them.

DS2 is 17 months so gets clean clothes more often, he dribbles like a champ when teething and is a messy eater....

BobLoblaw · 03/09/2010 16:58

The idea is that I wash when things are dirty but dd wees and dribbles on things, ds gets food, toothpaste, pen, mud etc over himself so it's rare that things last more than a day!

mousymouse · 03/09/2010 17:03

clean shirts and pants every day. clean uniform every day. jeans wear until dirty. PJs change every few days or so.

Meglet · 03/09/2010 21:26

Yes, clean clothes everyday (they're 3 & 2). They mess up whatever they wear so can't wear it a second day.

PJ's changed every other day due to weetabix splodges.

domesticsluttery · 03/09/2010 21:28

Clean uniform daily for my three.

At weekends we might get two days out of jeans, but they will have also worn different stuff for football, riding, church etc.

My washing machine never stops!

SixtyFootDoll · 03/09/2010 21:31

Mine are 7 and 10
Clean pants and socks every day..
Other than that as many wears out of things until dirty/ smelly

NoahAndTheWhale · 03/09/2010 21:41

Clean pants and socks every day.

Generally clothes last as long as possible before washing - why make extra work?

LynetteScavo · 03/09/2010 21:43

My DC always put on clean clothes in the morning.

By 10.30am they are usually filthy.

DreamTeamGirl · 04/09/2010 21:24

Clean unifrome every day. I cat remember the last time we got a 2nd wear out of anything except school jumper cos he only wears it for about 20 mins ....

Clean pants daily, clean pjs weekly when his bed is changed

montoyadiary · 04/09/2010 21:38

i have three - 5, 3 and baby, i put them in clean clothes daily aside from trousers and jeans which if i'm lucky get a couple of wears. Clean PJ's every other day unless they trash them at breakfast (they get dressed afterwards as potential for carnage with cereal/yoghurt/marmite etc..!)

When #2 arrived I did get a tumble drier though - definitely couldn't keep on top of laundry for 5 of us without it.

Lilyloo · 04/09/2010 21:46

Yep clean clothes every day and clean pj's for little un , for older dc's usually change pj's 2/3 times a week.
Uniform every other day (clean underwear/socks)

chocolatefroggie · 04/09/2010 21:52

Yes 1 dd age 2 clean clothes at least once a day usually a second set after lunch, clean pj's every day (mostly because there is always breakfast down them)
occassionally she'll wear jeans or denim dungaree's 2 days but very rarely

cupofcoffee · 04/09/2010 22:01

My children's clothes go in the wash every day. Sometimes they do need to change part way through the day as well.

peachybums · 05/09/2010 15:43

I ahve 3 DCs, my 8 year old son is very eco and never changes clothes until i physically drag him to the bathroom. On school days i put out a clean jumper everyday but i try to get him to last 2 days in trousers and shirt. He has clean undies on everyday and socks (i have to check to make sure he does this Hmm)

My 3 year old DD has clean clothes everyday because she spills everything or gets felt pen on all her clothes. Clean undies and pyjamas everyday.

My 4mth old DD i try to change every 2 days in trousers or skirts but she usually has 3 tops on everyday cos shes sick down them all lol. Clean vest everyday. Clean pyjamas cos they smell a bit when shes had a nappy on all night and shes usally sick on them Hmm and of course her cloth nappies are changed every 3 hrs or so so they mount up for washing too lol.

Sequins · 05/09/2010 15:47

Yes we wash the clothes every day except usually not DS (age 4)'s jumpers which go on and off over his T-shirts and can last 3 days and occassionally his trousers can last more than one day, too.

BarefootShirl · 05/09/2010 15:58

For school DD have clean knickers and shirt every day and DC has clean socks - DD generally does not wear socks.

At home it's a bit more haphazard as it depends what I think is dirty. Inevitably DS (8) has an uncanny ability to get every pair of trusers or shorts muddy every day whereas DD (10) tends to wear very little at home and so creates much less washing. Also, neither wear PJs so, all in all, it's not that bad.

Polgara2 · 05/09/2010 16:32

Oh god no - don't wash things if they are not dirty! Clean knickers and socks every day, clean uniform blouse every day but skirts and jumpers last a week probably. Bath everyday so pj's once a week as they don't really get dirty (and I would sponge a mark off if they did Grin). Other clothes - wash when dirty - simples!

Polgara2 · 05/09/2010 16:33

I should add that my children are not toddlers! They definitely generate more washing.

chipmonkey · 05/09/2010 22:07

Ds4 gets clean nappies every day.........

EleFunTess · 05/09/2010 22:11

I have a 5 yr old and a 2 yr old and they wear clean clothes every day. Their clothes are usually absolutely filthy by the end of the day, especially my younger one.
