evening Swan. hope you found the PE bags.
Am trying to get school uniform organised and name labelled. Spent last night sewing in dd's labels. Now need to do ds's. Really don't want to but it needs doing.

Also need to get bck into flying as we have been away again, caught up with the washing, so now need to organise myself back into getting the housework done.

Just been and looked up the zone and this week we are We're in Zones 5 and 1 this week: The Living Room, front porch, entrance, and dining room mission here

guess I should go and bring down ds's uniform and start sewing.......

wendyhappysmile · 31/08/2010 21:52

LOL swan at your post! it's like some sort of Modernist poem!

Glad it's front porch as I swept outside the front door today and vacuumed the living room! Feeling virtuous and Flylady-esque!

Spent lots of time yesterday scrubbing the baby car seat and bouncy type chair free of mould and mildew - sparkling clean now! Moses basket all clean too and its bedding. it's getting exciting! Only 12 weeks to go and I'm already cleaning things!

DD had a friend over today which was good.

School not til Monday here.

BB tomorrow

dylsmum1998 · 31/08/2010 22:33

I met my newest nephew last week. He is so cute- he fell asleep with the first cuddle I gave him Smile. My sis also loved the baby blanket I made her. She didn't realise I had made it myself.

Have just finished the name labels I know need to iron it all and put it away Hmm not doing it now thought. will still be there waiting for me tomorrow Sad

Makingchanges · 02/09/2010 11:17

Morning all - Crickey, can't believe you are all talking about Christmas - It seems such a long way off at the moment.

Wendy - When I had DD I was due end of Nov. All Christmas shopping was done and wrapped before and I was so pleased that it was. Made Christmas alot less stressful (although less like christmas without mad flapping over forgotten presents)

DD first day (well half) in reception today. She went really excited then got really nervous and clingy when got in the class. I'm sure she'll be fine. Found out its a join Recept / Y1 class was a little Hmm at not being told before and worried about whether DDs friend will end up in same class but it means that she is with other people who she was in nursery with last year so hopefully that should help.

I have bought all my stationary and new bag for my PGCE and been on a dummy run to ensure that I know where I am going. Today I'm going to pack my new bag (soooo excited) so that I still have another day incase i've forgotten anything.

Done today

  • Drop DD off at reception. Stayed for settling in and then legged it.
  • Picked up parcel from post office
  • Picked up flu tablets for DH Hmm hes just had two weeks off work, so hes had to go even though not fit really
  • Been to shop for new school Cardi for DD - Was sure old one was still big enough until she put it on this morning Blush

To Do

  • Lunch
  • Pick up DD from school
  • Take DD to library to return books
  • Put together housework rota for next week
  • Menu plan for next week
  • Pack bag for Uni course
  • Finish off uni reading
  • Make tea - Pork chops
  • 2 x Washing loads
  • Hoover through downstairs

That will do for now. Wow its so quiet around here

Nuttybear · 02/09/2010 12:50

Hello MC & Wendy
Tea break, Ds doesn't feel well now!
How does a little laundry, hoovering & dusting take me the whole morning!
DS hasn't even taken off his PJ's all day!
I'm not going to tackle Christmas until 1st November. I did find the Fly lady Christmas to journal very useful. I can't do Christmas shopping ahead of time as I will get the wrong things.
MC I'm sure Ds school sweat shirts will be too small I'll worry about it next week! he can squeeze into them until next pay day!

swanriver · 02/09/2010 13:29

Slow morning at my house.
Have been to hospital first thing with ds to schedule his operation in November to take pins out his leg [uh oh] but he was in excellent spirits.
I have been reading teen fiction fervently (midlife crisis?) just finished the last Twilight book (Breaking Dawn) -which really is tosh...Blush and now the most brilliant Jacqueline Wilson ever Hetty Feather - kept trying to explain to ds how she was using Victorian words and idioms..(he was NOT interested)...

ah well, now need to do something useful.
feeling strangely relaxed. Perhaps this is a nice little interlude before things get stressful again and I should take advantage of it....Hmm
flapjacks?
to take swimming?
gardening...next - garden v. shaggy

not Christmas again,, Ruby! Shock It is still Harvest Festival!!!Angry
High School Applications is next BIG THING. Need to visit about 5 schools. Have had various unsettling conversations with other mothers of older children. It is so difficult to know what sort of child I have and where he would thrive.

goodluck PGCE-ers
and three first time Reception dds

My brother and his wife are having first baby in January! so I will scrubbing what is left in loft to give to them -

must dash bbl

MNTotoro · 02/09/2010 13:48

Those of you who know me on fb have to go and see dd2 in her new specs x

Nuttybear · 02/09/2010 14:17

Hi Swan I feel relaxed today maybe because I haven't phoned anyone about playdates, activities, holidays or going any where at all. I was thinking abot the garden today too. I need a pretty flowering plant/shrub that will be happy in shallow, gritty soil in a sunny stop next to the fence. Any ideas?

wendyhappysmile · 02/09/2010 16:59

no ideas on plant nutty, sorry, although we have a hollyhock in our sunny garden in a very shallow spot next to a fence! it is lovely all summer but grows huge and flops over and dies back in autumn.

Midwife ok, injection, bloods etc. Baby in breech pos but I'm only 28 weeks so I'm trying not to panic! Not seeing midwife again until 34 weeks!

makingchanges my other two children are both November babies, all 3 have same due date! Last time I did most of the shopping if I remember rightly, first time don't think I did any but then I was working full time up to 3 days before birth (was 3 weeks early!). Def going to buy all stocking presents for DD and DS but leaving big stuff as they may change their minds or get stuff for their birthdays! Also going to do family if I can, buy Xmas cards. But can't really write them, as will hopefully have another name to add to them! Planning on putting birth announcements in same envelopes to save on postage!

BB tomorrow

OverflowingMum · 02/09/2010 18:01

evening all

have survived day 1 of school!
4 dc to school with smart new uniform, lunchbags and pe kits....
DS2 to nursery - he cried loads agaian whenI left him Sad but was apparently fine after 5 mins. He was having great fun playing in the water tray outside when I collected him, so that's good.

So just had dd4 at home- she doesnt start reception till tomorrow.

did a bit of house blitzing...it needed it!
Loads of washing, general tidying, dusting, hoovering, good clean kitchen, swept and mopped downstairs...

Had yummy roast pork with homemade apple sauce for dinner...

now need to continue endless task of stitching coloured thread to new socks to identify ownership and save inevitable ensuing sock crisis....

all dc report having had good days at school, but sadly seem to have returned in foul moods, especially dd 3 who is being even more challenging than usual....

right, must dash...

OverflowingMum · 02/09/2010 18:51

ruby I'll take a bundle of those please...
this back to school business has cost me a fortune LOL

Seconadary school selection is indeed a scarey business. I am soooo relieved that ds1 got into the one we wanted....
things of course so much easier for subsequent little people!which reminds me I must fill in forms for dd1.....

swanriver · 02/09/2010 20:22

Dd being super challenging today, after we all went for a lovely swim. I felt a bit like crying at the inevitable torrent of aggression and complaints.. But tried to ignore as much as possible, and put in place a new strategy of providing as much food as possible before/when she starts sounding off...

She also threw ds2's goalie gloves(well gardening gloves) over the fence so he's having a tantrum too now...thank you dd Hmm I have extracted £3 to pay for them from her money box...they were very muddy..

Anyway, I'm now trying to think of her as a jacqueline Wilson heroine - that helps Wink
