Morning all

DH is ill so I'm tasked with the job of keeping DD out of the way so he can have some peace and other children out of the house Hmm

Just getting ready to go to Meadowhall for one of there summer holiday sessions - taking DD dancing today and tomorrow so that should be good.

Then lunch somewhere and shopping, need to find some lightbulbs (sounds easy) but since they changes them to energy saving can't get ones that don't look silly in out fittings.

Jobs to do today

  • Meadowhall for dance academy
  • lunch out somewhere
  • shop for food and lightbulbs
  • Maybe park if weather stays nice
  • washing, washing and washing
  • tidy spare room of ironing pile
  • clean kitchen side
  • Clean bathroom and en-suite
  • two sections of uni work
  • remain calm and keep the peace
  • May try and go out for a run if DH is well enough to watch DD for 1/2 hour later, if not session on treadmill
  • Menu planning for week
  • sort through DDs clothes drawer for clothes that are too small and bag for charity shop
  • enjoy a nice glass of wine this evening (i need something to look forward to)

Update of list - Not got very far at all as did some shopping in Meadowhall and lunch took ages so only got home an hour ago

Jobs to do today

  • Meadowhall for dance academy - done was really good for a free 45 mins (although was only just over 30 mins in end Hmm )
  • lunch out somewhere - McDonalds because got given a leaflet showing where dance school was (next to McDonalds and then that was all DD would be satisfied with)
  • shop for food and lightbulbs - Done
  • Maybe park if weather stays nice - C/F was raining when we came out of Meadowhell Sad later in week maybe
  • washing, washing and washing - Doing
  • tidy spare room of ironing pile
  • clean kitchen side - done
  • Clean bathroom and en-suite
  • two sections of uni work
  • remain calm and keep the peace - Just about
  • May try and go out for a run if DH is well enough to watch DD for 1/2 hour later, if not session on treadmill
  • Menu planning for week
  • sort through DDs clothes drawer for clothes that are too small and bag for charity shop
  • enjoy a nice glass of wine this evening (i need something to look forward to)

Have spent the last hour covering two empty boxes in wrapping paper as DD wants to make treasure boxes. I'm sure they'll end up full of rubbish but kept her occupied for a while

Have a banging headache so going to have 5 minutes peace before I decide on whats for tea

Scatty day sounds lovely - I love days pottering, DD doesn't. Hope you got to the park with bikes - suns come out here now but too late for today

OFM hope you had a good day too and managed your run

OP posts:
OverflowingMum · 09/08/2010 18:08

Evening all
scatty sounds a peaceful day...hope bikes went well.
Yep, I have childcare sorted for Sept...I have DH at home till then - the advantages of being married to a teacher LOLWink

MC glad dd enjoyed dancing. How was meadowhall? was it packed?

well, have done:
several loads of washing
bit of tidying our bedroom
negotiated endlessly between 3 very grumpy children endlesslyHmm
made some peach jam...not sure what it will taste like LOL Confused
Went running - dodged the showers and managed just under 2K again...yayGrin
Collected girls from summer school

I also managed to ring work , spoke to consultant (who sounds lovely Grin) and HR dept...have start date set for next Mon...am also going in Friday morning to meet people and agree timetable.
They are moving unit last week in Aug, so apparently not many patients at the mo and might be spending my first 2 weeks packing boxes LOL LOL At least I can manage that - I've moved house 11 times, I'm an expert at packing boxes hehehe!Grin

so tomorrow...DH has to go into work...I plan on doing some house blitzing...

right..off to begin bedtime proceedings...BBtomorrowGrin

scattyspice · 09/08/2010 19:16

Next mon OFM Shock! Are you looking forward to it?

Mine love McDonalds too MC. Ds sat in a lovely organic cafe while on holiday and asked whistfully (and loudly) 'why do we never go to McDonalds anymore?' LOL

managed to dodge the rain at the park. I fear the days spent pottering may be few as DD has announced that she is bored, has nothing to do and wants to go back to school!!

To do:
laundry - done
kitchen and bathroom floor - done
finish cleaning windows outside - done

Makingchanges · 09/08/2010 20:22

OFM Meadowhall was empty when I got there, at about 10.45am - was a little busier by about 2pm when I left but had lunch at 12 in Oasis and there were plenty of seats too.

Its probably a good job cos I have to go back tomorrow for more dancing (and apparently a go in Tiger play area thingy) and Wed for Dora.

DH has a temp of 39.3 Shock so is in bed feeling terrible and DD will not go to bed. I have however done mountains of uni work. Going to carry DD upstairs if I have to then crack open the wine and enjoy having the downstairs to myself (where I may sleep so I don't get DHs lurge)

Be back tomorrow

Oh No ruby How long were you going for, can you postpone for a day and see if its better tomorrow. Its not too bad when you are there but setting up a tent in the rain is no fun.

Wendy have a nice morning with your mum, glad your DCs are being good at the moment. DD was brilliant yesterday until about 4pm then was a nightmare. Doesn't seem to be able to manage it for a full day.

Well DH came downstairs last night 'for a change of scene', whinged and moaned and then fell asleep on settee - I was not a happy camper. I slept on the settee, don't want us both to be laid low with it but on;y had about 3 hours sleep and then DD woke just before 7am this morning so now I have a lack of sleep induced banging headache Sad

To do today

  • Back to Meadowhall for another dance class - I did promise DD that she could go in play area today if she was good - its boarderline whether I let her at the moment
  • Clear out fridge and make a list of shopping needed
  • Pack back for DD - she is going to GPs for two nights again (except I have to take her back to see Dora tomorrow teatime)
  • take dd to gps
  • download new office and antivirus to new laptop - this could take me all night as it took me 4 hours night before last to get it to connect to internet.
  • whats for tea - not got a clue
  • Should be weigh in tonight but doubt i'll get there
  • Probably Asda or Sainsburys to stock up fridge
  • 3 book reviews for uni course
  • ring friend to book get together
  • hoover downstairs

OFM enjoy the plum fest, sounds like you are having a good hols so far
All have a good fortnight, will be back then! We are off to France today yippee!
Got rid of DC for morning to pack car etc.
BB in two weeks

Makingchanges · 11/08/2010 09:37

You are probably already gone wendy but have a good holiday

wow OFM soo much fruit. We must have a berry tree of some sort down the road on the way to the shops as I saw a grown man swinging from a branch the other day with a carrier bag, only when I got closer did I realise there were actually some round things on there ('round things' are the reason I buy my fruit from supermarkets I have no idea about berries and would poison someone) I too would have left grumpy DCs and gone out on my own, I think thats what you need sometimes when you have had it all day.

DD was a nightmare yesterday afternoon but was parcelled off to GPs at teatime - excitedly telling them she was staying for two sleeps. They love it and cos they are on holiday this week are planning to take her out and tire her out. I am taking her to Meadowhall for Dora tonight and then I hope she will go back with MIL and not home with me. I was ill last night and thought I was coming down with DHs bug but thing I just got too hot and this made me sick as I'm feeling fine today

Plans for today

  • Gym this morning
  • DH has meeting at hospital re op next week so he is going to meet me at the gym for lunch
  • Wash bedding now DH is feeling better - get rid of any nasty bugs yuck
  • Make blueberry, walnut and banana muffins
  • Pick up DD and MIL and take to see Dora
  • Online banking - need to do some creative balancing or win the lottery
  • May try to go to cinema with DH tonight - typical that one of us is ill on one of our only child free nights and I don't think he'll have much strength for much more - if not maybe rent a dvd
  • tidy bedroom floor - have loads of empty boxes and half empty carrier bags that need emptying and going into the bin

Not planning too much as I don't know what any of us will be feeling like later but hopefully everyone will have a nice day today

OP posts:
scattyspice · 11/08/2010 15:49

Hope you had your child free night MC and haven't gone down with the bug.

Fruit picking sounds idyllic OFM!

We've had lots of fun with SIL and lovely teenage nephew. Nephew was fantastic with DC, they totally LOVE him. We have been to the park alot.

Not going to do much now. BBtomorrow.

OverflowingMum · 12/08/2010 19:47

evening all

wendy hope you're now having FAB time Grin

*hope you enjoyed your child free time!

scatty nephew sounds lovely

ruby glad camping went OK. Shock at neighbours behaviour....I mean fancy forgetting teabags and remembering a trivial thing like baby milk Hmm

last 2 days sort of a muddle...but then that's summer hols for you!

Have done lots of walks/playgrounds/etc with dc...

Also managed to empty, clean and reorganise ALL kitchen cupboards. Found bag of sparkly pens/bubbles etc left over from dd party bags that will make great stocking fillers Smile

Also went for very long (by my standards!) run last night, so feeling virtuous (and slightly stiff!)

DS2 had his first visit to nursery on Weds afternoon...it was for an hour, and they ask you to either stay in the room or downstairs in parents room....anyway initially he was fine...I settled him in, he was delighted at new friends and toys to explore...I said "mummy's just going for a cup of tea, I'll be back in a bit" and he briefly looked up from exciting new toy and said "bye bye mummy"Grin Bless him! Didnt last so well though...he was OK for first 40 mins...then they came to get me to say he was upset. Got to room to find him sobbing "where mummy gone"Sad
Still, staff seemed lovely and he has another visit next week. I'm sure he'll soon get used to it (fingers crossed cause it was horrible seeing him so upsetSad)

Have to go into work tomorrow morning to meet with Consultant and agree timetable...bit nervousHmm

then going to watch Dds 1 and 2 show at the drama school they've been atall week....busy complicated day as DH also has to go into workandis taking 3dc with him...then we are meeting in town for the show....one of those days where I NEED everything to run smoothly...here's hopingWink

Right...need to tidy kitchen

BBtomorrow all

Makingchanges · 12/08/2010 21:50

OFM sounds like a complicated day tomorrow - hope it all goes well and that you get a nice timetable. Don't worry about DS2 he'll settle soon. DD was like that on her first day, lasted about 30-35 minutes then I was called in and she was unconsolable in a corner clinging to her backpack - she seon settled after that and now misses it when she doesn't go. I'm jealous of your run though.

Ruby glad you managed to get camping

Well I had an eventful day - started off with a lie-in until 11am - can't remember the last time I had one of those, never mind that late. The got a phone call and had to pick my friend and car up, in the thunder, lightning hail and flood - yikes. Did manage to get lots of uni work done this afternoon and then went for 2 laps of the local country park (still only walking though but good for a chat and de-stress). Also managed 2 loads of washing and to sort out kitchen sides so not too bad.

Tomorrow

  • Local park if nice weather
  • Baking with DD
  • More washing
  • shopping
  • sort bedroom clothes pile - too many clean clothes, too few storage spaces

Back tomorrow

Morning Smile.

You are seriously productive ruby Shock.

OFM hope today runs smoothly. It sounds like DS did pretty well for his 1st time, next time it will be more familiar. Its a horrible feeling though isn't it?

MC yay for the lie in, makes all the difference doesn't it? You sound like you got alot done too.

Today:
wet and windy!!
Lidl
lunch
dentist
ds work sheet
upload photos
laundry
windows (how can it take me a week to clean the windows??)
