Afternoon all OFM you have been busy. Keep it up but make sure you reward yourself with feet up when kids in bed.

I have been across town to Tesco's, been and bought new speakers for ipod and been to toy shop (and got away with only a £3.99 hulahoop, all in the need for peace and quiet and to stop being invaded by everyones kids. Much as DD loves it, it just causes me more stress.Played all morning so unfortunately house is neglected.

To do before sit down time

  • Sort out bags and put away shopping
  • Marinade chicken for lemon chicken for tea - prepare potatoes and veg
  • Put some washing on
  • Sort out speakers - they are for the kitchen so I can listen to my ipod whilst cooking
  • Online banking - if I dare luck
  • sort through understairs mess from making myself a study area - started it on Saturday but not looked at it sice.
  • Read a chapter of uni book and make notes
  • Hoover and mop kitchen and dining room floors
  • Take some pain relief for my banging head - best do that first

Back later

OverflowingMum · 02/08/2010 19:28

oh..how odd, no ideawhere that sad face came from
I'm not sad really...my list isnt that scarey! Feeling quite positive today actually...
obviously MN decided my list looked depressing LOL

OP posts:
OverflowingMum · 03/08/2010 18:16

goodenss me , quiet round here this week!
Hope you're all off doing things much more exciting and fun!

anyway...in an attempt to keep me motivated and organised I'm going to update my list
.....

Shopping for dog food,polish... done
ring childminder done
dust and hoover lounge done
dining room- tidy,dust sweep,mop
ring work done
washing next
weed veg patch, plant up pumpkins courgettes and leeks done except leeks

so, fairly successful afternoon...
rang childminder...was out but leftmessage.
Have also found a nursery that will let me pay for 2 hours out of afternoon session instead of full session (as I'll be picking ds up at 3.00)
I think ds would prefer a nursery, so going to look at it tomorrow...fingers crossed...need childcare sorted now...

Rang work, spoke (again) to extremely grumpy secretary who seems about as much use as a chocolate teapot.... Consultant on leave this week so cant arrange meeting..will be next week now...

Veg patch looking good...just need to getmy leeks in tomorrow (got too hot digging!)

lounge looking good

dining room still a mess...tomorrow!

and bought dog food- had £10 off too! Also bought school Tshirts,PE tops and pumps...
and ordered walking boots for ds1 (off on scout camp end of Aug)

so feeling quite successful

tonight need to:
reboot laundry
dining room
consider lunchboxes...have yet to find the perfect lunch box solution....
letters to school re term dates next year

right...may bb later to see if anyone's turned up LOL

Hi all

Good list ofm although I read quick and thought you'd polished the dog!!

I was invaded by neighbourhood kids yesterday so no time to get on here, did manage park and to make weightwatchers smartie cookies with dd though so good day. Dropped dd off with gps yesterday and me and dh went for a lovely walk around local country park. It was very nice, think dh is feeling guilty that he can't help with childcare this hols and I appear to have upto 6 kids each day. Also did quiz (badly) in local pub but spoilt all goodness with garlic bread on way home.

Have been to gym this morning, fab session, although trying to change running stride to longer and up speed and was hard. Did well considering first time in gym for two weeks and no pain!!!

To do
-tesco on way home

  • make banana and blueberry muffins
  • make med. Lamb burgers for tea
  • washing, washing and more washing
  • paperwork on kitchen side and sort side of pc
  • shop for storage
  • pick dd up from gps
  • bath and bed dd then uni work

hope everyone is ok and that weather is better where you are than here!!

wendyhappysmile · 05/08/2010 09:15

Been to visit friends in Durham for three nights - lovely time
Hols in 6 sleeps!

OverflowingMum · 05/08/2010 11:26

Evening all

Had a fab day, DD didn't want to come back from GPs yesterday so she stayed for another night and day. So an unexpected child free day today. Managed to spend the whole day at my friends house doing uni work, after we both went for a walk and natter around the local country park - 6 miles!! (we did it twice)

Managed to get a whole section of uni work done and typed up and then went for a little shop to celebrate and I treated myself to a new bag and a new pair of boots (don't tell DH)

No housework done though but there will be time for that tomorrow with a houseful of rampaging children I'm sure.

Hope you are all enjoying the day

OverflowingMum · 05/08/2010 19:17

evening all

mc sounds a greta day

fairly productive day in some ways...bit lacking on housework though!

Have managed to:

ran just under 2K (without walking... progress for me LOL)

Drop registration forms to nursery for ds2 and arange visits

Went into local discount warehouse (that has just opened upto public membership) and bought some bargain Christmas presents for dc and HUGE box of washing powder LOL

Ordered new shoes for all DC

Checked bank accs (now drastically reduced after 6 pairs of shoes and spending spree but can still feed everyone LOL)

helped dd3 do her sewing kit

hmmm so not that much done then really...but feel sort of in control...will do some house blitzing tomorrow...

BBtomorrow

OP posts:
Makingchanges · 05/08/2010 19:28

OFM sounds like a great day - We have a new discount warehouse??

Fantastic news on the running front - well Done. The gym staff have a theory that cos I haven't got a long stride I am getting an increase in pain due to too much up and down and side to side motion, so I am back to running for one and walking for one minute at the moment to see if I can get a longer stride so I am very envious of your running.

Right list for tomorrow to be organised

  • Blitz the kitchen
  • Blitz my bedroom
  • 2 sections of Uni work
  • Hoover DD and Spare bedroom
  • Try and get a session on the treadmill
  • Read a chapter of uni book
  • Maybe weeks big shop
  • Finish sorting ironing pile
  • Sort DDs wardrobe (inspired by you guys)

That should keep me busy

OverflowingMum · 05/08/2010 22:03

MC not reallya new warehouse..it's the JTF warehouse, near Morrisons at Catcliffe.Used to be wholesale, open to busines owners only, but they have renamed it as a "discount warehouse" and opened it to the public. Free to join, so thought I should investigate! Bit hit and miss really. Some things not really that cheap, lots of stuff of no interest to me..but then a few bargains to be had too...depends what you're after really...I'm hoping though there might be some ty bargains nearer Christmas...

Re the running, I have NO idea what sort of stride I have LOL I go VVV slowly! Am working on building up stamina first then maybe contemplating style, technique and speed!! I did get a lot of ankle pain initially, but buying proper running shoes seems to have fixed that!
Sounds as if the staff at gym arehelpful, hope their advice helps.

right...really must get up off sofa and go to bed as V tired...and am in danger of late night nibbling if I stay up much longer!

OP posts:
Makingchanges · 05/08/2010 22:44

Hope you didn't nibble!! - I have no idea about stride just discussing various ailments and turns out when I run I bounce up and down as my feet are always under my body rather than stretching out as I run - must be jiggling my insides too much apparently and may be why I always feel like I have a stitch.

New shoes are great - I went to running shop in Meadowhall to have gait anaylsis and it really made a different to how much pain I got in my legs etc.

May check out JTF - my parents go there occassionally, but like you agree it is hit and miss.

Right spent some time with DD since she had finally returned from GPs and spent an hour with ice on shoulder so now am off to bed. Up bright and early tomorrow to get some housework done before DH blows a gasket at me (i've explained that housework and children don't mix)

OverflowingMum · 06/08/2010 08:45

morning all

managed to avoid late night nibbling!

still didn't get to bed early enough last night though...Sad
Am shattered this morning...

Trying to bring myself round into fun and positive mood with coffee...not working yet!

Think we will go swimming today....maybe for a walk in the woods too if rain holds off

Major task of the day is washing!

OverflowingMum · 06/08/2010 10:17

right...I need a new oven!
Thoseofyou with electric ovens tell me what you've got....is it good for baking???
fan or no fan???(or would ideally like option touse with/without fan but fear these may be beyond miniscule budget LOL)
so go on..talk to me about good ovens for baking!
The old one was here when we moved in, and is fan oven, but really has never been the best for baking......
has finally died though beyond repair...

right off to do something useful!Grin

OP posts:
OverflowingMum · 06/08/2010 15:24

Ok...DH has put in "spare" oven from garage(bought last time our oven died...but super basic cheapest of the cheap models as we were about to move house...)and it seems to be working...so will make do with thatone for a while...

Have made a chocolate cake (testing oven!) and has turned out OK...bit silly really though cause now I want a piece....must not eat...

ongoing washing battle, andhaving 5 mins peace as dh has taken dc out...bless him...

Only 140 days till Christmas Shock....LOL

Must go dosomething useful...Grin

My oven is Bosch very £££ but very good. Hope your cheapie one is fine, OFM
hope your mood has recovered a bit, Rubes and you have decluttered?!
Went to see Toy Story 3 today, first trip to cinema for DC - they were excellently behaved and loved it. Very good film. Cue merchandise LOL
Feeling tired today, early night.

Have eaten home grown potatoes (delish) and green beans for tea (yummy!) I love being a home grower!! Wish I had more space.
